Blzer - With all the stadium templates and feedback I've seen from you in this forum over the years, I expect to see this come to fruition with MLB Show's Stadium Creator.

They let you incorporate parts of current ballparks into the new one.
I want to design my own Jays stadium. Possibilities could be endless.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
I hope I'm wrong, but I see expanded playoffs being accepted by the Players Union, so they can get the dh rule. Still not sure how I feel about the universal DH rule. Years ago I would have never wanted it, but now I'm becoming softer on the issue, I'd say I'm 60/40 against (which Is shocking to me) it.
[high horse talk below, spoiled for length]
SpoilerI know there are one or two members on here who continually state in their posts that "even players want the DH, and who better to go by than the people who are paid millions to play the sport?" To that I say: the fans who watch it. Remember, the players will play regardless... they get paid millions to do that, after all. Fans don't need to watch or obey conditionally, although they likely love the sport enough to keep watching. The fact of the matter is though, if there was some weird rule that players loved and fans hated, you're hurting the sport more than you're helping it.
Now, why would players be in favor of it? Think about it: many pitchers don't like to hit, and position players want more at-bats and RBI situations. Their livelihood apparently depends on exactly that. Pitchers only don't like to hit because they're often not very good at it. To that I say: git guud at it!
I hate to even go to this analogy, but as bad as the movie already was, the opening narrative to The Emoji Movie almost made me chuck my remote at the screen. The sad part was how correct they were about what they said.

That's where we come in, the most important invention in the history of communication: Emojis.
I'm not saying emojis shouldn't exist (though I think they should only be used complementarily at best), but their reasoning for existence is exacerbated by the fact that technology had to mold to that younger generation, almost as if the cultural embodiment surrounding that of emojis speaks larger volumes about our inadequacies as a society to survive reading bouts of text and holding each other's attention for more than fifteen seconds at a time.
Why not go the other way? Why succumb to their whims instead of providing them an opportunity to maintain a little more focus and perseverance? They won't learn anything from this. Hell, there is a movie based on them for crying out loud.
I'm not saying that's what the DH is, but I do see the counter-argument being used as an excuse for why pitchers shouldn't hit. They are another position on defense like anybody else. They aren't special. If you want a league for that, fine... the American League it is (honestly I would pull for the DP instead of DH, but that's just me). It was unnerving watching it in the NL last year, though. Combined with the other silly rules like the three-pitcher minimum and the automatic walk, I just haven't been a fan of most things that have come into play.
Granted, there are some things I'm fine with (pitch clock if not obtrusive, mound visit limitations, potential for limiting shifts if done in a way that I once proposed as to not over-restrict), but I'm not sitting here asking for no DH. We have a balance, and I don't see why it can't remain.
Remember, of course players want the DH. But honestly, compared to thoughts on other aspects, I don't see why their vote actually holds more merit in this case when our vote is with our dollars and they make those dollars regardless.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I'd be happy to do anything with it that I'm not limited to. However, first I'll need a PS5 or the game to release on PC.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
As someone who lives in Texas, it's incredibly risky.
But the people running the state don't give a **** (but that's a totally different discussion).
The only saving grace is that masks are required. But again, as someone who lives in Texas, that "requirement" isn't going to be strictly enforced.
I believe slowly building to full capacity would've been much smarter. But we just opened up everything 100% starting today, so the majority of the population think we're totally in the clear and the virus no longer exists inside the Great State of Texas.Boston Red Sox

I don’t think it’s any riskier than being on an airplane. It will be at least a month in to the season before they close the roof and after the novelty of opening day I’m sure people will be somewhat spread outComment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
That's seriously so stupid. Although I'm tired of trying to make sense of anything that goes in in a number of different states because clearly people just don't care anymore.
Edit- Just realized the game in question is against the Jays! Now I really don't like this. Not just a risk for the fans, but a risk for the players too. Sucks seeing Jays not able to play at home due to all the rules up here, but now they'll be playing in the most at risk game in the league.Last edited by Majingir; 03-10-2021, 07:27 PM.Comment
