so the trade off is greater I would have thought.

I'm gonna have to really research see which gives me the most in rebounding and defensive stats as well tbh. I want to be a solid all arounder with max athleticism. Lets me determine my play style instead of my archetype.

You're right...I just double checked (I have the spreadsheet with the attributes always open in these days... lol): shot creator and slasher as secondary have the same yellow cap (23 out of 25).
But creator has an additional white cap (24), while slasher doesn't.

Thats why I make large playmakers, so i can get the mismatch on a post up and then fling the ball cross court for a 3 off the double.

Put him in an iso with space at the elbow. Unstoppable.

I do think a post scoring shot creator build would be lethal at the 4 and am tempted to make one. Like a 6'8 undersized PF that can finesse up the big guys.. Basically be a Melo build.
It is a very lethal build. I played with one like that before the October patch killed Pro AM (Also our teammate had a kid) and he was our primary go to in half court. Can shoot over smaller players and get by bigger ones.

ha same. I put nothing in midrange and 3 pointers but still make them coz the shooting is so easy. Especially off the dribble coz I put points in that.

I look forward to doing the same.

I like Pick n Roll maestro, Acrobat, Relentless Finisher, Tireless Scorer, Difficult Shots, Flashy Passer, Break Starter and all the defensive and rebounding badges. Would be nice to get catch and shoot as well but I don't care about shooting unless its a pull up mid ranger.

In 2k17 I was fine with having gold and bronze, if I'm bored of the grind I won't bother coz I want the game to be fun, so if Hall of Fame is too long to get, I won't bother, altho with my play style if I get any of the ones listed available as HOF I'll probably get them by just doing me.

I wanna emulate long rangy players with elite athleticism.

If I go PG - I'm thinking Penny, Magic, John Wall, with a bit of Westbrook's rebounding greed.

If I go SF - LeBron, Paul George, Ben Simmons, Melo, Michael Porter Jr., Brandon Ingram, Kelly Oubre.

Will happily sacrifice outside shooting if it means I can set up teammates, grab boards and post up smaller players, but shooting off dribble off the PnR is an important skill so I have 3 ways to make people defend me off the PnR.

Speed and athleticism let me be everywhere on the court, providing spacing, forcing switches, being a pest on D, grabbing rebounds, pushing the pace and finishing breaks. In the half court I move the ball or exploit a mismatch, and will happily give up an easy 2 points to create a 3 for someone.

Having length means I'm effective at all of those things more than other players, thats why I want to be slightly oversized at my positions so I can utilise them and if I'm pushed to SG or PF or even C, I can be an athletic or size mismatch too and adjust my game accordingly.
Blood in my mouth beats blood on the ground.

The last 2-3 years I've been a 20/10 PG. It's cool but I'm getting bored of that playstyle now. This year I want to be an offensive force that can go off for 40 on any given night.

Shot Creator/3 Point Shooter it is then.

My team is using one as a SF. Think it would be effective at SG as well. We just want our SG to be lights out so we are going to put a pure Sharp there.

                  I'm contemplating a few styles.

                  Post scoring+Rebounding PF.

                  Rebounding+Atheltic Finisher C.

                  Shot creator+Sharpshooter SG.

                  And finally either;

Playmaker+Defense PG or possibly Slasher+Shot Creator PG.

I did toy with the idea of a 6'5 PG with rebounding and post scoring but apparently that's impossible.

would be hilarious to make a post scoring rebounding PG thats 6 foot.

crazy hops and can slide between peoples legs off a post up lol

I dont think PGs will able to have Post Scoring or Rebounding as a Primary skill, only as a Secondary skill. PF and C can't have Playmaker or Shot Creator as a Primary skill. SF is the only position that can have any build as a Primary.

But I would imagine Shot Creator/Post Scorer for most positions is a good build. I think for non-PF/C position, Rebounding goes well with Driving and Finishing and defender

Maybe I'm a little more obsessed with the post game and dunks than you, and I don't give a damn of breaking ankles (while I love the triple threat)

with a post scorer archetype? Sounds interesting.

I'm gonna pre-make like 5 builds I settle on and have a main, and then whenever I get bored of one just play a lil in the other.. and a post scoring shot creator 4 will definitely be one of them, with the others being my attempts at PG and SF athletic all rounders.

Then I'm gonna have a paint protecting defensive build with rebounding stats but being undersized so I can guard on the wing for stretch 4s and 5s, as well as mash it up with the big guys.

He had a 6'10 Shot Creator but we let him operate in the post out of triple threat. Now that dual archetypes are in, a big shot creator/post scorer would be even more lethal. His matchups would start calling for help which opened up space for everybody else.
