Turns out there is! I lifted the following paragraph from a blog:

In terms of the advanced metrics -- with all the requisite "small sample size" warnings we can possibly give -- Choo appears awful thus far. Heading into Monday, he was already a negative-two on plus-minus and negative-three on defensive runs saved. That means in only 60 innings, he's allowed three more runs to score than an average defender would have in center. His ultimate zone rating -- intended to measure range -- on Fangraphs.com was already negative-two.
And, again, this was before Monday's debacle in center.

So, again, this is all before Monday; having aloud 3 more runs than "an average defender" Choo hit 3 RBIs and had 8 runs; meaning by my math he's +8 offense to defense. He also had 10 hits and 3 walks... This all being said I would assume these numbers are superior to that of an average hitter.

If we take into account the three additional runs he aloud Monday; that's 6 aloud but 16 scored pushing him to +10!

In my mind this is exactly what we expected and in some ways hoped for.

He's been bad so far, but defense numbers don't stabilize until after multiple years. His average outfield UZR is -2, which is below average but not terrible.

I like the advanced metrics and stuff, but seeing this offense with Stubbs and whatever clowns they had batting ahead of the incredible batter that Votto is and seeing Choo there now, it's night and day. Don't wanna say we can deal with Choo's defensive shortcomings but... We can deal with Choo's defensive shortcomings.

Mike Leake having a rough one tonight. It's only the 4th, so hopefully they can turn it around and come back.

I don't know if I mentioned it, but **** JJ Hoover. It isn't his fault we lost this game, but still. He comes in and gives up a run.

Also if Cueto is out for any amount of time this is bad news. Especially since they can't hit consistently.

If Cueto has to go to the DL, the Reds will call up someone from AAA...

while Chapman sits unused in the bullpen.

And here's why I hated Chapman being put back in the arbitrary closers role...

JJ Hoover: 94 pitches since last Friday
Chapman: 29 over the same stretch

                SMH

And since we are talking about the Reds medical staff...it wouldn't shock me if strained triceps turned into Tommy John surgery two to three weeks later.

Yeah this is getting ridiculous with the frequency Hoover is being used while our 2 best pitchers in the bullpen are not used for days.

Anyone know why Phillips wasn't in the lineup yesterday. After being hot on Friday, it didn't make sense why he would be out of the lineup. We needed him last night. I haven't heard of any injury.

Well that was a nightmarish afternoon today.

At least Joey Votto got his first HR.

                          re: 2014 Cincinnati Reds Thread

We were swept by the Pirates...

Logan Ondrusek has no business in the bullpen of a supposed contender.

                          Neither does Manny Parra.

Broxton hadn't pitched in a week, of course he was going to be rusty. And considering that Chapman recorded exactly one out on this road trip, somebody explain to me how we are supposedly better with him in the bullpen?

Speaking of which, there is no excuse to only use Chapman and Broxton, your two best relievers, in just save situations. You essentially are then running with a 5-man bullpen.

                          Dusty Baker....I loathe thee.

Especially when he makes asinine comments like this...
Broxton was pitching for the first time in a week.

“I know,” Baker said. “He hadn’t pitched in a week. (Aroldis) Chapman hadn’t pitched in a week. (Broxton) warmed up three times (Saturday) to try to stay sharp. We’ve got to get him more work than that. The games didn’t dictate him being in there.

“But we’ve got to get him more work. Our bullpen is bad shape. I didn’t want to use Sam (LeCure). (J.J.) Hoover’s been throwing so much. Those guys have all given everything they got.”
The game doesn't dictate which pitcher you bring in.....YOU dictate which pitcher comes in. :/

Our two division titles were in spite of Dusty Baker, not because of him.

Parra needs to be replaced with Cingrani. And as the previous post stated, Chapman and Broxton need more innings. Chapman should be pitching the 8th and 9th and Broxton the 7th until Marshall is back

In Hoover's defense he was lights out at the end of last year and really solid in spring training so I don't blame the staff for deciding to have him on the club. That being said how they have used him is kind of nuts considering the pen we have I guess we have to assume they're just trying to keep Chapman and Broxton fresh for later in the season as they just dump innings on Hoover, I really believe he has kind of been thrown under the bus with how he's been used so far.

Talk about SMH & FML... Heres this from Lance Mcalister's Blog:

                              Strained lat
Roy Halladay went on DL with strained lat muscle May 29 last year and returned to ML mound July 17. Will Carroll, the injury expert I had on the show two weeks ago, indicated the average time missed for such an injury is about 60 days.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't a "strained lat" what Cueto left with durring game 1 of the NLDS last season after like 3 pitches?

Lets hope they can get back on track and win 7 of the next 10 at home.
