Another great outing by Johnny last night, he has been outstanding this year.
Did any of you see Mr. Red pitching for the DBacks last night??? What a trader!

So the Redlegs win 3-2 in 10 this afternoon. I didn't listen to the game at work. I just checked the box score and what jumped right out at me besides Joey Votto going 4-6? The team's 14 hits. They left 16 on base today. Glad they won but there were way too many ducks left on the pond today.

        Re: 2009 Cincinnati Reds

How bad the National League is I am tired of hearing about how bad the Reds talent is, take a look at the Giants and their lineup going into the season it was considered AAA at best. National League is wide open and do not want to hear about how this team is not very good, WE ARE PLAYING IN A WEAK LEAGUE. This made me laugh and wonder what Dusty is seeing out there.

Taveras had led off 16 games where he has failed to get on base even a single time. The Reds are not only 3-13 in those games, but 5 of those 13 losses are by 2 runs or less. Sure, 3 of those 13 losses were blowouts, so it probably doesn’t matter if we had Bonds leading off, but the Reds could VERY reasonably be in 5-10 more games this year with one SIMPLE SIMPLE change. That’s a potentially HUGE impact.
Think about it, it’s a pretty crazy stat. All you need is 2-3 more runs over those games, which should be SUPER easy because we are talking about replacing 0 (or even NEGATIVE) production.

Don't worry, not only do we get to see it the rest of this year, we'll get to see it next year too(unless someone gets a clue). Yay

This man has got to go. What the hell was he doing in the 8th pitching Weathers vs Pujols. Then in the 9th he with 2 outs and a EE on second he has Taveras hit for himself, when Gomes and Owings are available. Dusty is lame and it is time for him to go. Nice game by Bailey he deserved that win last night.

Despite being 9-for-18 against Pujols with 2 home runs given up, Dusty brought David Weathers in to face him. As one could have predicted, Pujols hit a 2-2 pitch over the fence for a grand slam and a 4-3 lead for the Cardinals.

Yes Albert was 9-18 career vs Weathers but he was 0 for his last 7 also.
You just dont walk Albert in that situation and put the tying run at 2B.
I know it is easy to say it now that they should have walked him but again 99% of managers in bball would have pitched to Albert in that situation. The thing is the Reds still should have won the game, if not for Rhodes walking the only man he faced and Janish booting a ruitine ground ball the Reds still would have won.
I know no one likes Dusty and wants to blame him for everything but with a 3-0 lead and only 1 out there is just no way you walk him in that situation.
Lets say you do walk him, again there is still only 1 out and the bases are loaded and now you are only up by 2. Do you really think they would have gotten out of the inninig with the lead??? Also I am guessing you guys think Dusty told Weathers to groove one right down the middle to Albert?? LOL
The bigger issue is the Reds inability to drive in runners from 3rd base with less then 2 outs.
It happened 3 times in that game alone and 3 more times the next night. Also it looks like the old EE is back, the guy still cant throw the damn ball!
Also I am guessing Bronson is placed on the DL sometime soon, I dont really know if there is anything wrong with him. But I can see them putting him on the DL so he can take some time away from the game, he is just horrible right now! Once Edison is ready to come back I really dont see how they can continue to let him start. I would much rather go with the following rotation.
              1. Harang
              2. Cueto
              3. Volquez
              4. Bailey
              5. Owings

Where did I ever say walk him? Dusty should have never pitched Weathers in that situation. Bring in someone else besides him.

I would have rather seen Cueto make the All-Star team over Cordero.

                    Like who?
Who would be a better RH out of the Reds bullpen then Weathers in the 8th inning with 1 out and the bases loaded? Again he was 0 for his last 7 vs Weathers.

Yeah me too, hopefully he makes a bunch in the future.

I'm taking a beating here, dude. Thirty minutes from Philly and the Phillies fans are absolutely killing me now for that embarrassment. With our best pitcher on the mound too! I was talking Cueto up so hard... and now look at me.

Did anyone else who watched the game Wednesday night notice the same thing I did? That was Homer shaking off four signs from Hernandez, pauses, Hernandez rolls through the signs again, nods, then throws a fastball down the middle that Werth blasted into the the stands in right-center? When he shook his head "no" those four straight times, I was thinking, "Homer, trust your catcher. Trust your catcher!" I don't know where the fastball was supposed to go but I don't think he meant for it to be right down the middle. Anyway, just found that interesting because I don't recall him shaking off Ramon the whole game prior to that. Still pitched a great game. Didn't get any help on offense.
