And we had 2 challenges anyway because we won the earlier one. It's not like this is football where you're gonna get penalized in some way.

Then he wanted to challenge the fan interference on the first base side, which I didn't understand in the first place. I had to switch rooms to get the HD feed to make sure I wasn't losing my mind. There was no net in front of the camera bay. The ball was going in there whether that dude touched it or not. What the **** were we challenging that for?

That non-challenge was indefensible. You can't make that mistake in that situation. I texted my dad right after, if he doesn't get renewed I won't have anything to say. And then, the grand slam.

Girardi should have been canned after last night. Indefensible.

But how about our starting pitching do what it's supposed to do.

Tanaka and Sevy need to pitch like the aces they can be. And pitch deep into the game and give the bullpen a break.

Two at home. We got this. Series far from over.

I have no faith in this going much longer, it would not suprise me if it got wrapped up the next game. Yesterday's game was the linchpin to the series.

I was furious they did not challenge that call yesterday, Sanchez was adament the ball hit the bat and Chisenhall had the look like he got away with murder.

I was f bombing around the house so much, I think I scared my wife, lol.

I may be bias but this team has rebounded from gut wrenching losses all year.

Win tomorrow. Then it's Sevy. This team isn't going down quietly with this lineup.

            This is going five.

Love this team man. Just so gutsy and relentless. Down 2-0, lose a heartbreaking game.

              No big deal.

Anybody else get the feeling some true ****ery is going to take place and the Red Sox are going to go hard after Girardi if we don't renew him? It would legit make me sick to see him in their dugout.

Also, shout out to Tommy Kahnle. Dude was inhumane the other day striking out 5. I'm seeing a lot of talk about Dellin basically being expendable and it sucks to see, but man, he's gotta get his **** together.

I think both Cashman and Girardi are coming back, this team has overachieved/matured way ahead of schedule. I’m sure behind the scenes the framework of deals are in place just waiting to see where the season ends to determine compensation level. Likewise would have been a good get out of a deal free card for Hal if they laid a dud in the playoffs, could have spun it as changes needed to make next step. IMO the 2 wins in NY saved Girardi job

Betances needs to figure it out or he’s gone in offseason, too many quality Arms in that pen, his trade value still high as he’s still better then 90% Of relievers out there over course of the season and when on in big games

If the Yankees sell high on Betances, I can see it happening. But with the increased value in having multiple closer types in a bullpen, I'm not sure Betances is moved. He costs nothing, is still relatively young, and when right, he's really damn good.

A pen with Chapman, Kahnle, Robertson, Green, and Betances is too good to not keep around.

All very valid points. It would definitely have to be just the right deal where they feel him leaving is less productive then what they add. However as I relook at the team and the farm system any holes on the current roster pretty much has a young mid to high prospect coming to fill that hole. So as you stated they most likely keep him and just stay with hot hand at the time as they been doing

Never know, Betances could be the one to go 5 innings in the ALCS with 11 Ks. He has that switch.

I don't know. I just don't trust Dellin right now. He's been wildly inconsistent and unreliable as of late.

Really don't want to see him in any playoff games. Unless we have a really sizable lead.

Can't afford to mess around with his high wire act. Teams at this point are just too good.

Warren, Kahnle, Green, Robertson, Chapman are all better then he is right now.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

Gotta say... I have very little bad to say about the season. Looking at the roster coming in, I didn't expect us to be competing for a championship so much as struggling for a wild card spot, but here we are. I said before this and next season, I was going to treat as the transition phase before the big offseason but man, this team exceeded my expectations and then some.

We came a game away from being the AL representative in the World Series...and this wasn't even the brightest timeline. Hard to believe how different our team could have looked: if Gleyber doesn't go down for the year, do we make a trade that gets us the Toddfather? If Pineda doesn't go down do we end up with Sonny Gray?

Either way, that's what we got. Houdini is back for another year, hard to see him putting another uniform on for the rest of his career. 3 more years of arbitration Kahnle, 2 more years of arbitration for Sonny Gray. Can't believe how well this team ended up being set up for the future.

Big offseason moves: figure out if Girardi stays or goes. I'm indifferent. If Cashman makes the move I trust it'll be in the best interest of the team, if Hal jumps in as a knee-jerk demanding change I'll be less confident. Tanaka's opt out, is he gonna take it? Hard to say, he had a bad year, but is there doubt he could get more than 3/66 if he opts out? I doubt it. Then CC, if he wants to come back, depending on the price. I wouldn't fault him at all for taking a better offer if he gets one, but I could see, a veteran, a dude who's made a ton of money, choosing convenience and giving the discount. You know he loves it here.

Then the wild card, SHOHEI. What is going on with this dude? Is he coming, can we get him? Should be a fun offseason, I always look forward to seeing what moves are made but especially this year. Seems like the team has a ton of options and is built for success. 2015 Cubs got swept in the NLCS the year before they won, can we mirror that success? Here's hoping.
