It all depends on what kind of big man you're looking for, how the other teams are doing and what you're willing to give up. If you're looking for someone younger with potential, then Okafor should be attainable, or maybe one of Chicago's big (Mirotic or Portis). Guys like Monroe or Vucevic were rumored to be on the trade block in real life, but I'm not sure if they really fit your system. Paul Millsap would be great in Houston, but I'm not sure what it would take to get him, especially since he's in the final year of his deal. Is there anyone in particular that you have your eye on?

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
this trades are super but I don't like those players.
I real like Lopez but much more I like good players from PG or SG or SF.
Maybe I trade Brook Lopez away in exchange for draft pick (top 3 to get Dennis Smith). Smith will be my #1 in rotation on position point guard.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
Playing as the Mavs and kind of a new NBA fan so I don't know exactly how much picks are valued. I noticed there aren't many straight trades that are player for picks. How much would it take to trade for a first round pick in the 20's? A star? A role player? Two bench players and a second? Two seconds?
I'm in the draft currently and was offered Ricky Rubio and bench fodder for Wes Matthews and the 13th pick. I'm considering since I'm probably not resigning Wes and all the good PG got picked already. However I'd prefer to try to part with my 20th overall pick instead. Is Wes and the 20th reasonable for Rubio alone? I see the Timberwolves have been wanting to dump him IRL anyway.

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm going to start a new lakers 'chise. I will use current roster/draft picks but start at the beginning of the season (so I'll still have whole season to play out and trade deadline, but already have brewer and a 1st for sweet Lou trade)
Gonna develop the baby lakers!
My untouchables are
Russell
Clarkson
Ingram
Randle
Zubac
Nance Jr
I really hope the Lakers manage to keep their pick (but I'm not going to try to tank, so doubt it'll stay top3) along with keeping Houston's pick (which I believe is also protected just can't remember how much)
My goal/draft target is the 1st 2 ball brothers, Lonzo will be top 3 and LiAngelo will be lottery or top 10 (right?) Next year
I definitely wanna get rid of Mozgov and Deng!!! (Hopefully a draft pick or something of some value, not just a salary dump...but will salary dump if I have 2)
Let's hear some advice!!!
If you were the Lakers Gm and those were your orders from the boss down the hall....what could you come up with?
Play out the season in tank mode. Hopefully, you get the top 3 picks
Trade away Deng, mozgov, and young for some future 1st round draft picks. You can trade for 2019 or 2020 picks. Teams could be good now but it's no guarantee they are still good in 3 years.
In free agent, try to find players that are less than 25 years old and overall 74 below. Potential prefer B- and up prefer. They are usually ask for minimum salary. Lock them up for 4 years. They will be your core for your bench. Some of them could develop to a starter. If they complain about their playing time or wants to start, trade them for other team's future 1st pick.
If you don't like players in the current draft, trade away your picks for other team's future first round. Never keep any 2nd round pick.
The goal is to get as many future 1st rounds as possible. Some of them will turn out to be top 3 picks. Again, don't force to pick any player if they don't have good potential. I will trade away #1 pick if a draft class is weak. I am in year of 2025, i pretty much have 8-10 1st round picks every year, and many of them turn out to be top 3 picks.
Russel and Ingram will become all star, that's for sure. When they are in their prime and you add another A+ potential player, your team will be dominate. With multiple future first round picks in your hand, you could win the ring and still getting the top 3 picks. That's the DYNASTY!Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
Since Melo is visibly upset at younger players playing over him IRL I am thinking he would be up to for a move from Knicks.
As I am Lakers and currently 0.5 games behind playoffs during Xmass I am thinking about next trade: Melo for Deng, Nance, Clarkson, two 2nd round picks. Is this fair trade? That would make my starting 5 Chalmers, Russell, Young, Melo, Mozgov and my subs would be Gary Neal, Ingram, Noel, Randle, Zubac. I would not play all three big men off the bench but rather move Melo to SF for stretches and play with other big men.

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
I'd say that's a fair trade...if it was teal life they wouldn't get that much (since the world knows Phil Jackson don't want him, killed any value)
But 2 young prospects, Deng to make the $ match...and the picks (definitely don't offer a 1st) .....definitely even as can be👍Recruiting 4 Pro-am Squad 4 #Ps4

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
Will do it with Trade Override since they don't want to do it.
But now this leaves me with a problem...as I only have Russell, Gary Neal, Young, Ingram, MWP as my PG/SG/SF combo..
I had to throw in Sasha Vujacic in the deal and that will help me a bit with my minutes.
So.. I signed Hollis Thompson from FA and now my active lineup consists of
PG'Angelo Russell/Mario Chalmers
SG:Nick Young/Hollis Thompson
SF:Ingram/Melo
PF:Melo/Randle
C:Mozgov/Noel
I really need a scorer with second unit so I plan to play Melo with second unit more than with first unit.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
Just need some advice for An trade I'm currently looking at.
The Blazers irl are not going anywhere fast besides be an 7-8th seed with Lillard/CJ Combo so I'm looking at doing this and wanted some advice.
DET Recieves:
CJ McCollum
Evan Turner
POR Recieves:
KCP
Marcus Morris
17 1st Rd Pick
My thinking is Detroit get someone that get and legit top 10 scorer and someone who can create offense besides the pick and roll while the Blazers get an top 10 defender in KCP to pair with Lillard similar to the Wes/Lillard backcourt from an few years ago. Turner also going to the Pistons allows him to do what his best at and run the bench for the Pistons who need punch off the bench.NBA:Philadelphia 76ers

NHL:Philadelphia Flyers
NRL:New Zealand Warriors

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
Well IRL Li'Angelo isn't anything special, no way he goes top 10. I think he's a 3* prospect right now. He's an at best borderline NBA guy, but there are DC creators who have him as a first rounder. So it all depends on who's classes you use. The 3rd ball brother LaMelo(?) is still only a soph in HS, and he's smaller than his older bros but he's also a 5* prospect who seems to be the quickest and has best shot out of the 3. So he might be the one to look out for if there are any 2020 classes out there lol.Beavers|Red Sox|Buccaneers|NBA HoopsComment

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
In year two of MyGM as the Mavs. I wanted to draft Lauri Markennen in the past draft but by some odd instance the Celtics drafted him at #2 before me. I vowed to trade for him. Realistically I know it's hard to trade for fresh prospect so highly regarded, but I want to know what it would take. He's currently averaging 8ppg 6rpg. I want to offer Seth Curry(averaging 18ppg), Barea, Mejri, and PJ Tucker, along with a 1st, which looks to be a late pick. Would this realistically be accepted? Is it too much too little? I am willing to move Seth since his contract is up this year.
