Man. Tough game to lose. I hate to play the what-if game, but I kind of wonder if J-Hey makes that catch in right. Don't really know how good playing a ton more innings would have been for the Cubs though. Now a quick trip south to Ron Burgandy's hometown before a much needed break

I don't believe there is a player hotter in MLB than Goldschmidt...his splits in June and July are incredible with an OPS over 1.100.

I saw that score and had to rub my eyes. Talk about a killing.

Thanks, Dansby...what a crappy deal for Folty. So dominant and he leaves with 5 runs on his ledger. That soft grounder should have ended the inning...

Move over Trout and Betts; Jose Ramirez is the AL MVP.

Surely Toronto will trade Stroman and get a decent return with his talent and team control for 2 years.

Dude looked great against Atlanta yesterday...I always liked the kid but he's battled injuries thru his career.

A lot of media people in Toronto say that everyone should be on the table even Stroman. The only real untouchable according to them is Sanchez because his ceiling is off the charts if he can just be healthy. I like Stroman a lot but if it means improving the Jays then I guess i'll live with such a trade.

Realistically though I think management lumps Stroman and Sanchez together as untouchables on the ML roster and it'd take a crazy offer to deal either of the two.

Excellent bounce back game after last night's 11th inning shenanigans. No broken bone for Piscotty is the better news though.

Braves tried their best to blow it today. Thank goodness Ozzie said no.

The Colorado and Cleveland statlines are absolute nonsense.

And Andrelton Simmons not being voted into the all star game is nonsense too, but that's another thread.

Last night was much better, even if it was closer than it needed to be. I'm glad Ender was able to an RBI early, hopefully that + the off day give him some confidence heading forward.

Certainly was a weird play, but I wouldn't exactly call it shenanigans (wait, isn't that sexist?? you don't know how the nanigans identifies itself! ) The only thing about that play was did he step back too far to avoid the tag, which he is allowed to do, but how close to home plate can you be before you're called out? Certainly was weird.

The A's have rightfully been the talk of the (metaphorical) town lately but I don't get to see much of them. Thankfully, I get to watch their game against Houston today because it's on MLB Network.
