Wondering...how many extra base hits are you guys getting? Excluding HRs. I remember in years past, the User Success slider would usually tweak with that. Just wondering if it is my timing that sucks, or if we're just getting to that next?

Besides the 4 hr's I hit last night, Hardy galloped for a triple. I've barely hit a triple in any other 2k baseball game, if memory serves me correctly.Comment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
roadman, if you want to work the count a little & like the Hitting setting as they are move the AI Pitch Success Slider to 40. Also roadman, move the Fatigue Slider down to 50/55 max. I forgot to make that change when I loaded v2.
As you say about the L-STICK, I would encourage others to use that same technique.
T-minus 25 minutes and counting.Comment

OK guy gimme a second. I will double check if the V2 are the 1's where I lowered settings & made them pitching duels.. BRBComment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
Alright I just check the V2 from 2k share & they seem the same except for the proposed changes I made a couple of pages ago
Hitting
User Success: 40 Contact: 40 Power: 60
AI Success: 50 Contact: 35 Power: 65
AI Pitching
Pitch Success: 40
Strike Zone: 10
Game Settings
Fatigue: 50
I firmly believe if you make these changes you'll see a different game. Also remember to try & play about 5-10 games as the results will vary from game to game.Comment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
Hey Joe big up on the sliders. Now please bear with me here. Im not that great at baseball games and played my first full game on Legendary Custom with your sliders and lost 3-0. I didnt generate a hit until the 5th inning (Playing OAK) and I had no strikeouts against them while mixing up my pitches. I was wondering if moving down to All-Star would ruin the sliders considerably? I know I gotta get better at pitching but that will come in time. Im also using the right stick for it also. Any help would be appreciatedComment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
Alright peeps. I'm gone for tonight. Before I leave though need feedback on Pitch Speed. therizing02 mention earlier that he was seeing some nice ball physics when he lowered the pitch speed to 50
Anyone wanna test this out & post what there observations are..
Additionally, I think the pitch speed has a huge effect on balls put into play. I started a game as the Jays in NY against the Yankees with the pitch speed at 75. After the first inning, the Yankees led 5-3 and every ball hit was a rocket. I lowered the pitch speed back to 50 and the velocity of the hits was much more realistic.Comment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
I just wanted to say I downloaded your sliders, and I'm currently using them. I'm playing a game with my Rays, and in the 1st inning I was able to hit a two run HR with Pena, but I did have to use the L-Stick to influence it.
I am just like every one else, wanting to play a simulation baseball game, and the default sliders are nowhere near that.
The sliders I used to hit the HR with, were with the 40 success, 40 contact, 60 power settings.
I'm going to keep playing with these for awhile, and I'm waiting to start a franchise mode until I have what I think are legit sliders.
Thanks again for what you're doing!Comment

TB 3 7 0
CIN 2 14 0
As mentioned above I got a 2 run HR by Carlos Pena in the 1st inning, and got one more run on a solo HR by Evan Longoria in the 4th. Other than that, just a few singles here and there spread out through the game.
As for the Reds they had nothing but singles the entire game, and I couldn't seem to keep them off the bases, but I was always able to get out of the jam. They scored both of their runs in the 6th inning, and I had to fight to keep my lead.
So for my first game with these sliders, I did enjoy them, I just need to figure out how to limit their hits. However, I was able to still have some power, but not swing for the fences with every batter, or the same batter every time.
Also I did not have any strike outs with Kazmir this game, and found that weird, but maybe it was just a bad pitching game for me?
I'm playing the Reds in a 3 game series to see how these are, and I'll be changing my pitcher next game, I'll post my results later.

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
My first 'chise game with these sliders
CIN (AI) - 3 10 1
NYM (me) 6 10 0
only 1 HR hit in the game - by the Reds in the top of the 9th off K-Rod. Two triples - one by Reyes, the other by Tavares .. about 2 to 3 doubles and the rest base hits..Comment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
OK I've updated the sliders on the 1st page. If you've downloaded V2 already just go in & make the the changes.
Game Settings
Fatigue: 50
Hitting
User Success: 40 Contact: 40 Power: 60
AI Success: 50 Contact: 35 Power: 65
AI Pitching
Pitch Success: 40
Strike Zone: 10
Fielding
Speed 55 (BOTH)
Again I think with these changes we should be good to go. The only other setting that might change is Pitch Speed (lower) but I have to do some testing. Something in my mind is telling me instead bumping the Contact & Power Slider up, all I should've done was lower the Pitch Speed down a little as therizing02 pointed out in his post
Oh the madness of the slider theory.....Comment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
Joe, or anyone that can answer, I'm interested in using the User Sliders from your set for online. I think I have it set up. am I correct in saying that I need to make sure they are loaded before going online and then making sure my online player setting is at "custom." I'm pretty sure this is it because I played 3 excellent games last night online. I just want to make sure.
Thanks.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

I signed up to the board just to say THANK YOU! This game has vastly improved because of the sliders. Used them last night and it actually flowed and felt like a real game.
Can't wait to try out the new tweaks after work.
Thanks againComment
