Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I recently bought a PS4 for MLB The Show, but will be getting 2K on PS4 after 3 straight years of getting it on Xbox. I was gonna get it on Xbox at first as most of my friends are on Xbox but I mainly play with my brother and a couple of our friends who just sold their Xbox's for PS4s (also part of the reason I bought a PS4, so I could still play with my brother while also playing on Xbox), so I'm trying to figure out what build I'm gonna go with this year, as last year I had 2 different players, a 6'5 sharpshooter SG and a 7'3 athletic finisher C. Last year my main guy was the SG but for whatever reason I absolutely sucked online with him. In MyCareer games I could shoot like 50% from 3 on HoF but online in ProAm/Park I probably shot around 25% and this was with a maxed out guy.
This year, my brother is making his usual playmaking PG (not sure what his secondary archetype will be yet) and I'm not sure if I want to go wing player or big. We have a third friend we will likely play a lot with and I'm not sure what he will be at all. I sort of want to be a 6'9/6'10 SF, but I also really want to make a 7'3 C.
I want to make a guy with at least one of the archetypes LDD, as I really want to be crazy athletic, I struggle when my guy is slow. I've been saying since I stopped playing 2K17 that I would make a LDD this year and now that we get duel archetypes I feel like I have no excuse not to this year. So maybe LDD/Slasher SF or a Rim Protector/Athletic Finsher C.
What do you guys think? Any build you suggest I should think about? I don't want to be a playmaker or sharpshooter.Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
im still wondering what to create to make a Shaq (Lakers 00-04) im torn between
Pure post scorer: HOF: Dropstep, post spin, up and under, bruiser. Gold: brick wall and 4 others.
Post scoring/driving and finishing: HOF: post spin. Gold: drop step, relentless finisher, up and under, bruiser + 5 five other
Post scoring/rebounding: HOF brick wall, bruiser Gold: up and under, post spin, drop step + 4 other.
i checked on 2k17 shaq stats and badges, he has hof brick wall and bruiser, post scorer gold badges, standing dunks and layup 99, strenght 99, post hook in the 90s post fadeway is low, rebounding in the 90 (Lakers) low 80(heat)
what you guys think would be the best build with good strenght but good finihing ability like he has.Comment

Offline your point about having him as a point guard makes totally sense.Comment

But for someone like Shaq, your best bet is probably post scorer and finisher. But I don't think you could replicate his athleticism or his passing or his rebounding...you'll probably be able to do well on your own anyways unless someone else has got the rebounding badges.Comment

Shaq, like LeBron and many of other HOFs listed, are once-in-a-generation players that you can't really create a replica of all their great skills.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Random:
What was the difference between a tall playmaker PG and point forward SF last year?
Any advantages/disadvantages or was it just a label?⛹🏽💀

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
point forward depending on size was more often than not a mismatch with slower SF builds with less defensive deficiencies. (tbh my point forward is an elite defender with maxed out standard 70s defensive stats)
also as point forward your jumper wasn't as nice but you could get contact dunks and again depending on height and all that standing layup and dunk was pretty nice.
i think a major difference is being a PG playmaker you touch the ball more frequently and can set up plays, change assignments etc. while as a SF you are more at the mercy of your teammates and can be frozen out during walk on.
also during offline mycareer playing as a SF you had to literally go get the ball because they never ran plays for your player, while as a PG you have the rock all the time.Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
the post/rebounding, get good strenght rebounding vertical and decent post offense. but layups takes a hitLast edited by shawnydee; 09-04-2017, 04:12 PM.Comment
