I could be wrong though. Do you have to get more than one out to get credited for a save? If so, forget I said anything."We All Have Sizeable Scars"

Saves:
Rule 10.20 in the Official Rule Book states:
Credit a pitcher with a save when he meets all three of the following conditions:
(1) He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his club; and
(2) He is not the winning pitcher; and
(3) He qualifies under one of the following conditions:
- (a) He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning; or
- (b) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat, or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batsmen he faces; or
- (c) He pitches effectively for at least three innings. No more than one save may be credited in each game.
Hawkins met 1 and 2. He didn't meet 3a or 3c. After reading it again though he did meet 3b. The tying run was in the on-deck circle so Hawkins should've gotten the save. Actually a pitcher doesn't even have to throw a pitch to get a save. He could pickoff the runner and still get credited with the save.Comment

Originally posted by joebooNo that shouldn't be a save. The most runs you can be up by and still get a save is 5. The bases would have to be loaded though.
A) If the reliever who worked the ninth came in the eigth inning and...
B) it was a closer score in the 8th inning (let's say, it was 4-2 for you, and you scored 6 runs in the top of the ninth).
I know, I'm reaching hereComment

Re: Official "Bugs"/"Glitches" Thread
Yeah I've had that save thing come up as well. I lost 5-2, and the closer pitched 1/3 of inning and should have been credited the save, but wasn't. Other statistical bugs I've occurred is trying to take an extra base, say stretching a single into a double has been counted as an out, not a single. I've had earned runs (which should be unearned) but the batter didn't get the RBI's. Example, gave up error with guys on 2/3 both scored (two outs) it counted as 2 earned runs, but the batter didn't get credited w/ the RBI's. It should be unearned runs and no credit for the RBI's. So it's wrong in both departments. I've blown a save (up 2-1) gave up homerun and lost in extra innings, but wasn't counted as blown save. These are the glitches I've seen so far. No real gameplay bugs so far (played about 8 games) but I hope these stats errors can be fixed via patch (on xbox... a bit of a stretch, but they could make this game damn near perfect if they fixed these)Comment
