Re: The Friendly Confines: The Official Chicago Cubs Thread
He'll find a spot when the time comes.
There is no need to trade anyone at this moment
A suggestion for all cubs fans, stop listening to the meathead talking heads, especially Kaplan.Comment

Re: The Friendly Confines: The Official Chicago Cubs Thread
Theo would laugh at the original deal. That would be atrocious and I would hope Ricketts would fire them all if they did it. The only people that still like the Sanchize are Blue Jays homers and prospect guys who think plus plus stuff will somehow be a cure for minus minus command/control.
That last sentence described Arrieta a few years ago. Just sayin'.Comment

Praise the Theo Barney got DFA'd. Now to do the same to LakeComment

Re: The Friendly Confines: The Official Chicago Cubs Thread
If only Barney could hit over .230 then he may still have a job. Great defender, but might not be able to hit .300 in tee ball.
Lakes a little young and raw too give up on. I think I've seen a few trade rumors about him. Wouldn't want to give him up for nothing unless you literally couldn't get anything in returnChicago Cubs

Re: The Friendly Confines: The Official Chicago Cubs Thread
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Lake should have at least one or more minor league options left.
I think it would be a little extreme to DFA him, honestly. Don't love Lake as much as some, but I don't see the problem letting him strike out a ton on a team that's realistically not going to/looking to win. His potential at least earns him that, even if he doesn't reach it. If this were a competitive team, I'd agree.Comment

Re: The Friendly Confines: The Official Chicago Cubs Thread
You're right, he does have options.
And I dont see the potential in Lake. He had one good week where every team made the mistake of throwing him fastballs.
I dont see it.Comment

Soler is a beast when healthy. Assuming Baez will be up in September, any chance they call Bryant up too?Chicago Cubs

Zero Chance for Bryant. Decent chance for Baez. Bryant's service time is the issue there.
