Votto hasn't been a power hitter. He's always been a well rounded batter. Not the prototype like Fielder, etc.

I think the homers will come when the pitches come. Pitchers are straight up scared of him. But in a different way then a traditional power hitter. They can't attack any zones of the plate because he has almost no weakness, thus they're attacking outside the zone. And Votto is SMART enough to not bite. He's a hitter to be admired.

My name is Dylan, and I have a man-crush. First step. Lol

No, this is simply not true. Votto has always had a ton of power. The lowest ISO of his career is .222, and that only dropped him down to #32 in MLB. He's a really good hitter that also has power.

I dunno, just never thought of him as a power guy. I guess that doesn't mean he isn't one, it just feels like limiting him to a home run hitter. Semantics in my head.

Kinda like Bonds will be known for his HR's, but he was an amazing all around batter.

Reds have scored only 2 runs in the last 18 innings, after scoring 11 in the 1st game. 15 LOB...THIS stat has GOT to improve.

Oh yeah, well power includes doubles and he hits a billion of those. The problem is a lot of his power is to opposite field; if he pulled a lot more he might hit a lot more home runs, particularly in Great American Ballpark.

I love Choo. It is so much nicer having a guy that gets on baseball consistently at the top of the lineup.

Who knows whats going to happen but it will certainly be hard to let him go after this season if that's what the organization decides to do. He's an absolute stud and good on him to be taking all of the hit by pitches! I haven't seen them all but from the times he's been hit that I have seen it looks like he could have gotten out of the way but chose not to which takes balls and is impressive for him to be doing while with a club he may very well only be with for one season!

The only bad thing about Choo is his agent....Scott Boras.

Chapman's only contribution in the series against Washington...1 IP with a 3-run lead against the 7-8-9 hitters.

I just love how we're wasting his talent.

I was just thinking about him the other day... Wouldn't it have made you feel better if he had said in spring training that he wanted to start? That he wanted to take on the new challenge?

Even if he still ended up in the pen I would have liked for him to say he would be excited for the opportunity.

I championed this guy last year. Our bullpen is that much more complete when he is in it. We undervalue him as Reds fans because he's dominant, but not on the level of Chapman. I argued that he should've remained the closer last year, mostly because I was afraid that if Chapman became the closer, Dusty would resist moving him to the rotation.

Plus he comes out to Kashmir.

It's good to have Sean Marshall back healthy. Now if Dusty wants to insist on bullpen roles, the 8th inning should belong to Marshall.

Choo is absolutely amazing. His defense has been solid in the OF, has a cannon and is leading baseball in OBP.

I love Sean Marshall as well, he's an excellent reliever, and him being healthy is great news. If they made him a setup man then, where would Broxton go? He's getting paid 7mil/yr as is to be a setup man since Chapman is the closer.

Yeah, Choo so far looks like the best off-season acquisition I've ever seen from the Reds.

Yeah, with Frazier hitting you'd rather see him at 4 to get Dusty his coveted L-R-L with Votto-Frazier-Bruce. Then he could put Phillips at 2 and drop Cozart down so he doesn't do so much damage to the Reds' scoring opportunities. You never want to see a guy that gets out more than 7 out of 10 times in your top three spots.

Of course, if Cozart keeps this up he shouldn't even be on a MLB roster.
