Re: More Barry Bonds steroids stuff on ESPN radia right now
It was funny listening to Mike and Mike on my way into work this morning. Just a few things:
- The 2 writers for this are former Pulitzer Prize winners in Investigative Journalism. These guys come with some pretty hefty credentials.
- There was an excerpt from the book where they talked about how Bonds came to the park one day during the Mac/Sosa HR chase. They roped off the batting cage area when McGwire was hitting because the media circus was nuts (you'll know exactly what I mean if you ever saw Mac hit BP during that time).
Anyhow, Bonds asked what it was all about. They told him and he replied "Not in my house" and then stormed over to the ropes and tore them down.
I thought Barry didn't care what other people did and thought? What a spoiled little baby.Comment

Originally posted by camulosI'm sorry, but there's nothing great about records being broken by somebody who would take any steroid he could get his hands on to do so. It baffles me that people can still defend this guy.
I'm pretty indifferent on the subject because baseball has always been a game full of cheats. Corked bats, spitballs, cutting baseballs, filing baseballs, etc. God knows what any player in the past did. Babe Ruth could have used a corked bat in every single plate appearance he ever had.
Steriods are just a different method of cheating in a game that's always been full of crooked players. I'm not defending Bonds by any reason, but I'm just indifferent about it."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

ESPN news just reported that Bonds is leaving camp for 'Personal reasons'.Of course the Giants said that this has NOTHING to do with the book, and that he was already scheduled to leave before the book was leaked.

Hey I gotta advertise a little!
All i'll say is that Bonds has damaged himself beyond repair. Remember this is a man who was arguably a 1st ballot HOF'er before '99.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Bonds shouldn't get a free pass just because Baseball didn't have rules against steroids, even though they're illegal in the US"Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment
