The great thing is that Bonds don't care. He will play and break records as long as his knee hold up.
I'm sorry, but there's nothing great about records being broken by somebody who would take any steroid he could get his hands on to do so. It baffles me that people can still defend this guy.

It was funny listening to Mike and Mike on my way into work this morning. Just a few things:

        - The 2 writers for this are former Pulitzer Prize winners in Investigative Journalism. These guys come with some pretty hefty credentials.

        - There was an excerpt from the book where they talked about how Bonds came to the park one day during the Mac/Sosa HR chase. They roped off the batting cage area when McGwire was hitting because the media circus was nuts (you'll know exactly what I mean if you ever saw Mac hit BP during that time).

Anyhow, Bonds asked what it was all about. They told him and he replied "Not in my house" and then stormed over to the ropes and tore them down.

I thought Barry didn't care what other people did and thought? What a spoiled little baby.

I'm pretty indifferent on the subject because baseball has always been a game full of cheats. Corked bats, spitballs, cutting baseballs, filing baseballs, etc. God knows what any player in the past did. Babe Ruth could have used a corked bat in every single plate appearance he ever had.

Steriods are just a different method of cheating in a game that's always been full of crooked players. I'm not defending Bonds by any reason, but I'm just indifferent about it.

ESPN news just reported that Bonds is leaving camp for 'Personal reasons'. Of course the Giants said that this has NOTHING to do with the book, and that he was already scheduled to leave before the book was leaked.

                LOL, classic.

$50 he retires before the start of the season during a whiny rant.

Hey I gotta advertise a little!

All i'll say is that Bonds has damaged himself beyond repair. Remember this is a man who was arguably a 1st ballot HOF'er before '99.

I agree with that comment, that is why the integrity of the game is just a joke, hell there isn't even a salary cap, how can it be an even and equal playing field? The players don't have any true rules or guidelines and as a result they do the human thing and push as far as they can until sometimes it all breaks.

                    Screw MLB, it's a joke.

I can totally see where you're coming from, but just because baseball has a history of cheating doesn't mean it should be allowed to continue. Not that you said that, I just think the line needs to be drawn somewhere.

Most of the cheating in baseball is confined to the first 50 years of the 2oth century. I'm sure there's been some cheaters since but they've all paid a price in one form or another. Hopefully the line is drawn here. If Pete Rose can be banned for gambling then players who intentionally pump their bodies full of chemicals should feel the same wrath.

I feel the same way...I really hope Bonds doesn't go to the HOF. Some people are saying "Well, Barry was a HOFer before the steroids", then I'd answer "Well, Pete Rose was a HOFer before he got heavily into gambling". Bonds shouldn't get a free pass just because Baseball didn't have rules against steroids, even though they're illegal in the US

Nobody brings up that point. STERIOIDS WERE ILLEGAL before testing. Meaning having them is crime. Is murder a bannable offense in baseball yet? Liberlism is a mental diease. Try to justfiy everything in the name of compassion. Sickening
