Apparently, the Kings management thinks Buddy Hield is the next Steph Curry and value him over Drummond. I guess the "better trade" could have been Drummond, but the point is, they turned Drummond for Cousins straight up down at some point.

With that said it's hard to make sense of anything that the Kings do (I mean seriously, they make me question ever giving feedback on a trade ever again) so do whatever you want

I went with Drummond for my L.A. Stars chise....great contract. I raped 2k trade logic by gettin 2-1's and a 2nd for Lou will instead 😂

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread

First offseason with Dallas using up to date rosters, and I'm trying to free up some cap space to run at Otto Porter.

        DAL to BOS:
        Wesley Matthews and Dwight Powell

        BOS to DAL:
Marcus Smart and 2019 first round pick (lottery protected)

Dallas gets rid of two big contracts and gets a young player to try and develop. Also, losing Dwight Powell frees up some playing time at the 4 for Harrison Barnes and (hopefully) Otto Porter in small-ball lineups.

Boston (who traded Avery Bradley to Chicago in a Jimmy Butler trade in this dynasty) gets a legitimate 3-and-D guy to play beside Jimmy and help them win now. They also get Powell, who is a promising post player. Also they don't have to worry about giving Smart a long-term extension after this season.

        Thoughts?

Jep thanks, looked up different picks and for some I could put normal protections on (Top 3, 5 and 10).

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread

What do you guys think about this trade?

            Nets
            Brook Lopez
            Isaiah Whitehead

            Hornets
            Frank Kaminsky
            Salary filler (such as Sessions/Roberts/etc)
            2018 lottery-protected 1st round pick

Nets are rebuiliding, and they need to get back most out of Brook Lopez who's now added 3 pointers as part of his game.
2 1st round picks were their aim, but that might be too much.
1 young player and 1 1st rounder or 1 young player with high potential and 1 lottery-protected 1st rounder are their best bet.
Though Nets like Whitehead, to match Hornets' needs, they have to give him up.

Hornets are not rebuilding; they are all-in with Walker-Batum, and they need scoring from their big men.
Zeller and Kaminsky average only about 10 points each, so Lopez should give the scoring they need.
Hornets also need a younger backup PG; Whitehead will be a good backup (better than Sessions or Roberts).
Protection of the draft pick allows recovery if Walker-Batum-Lopez trio fails.
Also, Nets are not asking for 2017 1st rounder, so Hornets still get to keep the strong draft class pick.

When is this happening? Just curious because of salaries. Anyways I think that's fair. It was reported Brooklyn just wanted a 1st IRL. I think Kaminsky flat out sucks, but it'd be another player for the Nets to spin the trade as well.

Kings did not want any already-established players as they need to tank this year to keep their 2017 1st round pick.
So, with the Cousins trade, they got essentially 3 1st round picks (Hield (1st rounder last year), their own 2017 1st round pick, and Pelicans' 2017 1st round pick) and expiring contracts.
This trade is rated terrible for the Kings because Hield is like 24 already so room to grow might not be too much (also he can only shoot and not do anything else).
Also, Pelicans were able to add a protection to their pick (though Pelicans should make the playoffs with Cousins and AD).

This is just my idea the Nets could have done or at least tried.
Yeah, salary matching might be alittle difficult.
Nets might have to add Sean Kilpatrick, and Hornets might have to give up Jeremy Lamb additionally.

Personally, I'd much rather have the Pelicans deal than Andre Drummond.

A non defending big that makes 25 million with no real offensive game isn't very appealing.

Since it seems like there is a chance Paul George wants to come to LA, what do I have to give up to get him this offseason? Lakers kept their pick and select 3rd and 27th overall in the draft. Recent trades in mind, how realistic are those 2 picks for George? Maybe add in a 2019 1st as well? Maybe Larry Nance?

Do like real life...give up nothing! And sign him without gutting lakers!

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread

In Year 2 with BKN. I'm using SimWorld rosters and DCs, so anyone familiar with their DCs knows that year 2 is Blackshear, who's a sure fire superstar #1 overall pick. I'm trying to get in line so I can have the assets to trade up to #1 and snag him.

During draft year 1 the pelicans offered me their following years pick (lottery protected) for one of my 1sts (the real life picks they had, I think I gave them Washingtons). So now I have one 1st for the 2018 draft, since Celtics own the Nets pick that year.

My goal is to get two more firsts by trading Lopez and Lin. And then in the off-season trade 3 1st round picks to move up to #1 overall. I am thinking whatever my highest 2 value picks are in the upcoming draft, which is pretty deep, plus my unprotected 1st the following year, and maybe even toss in LeVert and/or Rondae depending what the team needs.

                              What do you guys think?

Lopez averaged 21 and 7 last year and is at 20 and 11 about 15 games into year 2. I don't see two firsts coming back unless it's to a team that's going to draft very late in the first, but a first and second, plus maybe a decent player to match contracts I think would work.

Lin was at 15 and 6 last year and is about the same this year, so I think a contending team would move a protected 1st for him seeing as Lou and Bogdanovic just warranted those IRL.

Just started a new expansion franchise in Pittsburgh. Looking to bring in one star player to build around. Not sure who is attainable. I really wanted Derozan. But Idk if Toronto would ever trade him. I've got draft picks and the typical expansion draft players to choose from.... Is it completely unreal to trade for a playmaker guard?
