Just started a Starting Pitcher my player. Strikeout build, for the white sox organization. (randomly selected). First outing was really rough, gave up 4 runs in the first inning alone. Got pulled after the 4th inning. Second outing I ended up going 6.2 innings, 7K's and got the win.

Re: MLB 2k12 How's Your My Player Going Thread?
Hey guys, me again. My player is going well:Great.
Season 2014:started in AAA, got transfered to majors when i completed my callups. Now, in majors ofc i have 30 games less than anyone cause of AAA period. Funny how Yankees decided their 2nd most valuable player in World Series campaign should go in minors. So i decided to ask for a trade. I chose Phillies. They could offer me alot of free rbis with nothing but singles pretty much. And, i wasnt wrong. As i am getting much better hitting, i've gotten on a hot streak. So hot that i broke MLB hitting streak record. My overall is 91, and with hot streak it's 95-96. I have most rbis in league-96(30 games less than anyone else) and 24 HR's, that is somewhere around 7th place. Batting average is somewhere around .410. And it's constantly rising as season goes on. Slugging is slightly below .800. Hitting became way easier for me. Since i started checking what kind of pitches pitchers actually throw and it's speed, i get at least 1 hit per game. And, people started walking me in last couple of games even(that annoys the S*it out of me). I don't force homers so much, but they do come. And my favourite part:I have 12 stolen bases. Now, if you remember, i play a slugger role. But, i am constantly increasing speed and acceleration(awareness only while i was in majors up to 70, cause it's a "needed" skill for a call-up.). Now, my first stolen base was a gift from a CPU AI pitcher since i've stolen 3rd base(yeah, i know). And it wasn't overthrown pitch when i started stealing, i actually am that idiotic to take the leadoff to try and steal the 3rd base
. I find stealing bases very fun part of the game, especially when your speed is 70
... Now, when i'm on 1st base, i get a task to "Steal a base".
My ratings are somewhere around this numbers:
Power R 92
Power L 82
Contact R 85
Contact L 82
Eye R 85
Eye L 81
Bunt 40
Arm strength 93
Fielding range/anticipation 66/67
Catching 72
Speed 72
Acceleration 67
Awareness 70
Aggression 42
Note: Da f*ck is with that closer from Reds? 105 mph fastball. 2 types of pitches? I couldn't hit his ball for dear life if i had to. I was a bit stunned when i saw it, and only batted once against him, but still... Guy is a beast of a closer... He just shutted me down. And i hit homers vs lincecum and likes of him. The only other pitcher that i also didn't have so much success vs was Verlander, and that i think had 2 reasons:respect towards his rating at first, and the fact that it was last season where i was plain awful.
Also, i would like to mention that i never played real baseball in my life(i am from Serbia, and baseball ain't popular here). But, i've switched TV company and they have ESPN America, so i started following baseball over TV. I've enjoyed many games, learned the rules, and now i play video version of it... I've batted as much as 330 games in my player mode(simmed season one when i was awful, and last month of season 2 when my ratings were down to 69 from original 81-82 because i was also terrible.) Advice for anyone who wants easy defensive position:1st baseman. 2oooo easy. You only get putouts and assists. On 3rd base, i get less defensive points because i only get assists and i ain't a part of a double play(i do start it, but i don't get points when 2nd baseman assists to 1st baseman for an out), but 3rd base is more interesting to me(it actually requires a bit of skill, and outfielding is frustrating with that camera angle)Last edited by machinarium; 04-29-2012, 02:17 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 2k12 How's Your My Player Going Thread?
I finally completed all my MLB Call Up goals on the last game of the AA season and I got called up to the Show for the rest of the season. Now I have hit a bit of a slump after 8 games my slugger is batting .218 So I might see AAA too!!!XBOX: Orangeug1ad

I killed it in AA batting well over .350 and at one point had something like a 30 game hit streak. Called up to MLB and I am terrible. Absolutely horrible. I got called up w/ about 2 months left in the season and finished like, .067. Start of the next season and I'm at .121. Seems like every hit is a pop up. My contact is at 75 w/ power at about 55 for both sides. I'm begging to get sent back down.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Seriously?! I read on another forum, the eye attribute meant nothing so I've stopped putting points into it. I don't swing at everything and usually can draw a walk every couple of games. I have the batter eye slider at 0, will that a difference?Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Well check what I said a couple of posts above. I just had a 1 -3 game where I made it up to .153. WOW... I guess it should be harder since you are in the MLB not AA but I didn't think I would be this bad.XBOX: Orangeug1ad

Why do my rating keep depleting? I am just a rookie and every few games I have to add to a rating that has dropped. Also I always show 1 point lower than I actually am in Contact and Power, what is that about? cold streak or something?XBOX: Orangeug1ad

Re: MLB 2k12 How's Your My Player Going Thread?
WOW! I just realized that a colds streak really hurts.... Normally my rookie slugger is 60 contact and 72 power and being COLD make his stats 50 / 55.
No wonder I have an average under .170 and I am going 2 for 14 in a series. FINALLY that horrible month has ended and we are in spring training. No cold streak but I am still .000 after 3 games. I was walked intentionally 2 times last game. So I am still messed up after that crappy season.
How does one get into a cold streak and most important how do you get out of one with out damaging your stats so much?XBOX: Orangeug1ad

Just my own opinion:
I don't think cold streaks are just not hitting well. I've improved in the MLB hovering around .200. Still not good and have gone hitless in consecutive games a couple times. I think it equates a lot to bat discipline. If you're hitting good balls and just popping up or getting SO by good pitches, I don't think it hurts as much. But if the plate discipline sucks and you're swinging away, I think that's where the biggest hurt comes from.
I haven't really figured how to get out of one outside of, be more patient and make sure you're hitting good balls.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Re: MLB 2k12 How's Your My Player Going Thread?
When I got in a cold streak after being called up, I stopped pulling back to hit for power with runners on and just hit for contact and hit for singles instead and at least get on base instead of flying out over and overView Through My Lens sports photography

Re: MLB 2k12 How's Your My Player Going Thread?
Yep, that is my problem. I came up and I wanted to kill every thing so I started doing real bad that the plate. And for me the worse I am doing the more I swing trying to get out of it.
I am swinging at crap I quit swinging at half way through my AA season. And any contact is always, weak, foul, or fly out. LOL right now in my first spring training I am 0-23 .000 !XBOX: Orangeug1ad

Re: MLB 2k12 How's Your My Player Going Thread?
Flyouts come from being over-aggressive. I use classic swing, and left stick pull all the way to the right. That way, i get singles, doubles and whatever. And when the right pitch comes along, i go yard. Had 47 HR iirc last season with 30 something less games than anyone else(due to call-up), with MLB record breaking batting average, and 150 Rbis or smthing like that. My overall is 96 atm (Power R 94, Power L 87, Contact R 91, Contact L 87, Eye R 92, Eye L 86). Speed is 78, aggression is in mid 40's, Acc is 75, and awareness is 70. Arm str is 93/94, and rest of the fielding stats are in 70/80s.Comment
