pretty set on being 6'9 if I'm a SF and 6'6 if I'm a PG.

Max wingspan, as athletic as possible, so I can guard at least 3 spots, 4 if I'm a SF.

Vertical, Acceleration and Speed with ball all have to be as high as possible, but I want some strength to rebound so I will not go all the way to minimum weight. Then from that athletic base I can start adding finesse to my game with some handles, some fancy finishes, and some post moves. I'm a bit like DeRozan that I don't care too much about threes I just wanna nail some mid-ranges so I have a pull up game.

Just saw that spreadsheet...it looks like a shot creator's shooting attributes aren't that different from a shooter? I feel like I missed something.

It looks like ball handling will get to a high enough level.

If that spreadsheet is truly accurate...I think the shot creator/driver finisher combo looks pretty damn sexy. Doesn't seem like having defender as a secondary benefits too much, but I'm guessing that the badges is what will make the big difference there.

Have you decided on what build yet ? If you go shot Creator / slasher you still get 80s layup and dunk , and high 80s for midrange . Even a capable 3. Going Slasher /shot creator will take a lot away from mid

What do you think will be a better build for SF.

            1. primary slasher secondary shooter
            2. primary shooter secondary slasher.

Any recommendations for a secondary archetype on a 6'8 PF defender?

If I was strictly offline, I would have gone with the 6'8" SF playmaker-post scorer no doubt.
It gives a nice boost to layups and dunks if compared to pure playmaking, and I love to try the post game in 2k18.

Since online is in place (pro-am), honestly I don't know.
That build can be not enough good for spacing the floor and the post game will require a lot of discipline and coordination with my teammates, especially because I would love to experiment some post split actions for using my passing skills, and not just scoring.

Athletic builds go well with Defender builds. So Driving & Finishing would go well i believe. Maybe Glass Cleaner would go well with it as well

I think I will have playmaker as one, so its a toss up between shot creator and finisher and which order.

From playing 2k17 all I know is that if I don't have good handles and good speed on ball the game isn't as fun to play (especially coz I play with randoms so being at the mercy of passing ball is not fun).

It depends on how speed with ball is affected between the two, but I'm pleased to see layups go nice with the shot creator build. but I prefer the slashing badges, I really want acrobat and the floater badge. but mid range deadeye and difficult shots will also be nice.

                      I agree.
Forget any offensive style (sharp, creator, post scorer), it will be pretty much useless as secondary archetype if combined with defender.
I see also playmaking not relevant for a PF, unless you are gonna playing in an organised offense.

I think sometimes having a build that isn't a post scorer but maybe a playmaker with some post skills is just as effective, the most important thing when posting up is being able to pass out of it once the double team comes, so I'd recommend just having that in your skill set without actually being one of your archetypes. Thats why I make large playmakers, so i can get the mismatch on a post up and then fling the ball cross court for a 3 off the double.

I do think a post scoring shot creator build would be lethal at the 4 and am tempted to make one. Like a 6'8 undersized PF that can finesse up the big guys.. Basically be a Melo build.

If you go with slasher, handle and speed should not be much affected no matter if it's primary or secondary.

Otherwise with creator, you want it as secondary and playmaking as primary.

you think? the bars for handles is lower on slashers no?

so the trade off is greater I would have thought.

I'm gonna have to really research see which gives me the most in rebounding and defensive stats as well tbh. I want to be a solid all arounder with max athleticism. Lets me determine my play style instead of my archetype.

yeah, basically that's what I did in 2k17, when I think I was one of the 2/3 point forwards in the whole world (lol) to spend some upgrades for post scoring and strenght instead of maxing out midrange and 3pt.
