Wow these sliders are great (regular difficulty). All of my games were close one and two run games.....however the last two games I played I won by 6 runs and then 18 runs. The last was a slugfest against Pittsburgh. I had over 10 homeruns...usually I have one or two. I think it was just because the Pirates pitches suck....or I am finally getting the hang of the swing stick. Well now I am curious to see how my next game goes.

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
These sliders are playing beautifully for me now.
Just beat KC 6-3 (all 6 in a crazy first inning) and no HR's for either side, just solid hitting for RBI's. The games before had 2 homers and 3 respectively, so the balance is there.
Seems to me these sliders reward you if you have an on night and hit your corners and pick your pitches to swing at. Have a bad night and you will strike out and give up runs.

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Just wondering Psycho, which slider set are you reffering to? I am assuming they are the max-difficulty ones (rather than the original set) but am wondering if you are using the updated version I posted or X-Cell's version. Just wondering which set it is that does the trick for you.Comment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Okay guys, I've made some tweaks for those looking to geat a real challenge when playing. I've made changes aimed at making the game harder without compromising the integrity of the gameplay that these sliders provide.
Here the whole set reposted with some tweaks here and there (for example I think IF Speed would be better served at 20 instead of 25, and I've accordingly increased IF reaction speed to 20 to make up for the fielders being relatively slightly slower). Anyway, please only try these if you feel 'advanced' at the game. These are meant to be tough, so I can understand most getting discouraged by losing with these. They are simply how I think you can get maximum difficulty while getting the great gameplay I feel like the basics behind these sliders provide. With that said, if you guys can regularly beat the computer with these settings, then you should really feel good about yourself!

This creates for real swinging strikeouts. Batters go after pitches because of the uncertainty of the next pitch. It's not just a simple miss, like, ahhh I swung under it. It's the guy looking for a fastball, and then jumping ahead and falling against a curveball. You will be impressed with the realistic K numbers when you work the zone, while still delivering walks to the CPU.

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
You guys have AI pitch difficulty at 0? I think if I set this at 0 I would never strike out the cpu! I have mine set at 80 for both and it seems real good? Curious to why you have this at 0? thanksComment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
They are at 0 in the max-difficulty set because, well that is what I was aiming to do. Make everything harder for the human while playing the CPU without damaging the integrity of the sliders (like turning human errors to 100 and AI errors to 0). They are not meant to be easy, and if you haven't really mastered the game yet they are probably not gonna be much fun either. I am 1-3 in my new franchise that I started with these sliders, and am getting spanked when I pitch. But that is all they are meant to be: maximum difficulty.
With that said, winning vs. these slider suuuurrre was rewarding![Yes, that one time lol]

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
I just won 11-0 vs. Roy Halladay and the Blue Jays... on my version of maximum difficulty...
my next tweak is going to be:
Step Influence ... 90
AI Power ... 75
I feel like the AI needs to get the ball out of the infield more often. I also feel that on offense, I wanna make it so that your step is a huge deciding factor and see if the difficulty rises. Right now this game is just too easy for me.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

What's your record with the max difficulty sliders? I like where you're heading with these. I think you're close. Has the CPU been scoring runs with the latest set?Comment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
nnng, another thing I noticed is that i hardly ever get any ground balls out of the infield. In fact, I dont think ive gotten a ground ball through the holes yet. The infidlers are diving and making grabs all the time. Have you noticed this?
Also, I am hardly getting any foul balls when I or the AI bat. Are you getting a fair amount? Im purposely throwing a lot of balls to get the pitch counts up.Last edited by BigL; 03-18-2007, 01:02 PM.Comment

In the regular-difficulty sliders on the first page, it is at 20 instead of 0 which is where I feel really good with it being.
