I guess it depends on where his shoulder blade pain is. I have scapula dyskenisis in my right shoulder blade, which means the shoulder blade is out of place, due to playing baseball and pitching my whole life. All I have to do is shove it down and back to the left every day and it stays in the general area it should naturally be in. If I don't it sticks out high up, irritating my upper back muscles.

Now I'm no doctor and don't know anything about shoulder blades besides my injury, but if it's anything like mine it shouldn't be a big deal. Just trying to inspire some optimism!

And it's good to hear Chapman is generally okay, that is always a scary scary situation.

Its definitely been a rough spring for injuries. Our depth is going to be really tested this year it looks like. Hopefully we get some good news on skip and its nothing major, but from the sounds of it, it dont sound to good. Skip was going to be a key bench guy for us this year, so this is going to hurt if he is out for a long time.
The rate were going by the time spring is over we might be fielding a minor league club opening day We have a tough schedule right of the gate as well this year. Position player wise we are extremely thin down on the farm so we definitely cant have position players injured, and I dont have much faith in guys like Wang and Francis either on the pitching side of things if they were needed either, matter of fact I dont like either of those guys at all.

Ramon Santiago made the squad. I'm interested in seeing who all makes the squad with all the damn injuries we have. Roger Bernindina has had a phenomenal spring, so I think he ends up making it with Heisey & Pena as well, which would leave one more bench guy most likely. Probably someone who can play 1st/3rd.

I'm excited for Mez to get a shot. It's a risk, and a give and take (less defense, more offense, and younger). I think it'll work out for us. Our biggest needs still remain.

Word is Phillips has been assured he isn't being traded by Jocketty. The Phillips trade train got going damn fast, everyone's been posting like he's a dead man walking. Now a vote of confidence is rarely that, but I think unless we can get a king's ransom for him, it wouldn't be worth it. He's done a lot for this team, and he still is a damn good player. I wanna see what Price does with him. Could get a better deal during the year, too.

I have a bad feeling we're gonna have a very average year. We're talented but there seems to be turmoil. Our great hope is Votto putting up those MVP numbers again. I think a playoff spot or nothing rests on his performance, more so then it already does. I want him to just shut up these critics. I respect the discussions we've had here, it's a fundamental difference of opinion, but it would be great to put that stuff to bed with a monster of a year.

                Still months away.

I can still taste last year's ending. Blegh!
                Here we go!!!!

Reds manager Bryan Price announced that Devin Mesoraco will start the season on the disabled list and Tucker Barnhart has made the Opening Day roster.

Fun atmosphere at the game today. Game itself stunk. Cueto pitched well though. One mistake to Molina. Reds 3 hits but with 9 LOB. The Cards were giving the Reds base runners and they still couldn't knock anybody in. I still think BP getting into that pickle at third for the 1st out of the 8th, or was it the 7th, was dumb. Why wasn't he closer to the bag? You make out 1 while hung up between third and home on a grounder to 1B?

Votto sliding into third was dumb on the dropped ball at first by Mat Adams as well. If he runs through third he scores on that dropped ball.

Baserunning was a weak spot last year and it looked just as bad today as it did last year. Cueto pitched another great game but made one bad pitch.
