Re: The 2009 New York Yankees

You might have seen enough, but the Yankees realize it takes more than not even a full season as a starter in the big leagues for a pitcher to develop.

If the argument is that for this season we need a reliever more than a starter, that's a different argument, but I'm still not sure how valid it is. We have CC and Burnett. Pettitte is a 5th starter. Wang is hurt. Hughes has been dominant out of the pen, and inconsistent as a starter, much like Joba. I don't see what flip flopping them is going to accomplish, and it would take time to ease them into their roles. I'm also not sure what people see that make them so sure Joba is a reliever and Hughes is a starter

Not only that, but our offense was alive and well tonight.

Another nice win. AJ didn't really have it, but he battled through it.

                      Very ugly loss.

Joba sucked. Bruney sucked. Jeter pulls a Castillo, if he doesn't, we probably get out of that inning and are still in the game.

Should not have lost this game, and we have a tough matchup tomorrow.

And Joba needs to stop with this "they hit good pitches" crap in the interviews after the game. He did it last start, and he did it again tonight. He sounds delusional. The hit Figgins had, fine he hit a good pitch. But he said the ball Morales hit out was a good pitch.

Joba's attitude is beginning to irritate me. I'm beginning to feel like this guy is arrogant and completely unaware of his youth and inexperience.

He's quickly becoming a player I do not like because of his personality. The way he shakes off the catcher a million times to throw what he wants to throw...at first it was supposed to be mature, but it's really immature.

You can't get better when you constantly talk about being your best and you're still losing games. That's only going to aggravate fans and he's really getting on my last nerve.

I'd send him down to AAA to work this out. We can't keep on sending him out there every 5th day if he's going to pitch like this. Doubtful that moving him to the bullpen now will help him, for those that want to. It's not like his command is magically going to get better once he gets moved to the pen.

Pettitte falls apart in the 5th, same as Joba yesterday.

At least Hinske has 3 homers in his 2 starts though.

Why would Girardi not use Hughes? There is one more game before the all star game, and CC is pitching, so what is he saving Hughes for?

Another unbelievably bad game. Terrible pitching and defense.
