I hope the Cubs are stupid enough to trade for Ian Stewart, he's all kinds of messed up with his bat.

Yeah. I'd rather go with In House candidates than that guy. Yeesh.

Cubs Have also made contact with Pujols Agent. probably just to drive the price up. Makes sense.

"Report: Yankees interested in Kyle Drabek"

Seems like wishful thinking by the organization. Not enough outings from Kyle. And the outings that Kyle performed in were not good.

I don't mind taking a chance on a player/prospect. But we play in the AL East, you come out performing really well or really bad in this division.

So unless their plans are to start him in the minors, I don't like the idea of him joining the current rotation.

TRADE and groom in the minors seems like a good scenario.

It's not as if Toronto is shopping him around anyway so if I were them I wouldn't get my hopes up..

Bobby Valentine will be managing the Red Sox. That's fantastic.

So the Red Sox let go a 2 time World Series Championship manager and hire a World Champion underachiever.

Yeah, I'm meh on it, but whatever. Nobody they were going to hire was going to make me feel like they got a better manager (though I would've liked Maddux). I guess one positive is V's experience in Japan might work with Matsuzaka better if he's still around, but I dunno.

Drabek is completely messed up mechanics and confidence wise. If i'm the Yanks I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole. Even when Drabek was in the minors last season he was shaky at best. I don't think the Jays are ready to give up on him just yet though as I think Farrell will give Drabek a lot of attention in spring training.

The Blue Jays have also been pretty wary about trading within the division as well so it would have to be an offer that would blow Anthopolous' socks off.

The thing with Valentine to me is that he can be boom or bust. The guy can be very popular in the clubhouse but there have been situations in his career where his personality clashes with the media and with some of the star players. He's also one of those old school guys so expect to see the starters being used a lot more than they were in the last 5-6 years.

Personally I think this has the potential to blow up in Boston's face.

Lewis signed with the Diamondbacks. his signing with the Rangers was misreported.
