The other thing about Zobrist is that he's a little older than you probably think he is. I remember being surprised to see that he's 34 going on 35 because he's only been a factor for 5 or 6 years now it seems. That along with us being nowhere near the division lead cooled my interest on him considerably.

It was such a cool atmosphere here all week (and will be this weekend as well). The Direct TV blimp was here for all three and I had never seen that before.Comment

It's honestly about time. Time to put their best foot forward and make the playoffs.

Re: The Friendly Confines: The Official Chicago Cubs Thread
Guys I've been looking up trades and such and I came upon a story about Bryant non related about trades.
Anyone tell me how we got the pick to draft him? Was there a trade involved? Or a FA signing elsewhere after we offer a QO? And we got the pick?
Or was it based on our terrible year?
I'd love the details on how we got the 2013 2nd overall pick.

#WeAreGood lol
Watching this team is awesome. We've waited a long time for this to come together, I'm really enjoying it. This Giants set has felt like a playoff series.
Edit: just to clear this up, I know that tweet is incredibly wrong.Last edited by k_mac; 08-08-2015, 08:30 PM.Comment

Is he being sarcastic or just doesn't know baseball? I read that thing three times trying to figure out what I was missing."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Re: The Friendly Confines: The Official Chicago Cubs Thread
The Cubs have a shot at a 4-game sweep over the Giants tomorrow and it would open up a 3.5 game lead for the last WC spot. This club is playing fearlessly right now. Love the balls on Maddon to tell Starlin he's no longer a de facto starter. Gotta put the best squad out there daily and Starlin's had a brutal year at the plate. Maybe he can redeem his year somehow with strong play down the stretch as a pinch hitter/spot starter.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: The Friendly Confines: The Official Chicago Cubs Thread
I'm not sure, but I got a good laugh out of it. I do know that the Cubs are rapidly approaching having their best record since 2009 and I'm sure that's what he was trying to get at.
If I would have been told that Kyle Schwarber would be up right now and mashing before the season I wouldn't have believed it. It's incredible how well our rookies are playing right now. Schwarber actually doesn't look too bad out there in LF either.Comment
