Josh Barfield is only doing slightly better... Sure I'd take Josh Barfield's 20/20 potential, but right now his .155 avg, .415 isn't something to be bragging about. Plus we've already tried converting a second basemen to third. That didn't work well.

This is funny. The irony of it. "Let's send down Kouzmanoff or bench him in favor of Branyan." I hope the people who are saying those exact words weren't the same people crying unfair when Ben Johnson, Xavier Nady, etc. weren't given a chance to get out of a slump.

On a side note, I'm tired of this offense. No its not just Kouzmanoff that's struggling, but ****** would someone other than Adrian Gonzalez do something? Keep this up and I'll probably just bother only rooting for Peavy. This crap is getting old real quick.

Now you know how I feel with the Giants. No one beside Bonds can get the big hit. They would have sweep the D Back if someone could have deliver when they had men on base. Just sad to watch!

It gets very frustrating to watch. It's been like that for the Padres for a couple of years now. Finally it looks like we have a legit clean up hitter, but the people behind him haven't been giving him much help.

Nothing hurts more than seeing either of the Giles bros get on, Adrian get walked or gets a base hit, then Mike Cameron K's or Khalil Greene grounds out into a double play...

          Oh well. That's baseball.

Surprise surprise, Jake Peavy deals another quality start, and gets a loss.

I would really love to see Jake call out this team because this is inexcusable. I understand teams destined for failure before the season starts will win against teams that are better than them through chance, but when your ace is up there and he gives you a chance to win, you can't afford to piss it away by letting a scrub shut you down. But then again, this is the Padres and everyone with a 6.00+ ERA can hold them to one or two runs.

The crap is getting old. Jake Peavy pitches his heart out nearly every game only for this team to let him down. Instead of wasting his career and his starts here since he is obviously too good for the Padres and the Padres as whole want to perform at a mediocre level, trade him to a team that won't let him down.

I am done ranting. Criticism is well deserved especially when you lose to the Nationals when your ace is on the mound.

Great game by Young last night. This team is only about pitching and defense, and praying that someone gets a clutch hit.

The problem is they have three dead spots in the lineup, Kouz, Cameron and the pitcher. Towers is going to have to make a move sooner or later and I believe Linebrink will be that bait.

They will have to do something. Hopefully Linebrink will be enough. They should have addressed this in the off season and everybody knew that. %$#$#@ cheapskates.

Interstingly enough Jose Cruz has been one hell of a bargain, so LF is far from the problem. Who knew Kouz and especially Cameron would be this big of a problem? I think the chepaskate thing may be a bit of a reach.

What other reason would you give for us not pursuing a big bat in the middle of our line up?

Like I said, considering the fact that Cruz has more than worked out in LF and the trade for Kouz, where else would you put that bat? If it weren't for Kouz and Cameron's struggles we wouldn't be having this conversation I believe.

I would put it, C, 2B, SS, 3rd, Rf, LF, CF I think that about covers it. This has been a problem since 98. I have been having this conversation since 98. When do you think it will be solved?

Disregard 2nd and SS. Khalil Greene and Marcus Giles have been our best outside of Adrian Gonzalez at driving in runs. 3rd, what you expect to make another trade and clog Headley? Sure we might have Kouzmanoff, but I expect him to be moved to LF. We already gave up a promising second basemen who, just like Kouz, has gotten off to a slow start this year and makes sense not only to send him down to AAA, but also prevent Headley from moving up... yeah that makes a ton of sense. RF... good luck moving Brian Giles and his contract. C, let's see what Bard does in a full season before desiring more power when Bowen has had to play more because of Bard's injury.

That leaves LF and CF. Who are we going to get? Ichiro? Not a big bat there but a good bat to have. Andruw Jones? Mix some blue kool-aid with the red one and maybe it might happen.

Don't mix want with reality. The demand for the big bat is high with every team that actually values them. The Padres aren't going to do a **** thing about it even though it's an obvious hold in the lineup that would really help out Adrian.
