also the official scorer in this game is on some serious drugs. I hate when I hit a solid single to the outfield, but the outfielder muffs it, and they rule it an error, instead of a single which it should be. There is alot of bad scoring decisions in this game.

Re: Official "Bugs"/"Glitches" Thread
Had my first glitch today after playing almost a dozen games so far. I had a play at the plate and my runner rammed into the catcher right after he caught the ball from the relay throw. The catcher fell down and popped up with the ball still in his hand. The announcers said, "He dropped the ball after the hard collision." I should have been called out but I wasn't and the run scored for me. First glitch after a whole week of playing, solid game!
Life is a sport, so play hard!

Originally posted by worldbNot a bug, but weird AI move. Playing the Dodgers with DBacks, down 2-1. Top of the eighth, Dodgers insert flamethrower and we go 1-2-3. Bottom of the eight, they rally and put runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 out. For some reason, he leaves the reliever in to bat (with four bench hitters). Of course, he strikes out. Then in the ninth, he inserts Gagne!?!
Again, what a great game, but that kind of stuff irks me. I usually manually override stuff like that, though.

I was playing a game and after lighting up the starter for 5 runs, the AI decided to bring in a reliever. The problem? The 'reliever' that was brought in was the starting pitcher from 2 games ago. He only had 62% fatigue and pitched horribly for 2 innings... I checked and this guy was definitely in the AI's starting rotation and the AI had plenty of other rested relievers to use...

Re: Official "Bugs"/"Glitches" Thread
Both for the PC...
The announcers refer to John Buck of the Royals as "Brown" other than when he is up to bat. It's really annoying.
And for IP to IP games, there seems to be an "injury" big in which it reports someone is injured, but it is actually someone completely different on the other team, this has happened to me twice.Comment

Re: Official "Bugs"/"Glitches" Thread
i had this one thing happen twice. a man on first, and a groundball down to the first baseman, i step on first base to get the out, i throw to second for the double play, step on second base, but the man that was on first goes back to first and is safe.? i dont think that this is how a force works in baseball. if so just tell me im wrong.
its happened twice and its really annoying because they came at key situations for me.
also in one of my games whenever i would see the man from first reach second in the baserunner window he wouldnt go to the bag, he would go to a spot right above the bag. i guess it just moved the bag over or something.
also how do you ram into the catcher, i press up but it never works.Last edited by seanmbrennan; 02-28-2005, 11:27 PM.Comment

For a force play to work, you have to throw to second first, touch the bag, then throw to first. Once you touch the first base FIRST, meaning the batter is out, the player is free to either advance to 2nd, or go back to first. If you touch the 1st base bag, the defensive team must now TAG the player for him to be out... or shoot him with a shotgun, but that's kind of frowned on.
