It really comes down to your skill level. Trojan plays his at 30, mk at 25. I play at 35. Go into the control & velocity drill. I did 4 games (2 with Jair Jurrjens, and 2 with Tommy Hanson) at 25, 30, and 35. At 25, I hit only 13% of my spots. At 30, 17%. At 35, 30%. To be truthful, if there was a 32.5 slider, I'd be there, but 35 suits my skill level a lot more than does 30.

mk, my sliders in my franchise are basically the same as yours. I was wondering if you had any suggestions at all in a way to increase the HR totals for me and the CPU, but lower hit totals, and not have strikeouts change much?

I know it's probably going to be tough to do that, but I think it might be possible. I'm seeing way too many games in my franchise where me and the CPU only get 2-3 runs a game, but both get 10+ hits a game. I'd like to see some 3 run games where we only get 5-6 hits, but hit a HR or two, but I am seeing most of my runs coming from consecutive hits for me and the CPU.

i'd suggest raising your power by 5 and lowering your contact slider by 5. i don't want to get too drastic on these...

also, if you do this and see some crazy numbers coming out of those two changes, raise the cpu pitch success by increments of 5.

these 3 options are really all we can do...

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching

That's what I was thinking to do. The higher my power, the more chances for a HR and EB hit, correct? But the higher the pitch success, the higher chance I hit it exactly like the pitcher wanted me to(ground out on a Derek Lowe sinker), right?

So that would mean a higher power, but higher pitch success too, would result in the pitcher getting the ground outs and pop ups he wants, but also me more HR's on the same amount of hits? If that is how it works, then changing those two sliders might just be all I need to do to get more HRs on less hits for me.

The problem would still be the CPU not getting enough HRs on the same amount of hits. Since there is no HUM pitch success sliders, I can only raise their power which will result in more HR's, but also more hits.

I guess I('m in a tricky situation kind of.

I may need to adjust these a bit. In about 20 games I'm averaging about a single run a game and 5 hits a game. The cpu is averaging about the same. So really, hitting is really difficult, and pitching is really easy. Pitching is a little more fair though then hitting. I'm just dying with these. I can't score and can't hit. I'll just have to keep practicing or something.

I have close to a full season and a half logged between a Starting Pitcher and a Center fielder. I think both sides of the ball benefit from this set quite a bit. That is, if you're up for more of a challenge on your road to the Majors. Though, if you're already using this set for regular games, then you're probably aware of that.

Give it a try! As a pitcher you'll have some AA starts where you're cursing your defense for half the game, but will also appreciate the relative serviceability of your AAA squad that much more.

I just played today's game (game 1 of double-header) of Indians vs. Twins.

Indians (me) at Twins (cpu) ... I won 5-0.

                CLE: 5 / 9 / 0
                MIN: 0 / 4 / 1

                Huff: 7 ip, 4 hits, 4 bb, 3 k - was a ground ball machine.
Sipp (1.1 ip), Smith (.1 ip) and R. Perez (.1 ip) gave up 0 hits

                Swarzak: 5 ip, 5 hits, 4 er, 3 bb, 4 k
                Burnett: 4 ip, 4 hits, 1 er, 0 bb, 7 k (i got swing happy)

                Brantley: 2-4, 1 run
                A. Cabrera: 2-5, 3 rbi, 2 runs (3 run homer - JUST LIKE TODAY!)
                Hafner: 1-4, 2b, run
                Santana: 1-3, 2 rbi, 1 2b, sac fly
                LaPorta: 1-4
                Buck: 1-4
                Valbuena: 0-3, bb
                Chisenhall: 0-3, 1 run, bb
                Carrera,1-3, sac bunt

Twins had only 4 hits: singles by Revere, Casilla, Butera and a double by young.

                Fun game!

Bautista creamed an inside pitch 402 feet for a nice jack.

Saw you got 3 ER off of Moylan. I can't hit sidearmers to save my life! LOL!!!

I also saw the actual score of today's Clev at Min game was 5-2, so I was pretty close!

Well I was really happy that Jurrjens got pulled so early :P They had 2 men on base with him coming up so they opted to take him out. I was thrilled. But Moylan was struggling. He kept trying to challenge my HR hitters inside? lol

Been playing My player with these. Well done on this set. I have some starts where I cruise and then other where it feels like I shouldnt throw anything near the zone of they lock in on it. An absolute blast.

To randogu, what camera setting do you use for pitching in the minors?

Sorry, I don't remember off hand and currently have no way to check. Its probably something pretty close to the Chase Field (AZ) broadcast cam settings. I remember liking that one zoomed in a a click or 2.
