Maybe I'm a little more obsessed with the post game and dunks than you, and I don't give a damn of breaking ankles (while I love the triple threat)
i've broken like 5 ankles? all I need is a step and I will blow by, and missing dunks is frustrating. This is why I love the triple threat too. Jab step, explode - bucket or assist, be in position for rebound and putback or assist.

I do like dunking, but if you've got a look where you can dunk it, you can lay it in as well. I do love dunking on people i've posted up, but its not important to me, i can always sky hook it.

But ya I wish I got more touches in the post but spacing is always bad when I'm playing walk on, so never really get the opportunity to iso at the high post and guarantee points.

Typing all this makes me want one of my own...
ha yeah if I can't get my primary build to play like that I will dabble with one for sure.

I'd rather go small tho and be a threat in transition too, or be able to create a lil more space and not be so reliant on the post up.

His only complaint is that being bigger led to his dribbling skills being mostly ineffective (No elite packages) So it remains to be seen how that will work this year.

I actually think having post up, if you're utilized correctly, would be more beneficial. It opens up more offensive moves from mid-range to the basket, that you can pull off. Being smaller would require a different play style. But you know yourself the best.

Yeah that's why I loved the P&R maestro badge.

If the screen was good, it gave you a huge boost in whatever you decided to do: pull up J, contested layup, dunk in traffic, dime.

The HOF version of that badge and dimer are the only reasons why I see still a 10% chanche of going pure point forward in 2k18.

This year, I will have 2 players for offline and online. I will have a slashing playmaker SF for offline.

For proam and park, I will create a rebounding paint protector Center. I will start immediately with the Prelude.

Forget any offensive style (sharp, creator, post scorer), it will be pretty much useless as secondary archetype if combined with defender.
I see also playmaking not relevant for a PF, unless you are gonna playing in an organised offense.
Wha? I can have playmaking on a PF this year? That's awesome. If speed with ball is still tied to playmaking I might roll with that. Getting a stop, grabbing a rebound and initiating the fastbreak was my favorite thing to do in 2K17.

You can have it as secondary, not primary.

What's the maximum size for good dribble moves ? Now I'm thinking 6'9 is too big but I don't want to be too short . I don't care about ankle breakers but I need to create shots

I think in last year's game, the tallest you could be is 6'7? My 6'6 shot creator could do the elite moves, and I think 6'7 was right on the line at 75 for ball handling. Soon we'll have official knowledge of how this year's game will operate.

If you play with a squad who can put you in the right situation/mismatch (Sounds like you got one) you'll get the same benefit anyways.

The guy we played with took shots that came with no more than one or two dribbles, and he was rarely attempting many dribble moves anyways. He just attacked the open space that his defender left him when he was facing up, and it was splashes all game. We nicknamed him Olympic Melo lol. When he was in the high post, smaller guys couldn't defend him, and bigger players couldn't stop those quick 1-2 moves to the basket.

I know his frustration happened because he was slower in transition and had a harder time breaking people down on the perimeter, so that's where his weakness on offense was (Also had no standing 3) but he was dominant at what he should have been dominant with. We surrounded him with a glass cleaner, sharpshooter, LDD, and Playmaker, and it fit pretty nicely (On offense that is)

True. Maybe Glass Cleaner would be a better option since I'm undersized

Yeah I'm considering it too but only coz I think that might be the only way to get elite handles at 6'9 and great acceleration.

I'm also trying to figure out what's the tallest I can be without losing my speed/dribbles. 2K has a long way to go to be viable for E-Sports with all this stuff being hidden and left to speculation.

Honestly it's just best to wait and see how things are.

There's pretty much a 100% chance that between now and release date, we'll learn something about attributes/leveling up that we didn't before, and that will affect your decision.

Essentially, I think anything is viable, you just need to understand what sacrifices you're making and make sure you're OK with that.

I'm going Slasher/Playmaker, and I know I probably will not have a 3 ball this year, but as long as my mids drop and I can get to the rack I'm fine.
