Me too, but depending on where he bats it may not matter as much.
Hamilton is gonna be such a wild card. You often hear about fast players being a threat, but Hamilton is in a league all his own. Hopefully he's not just relying on pure physical ability because that will diminish with time. Plus, the league will study him hard, so he has to stay a step, PUN INTENDED, ahead.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

re: 2014 Cincinnati Reds Thread
He actually replaced Hannigan with Mez and replaced Mez with Pena. There is also absolutely NOTHING wrong with having Schumaker on the bench. That was a good pick up.
Otherwise, I completely agree. Jocketty has only made 2 significant moves since being here and one was a one year rental. He has gone through, what, 3 or 4 straight trading deadlines without making a move when we desperately needed to?
Jocketty did a heck of a job at St. Louis, and we have improved for sure, but he still leaves me scratching my head a lot. Not doing anything to get a big bat before the season starts is a bad move on his part. It seems he is playing a lot of "what if's." Like, what if Frazier hits .270+ and 30+? What if Hamilton has a .350+OBP? What if Dudwick, I mean Ludwick, doesn't suck and hits 25-30 hr's? What if Mez hits 20+ hr's? What if Cozart hits .260+ for the year? What if Phillips doesn't get hurt and bats .280+ with 25+hr's?
All of that is absolutely possible. But it seems to me that the stars would have to align for ALL that to happen in one season.

re: 2014 Cincinnati Reds Thread
Just read the Reds also signed Thomas Neal (OF). It appears he has been trying to break into the MLB the past couple of years and only has a total of 38 MLB at bats. Did very well in AAA though. Sounds like a solid pick up and a good risk.
This is what MLB Trade Rumors said:
Neal, 26, spent the 2013 season in the Cubs and Yankees organizations. He batted .325/.391/.411 in 297 Triple-A plate appearances and collected two hits and a walk in 17 Major League PAs. Neal is represented by Jeff Berry of CAA Sports.#WeAreUKComment

re: 2014 Cincinnati Reds Thread
As long as his contract is incentive-laden, I'm fine with giving him a shot.
Also...someone needs to start a 2014 thread. Who wants to do the honors?MLB: Cincinnati Reds
NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers
NCAA Football: Miami Hurricanes
NHL: Calgary Flames
