It's very annoying that we have to hope for some clarifications from the users (as 2kLab did last year), not from the producers.
We should be able to clarify as of the prelude. If you go team roster->highlight->Click L3 for player card should show attribute ratings instead of arrows. At least that was the case in previous 2ks

I'am afraid you miss my point.

In 2k17 I had no information (from 2k or in game menus/tutorial) about, for instance, the differences between the bonus of gold dimer badge to my teammate shooting and the bonus of a HOF dimer badge.
I only know HOF is better than gold, but I do not know HOW MUCH better.

If it will be the same in 2k18, how can I choose if going pure instead of dual since HOF badges are the main advantages of pure builds?

That's what I've been debating myself over what playstyle to make. Having no clue what %'s HOF badges do compared to Gold Im leaning towards going pure playmaker.

F it . I'm going 6'8 LDD / shot creator . The silver shot creator badges will hopefully give me a decent offense

Being a LDD first is in my DNA

If you can find 2k13, use that as a reference. It listed what badges did and gave the difference. I'm almost 100% positive they still work the same, just for some reason they took out the percentage description.

I believe base Dimer was +10% shot success and +4% 3pt shooting, 15/7 for silver, 20/10 for gold. You can assume HOF is like 30/20 based on 17.

And before you respond, I know it's not listed anywhere. I agree that it should be and I never understood why they took out such a vital piece of info. The info for the important badges is out there, though, but you have to look at previous iterations

I don't believe annoying tv at all when he said his defense -sharp had a 60 three pointer max.

Post Scorer/Playmaker is the way to go as a center.

Once they double, that gold dimer to the sharpshooter at the three will be deadly

The more I think about it the more I am inclined to go Magic Johnson route with Playmaker/Post scorer as max height wingspan point guard

It's one of the options I'm considering atm, but in case I will do him as a SF, not PG.

I just can't have Magic as a SF especially since that negates his post scoring and having height advantage over PGs

You can use post scoring as a SF as much you can as a PG.

You have a point about the mismatch (even if 90% of SFs online don't have a clue about how defending the post and have default strength), but I would prefer to make him 6'8"/6'9" without huge penalties on attributes because of the height.

Plus knowing how to defend the post and having a player who should be able to defend the post are 2 different things. I've noticed many truly don't know how to play post D, they just spammed x and doubled immediately

I rarely got ate in the post.. Only when I don't get the ball on offense and I just don't try to defend (Feed the big man) but..

How do you defend the post? Because I usually push them away from the post and don't bite on no moves lol

ya i'm low-key mad that with all the footage from the event no-one looked at player attribute ratings anywhere for their players.

i've decided that i will wait a week to start mycareer and find which real life NBA players I like playing with on 2k18, and then look at their stats and see which ones I can closely resemble with which archetype combo.

I'm also tempted to ignore which badges I get because tbh all I need is my guy to be fast and rangy so I can be an all arounder

Position is fundamental for avoiding easy spin moves and drop step.

Then don't bite on the up and under (while most of people online does), but still try to anticipate his moves (e.g. if he pushes you to the middle, be ready to counter a move to the baseline).

Finally, if he has fully maxed his post scoring and has mastered his release, fade-aways/hooks are almost unguardable unless you are a LDD/protector.
So team defense will be needed.
