Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread

Starting a Magic MyLeague and looking to trade off Vucevic and Ibaka to clean house for a full rebuild.

Anyone have suggestions for either or both? Thinking Celtics might want Vucevic for an upgrade an Center so Horford could play his natural PF position.

And thinking Raptors of going after Ibaka to give them that extra push to compete against Cavs...

Raptors, Celtics, Rockets and Heat would all be interested in Ibaka.

I don't think the Celtics would be interested in Vuc (or really anyone who isn't expiring), unless they make a trade for Butler or PG13 first. They will likely have room for another max free agent in the offseason to go along with their current core. Which means there's really no reason to make a move unless it's for someone who will really move the needle.

This is actually a really tough one for me.

On one hand, I think if's great value for the Clippers. On the other hand, Doc hates playing rookies and young players.

I'm sure Phoenix would love to have Griffin to pair with Booker and Bledsoe. However, I kind of feel like Griffin is regressing since his knee injury, so that could be a loft to give up....

Man, I'm torn... I guess it depends on if the Clippers are kind of throwing in the towel for the short term and instead focusing on the longterm; which doesn't seem like CP3's, Doc's or Balmer's style.

I'd be interested to see what others think.

wanted to shake things up in my franchise to give it a storyline, and I lost in the finals to the warriors, I'm the cavs, and playing off the current stories of LeBron wnting melo and that whole friendship thing I came up wit ha crazy 4 team trade that works, but don't know if should pull the trigger. The backstory is LeBron is mad they lost and "sources" are claiming if hes got to deal with a stacked warriors squad he would rather just play with his best friends. so let me know how I should adjust

            Cle gets Carmelo, D-Wade & CP3
Cle send outs Frye, Love, Irving, Shumpert, Mcrae

Chi Gets Blake Griffin, Courtney Lee, Channing Frye, Brandon Jennings
Chi Sends Out Wade, Jimmy Butler, Rondo

Clippers Get Jimmy Butler, Kyrie Irving, KEvin Love
Clippers Send out Blake Griffin, CP3, Deandre Jordan

Knicks Get DeAndre Jordan, Iman Shumoert, Rajon Rondo, Jordan McCrae
Knicks Send Out Caremlo Anthony, Courtney Lee, Brandon Jennings

What I get out of this is Chicago is getting the short end of the deal, so I'm planning on sending multiple picks to them from cle/clippers and maybe even knicks cuz those three teams are all benefiting and man this is a major blockbuster that would never happen but is just for some franchise fun

If the Clips are trading Blake then CP3 is out too, full rebuild time for the Clippers. I cannot see a scenario where they would trade Blake at the trade deadline and just let CP3 walk away in free agency. He is title hungry, no way he resigns with a roster with a big 1.5 at his age. So unless you are in control where your thinking of places to move CP3 as well, I don't think the Clippers would entertain talks of moving Blake. Other than that it wouldn't make much sense for the Clippers to deal one and not both. Not saying CP3 has to be part of your deal, I like your deal the way it is, it's great value but If you want a realistic trade, I would facilitate something for the Clippers to move CP3 for them [ I don't see the CPU doing it themselves ].

Also, I would say no as the Clippers if we were top 4 seed/likely to be top 2. I would be a buyer, not a seller, everything about this organization screams win now or die trying.

For the Clippers : YES PLEASE.

For the Knicks : If we are going by the current value for Melo it works, Im sure they're happyish with Deandre.

For the Bulls : Blake sign and trade right? He is there on a new contract right? And picks, It works.

For the Cavs : This one is hard for me, Kyrie has got 2 more years on a star/superstar friendly contract, as does K.Love, not a superstar potential anymore but star nonetheless. I couldn't trade Kyrie.

It's definitely plausible, you know your own MyLeague and like you said you have narrative built in already with Lebron losing and pressuring the front office to compete. Keep us updated on how the Clippers do, and what pieces are around Butler,Irving, and Love in the "Hows your MyLeague going" thread that's a dangerous sounding team.

Yeah it's very hard to trade kyrie, I'm from Cleveland huge cavs fan n when lebron left he became my favorite player, I do a franchise as the cavs every year so I've had plenty of kyrie, figured give this a try and my whole reasoning with making everyone go to the clippers is making them a scary team, maybe press golden state, and then if I get a cavs clippers finals, lebron will find out if he was justified in lettting his guys go, and if the clippers win it would be like a passing of the torch moment for the league.

I'm looking to get rid of Reggie Bullock and Aron Baynes at the trade deadline. Baynes is a solid backup and Bullock is a good shooter, but I can't determine their trade value. Can I get anything more than a 2nd Round Pick in return?

-Green for salary purposes, expiring contract anyway. Can try develop a young back court of Peyton + Booker, and the 1st round 2017 pick can get you a possible two picks within 1-12 of a stacked draft.

Trying to stay realistic for MyLeague and need some advice.

Playing as Memphis, a few years into MyLeague and it's time to blow it up and rebuild.

The two players from the original five (T.A, Z-Bo, Gasol, Conley, Parsons) have either retired or been traded aside from Gasol and Conley.

Gasol is now 36 years old with one year left on his contract. He's an 84 overall and although his post scoring has taken a hit as well as his athleticism (not that he really had any) surprisingly his mid range game is still really good and his defensive stats are high.

I think dealing him to a fringe contender makes sense. Based on the narratives that have unfolded (LeBron hasn't been back to the finals since 2016 despite holding onto the big 3) I feel like Cleveland makes sense.

Why? It gives Gasol one last chance at another ring (we won one in 2018). If he was going to be dealt I imagine he would want to chase a ring. It also makes sense for Cleveland as it gives them another playmaker (albeit from the post) and a solid big man that can defend (there's 0 on their roster right now). It also gives LBJ another shot, the sun is setting on his career (he's also in mid-30s and starting to decline).

Why not? They don't have much to offer me aside from draft picks. They have very little young talent. Not sure how to make the salaries work.

I also want to trade Conley. I'm thinking to the Timberwolves who despite the promising young core have never made the playoffs since I started MyLeague (year 2021). They dealt Rubio a couple of years ago and Dunn hasn't developed much at all.

With the veteran Conley (32 years old) they would have a serviceable point guard (last season averaged 16 and 9) to help their team make a push into the playoffs.

                          Their roster would look something like;

                          G: Conley
                          G: Caldwell-Pope
                          F: Wiggins
                          F: Favors
                          C: KAT
                          6th: LaVine

The issue from my side is I'm not sure what I could get for Conley realistically. I have three first round picks in the upcoming draft (from when I traded Parsons, Ennis and Wright a long time ago) so I could package Conley with a pick for LaVine but I'm not sure.

Usually never play with an top 4 squad but decided to restart play with the Spurs there one of the oldest teams in the league and have An lot of guys who are older so basically be good for an Season or 2 then blow it up and try and rebuild on the fly and still be relatively good (just like the real Spurs)

Thinking of starting Denjotae Murray soon as the season ends as both Parker and Manu are retiring at the end of the season so run him with mills or either sign an guy that could run with the Spurs thinking someone in the mold of Dragic just an Season while Murray develops.

Also looking to move Lamarcus Aldridge to get an few assets I know i won't be getting a lot since he is in 30s and numbers have declined any ideas on any realistic destantions for LA and packages would be helpful. Also was gonna grab Mario Henzoja from the Magic as there in an full on tank now I wouldn't imagine but an future 1st rounder with protections would be ok.

Zach Lowe of ESPN said that the Jazz have explored the market for Derrick Favors over the last few weeks.

What would be the fair offer to get him to the Lakers?

Lou Williams + Larry Nance + Tarick Black?

Is that too much too little? Should i add a 2nd round pick or something?

He has really been struggling this season and seems like he can't stay healthy but i think he's worth the gamble and could be a starting center to help Lakers defense. Thoughts?
