been 7'3 since 2k15, going to continue the tradition in 2k18. 7'3, max wingspan.. not sure what weight im going to do this year though thats the hard part for me. Last year i had both a 7'3 340 pound post scorer and glass cleaner and dominated with both builds.

Might actually slim down this year though i dont know depends how the game plays. im leaning towards post/cleaner and ideally you'd probably want to be max weight with this to body your opponent in the post and battle down low for rebounds but i think ill be even slower than last year lol.

Anybody know the best height/weight combo to get the maximum speed/acceleration for a tall playmaker PG or point forward build? Thinking of going Kawhi/MJ size. 6'7" or above.

I'm really debating this. Went 6'11 last year and thought the speed advantage helped a lot in park. I was able to defend small teams more effectively, beat 7'3 bigs up the court in transition and still grab boards at a decent rate as a GC. On the other hand, in Pro Am I struggled more. The speed helped less in a 5 vs 5 game with less space and I felt like I struggled more on the glass against the giants, even non GC. It was also difficult to score inside as a GC at that height and I felt like I got posterized a decent amount.

My record was like 700-300 in park but I feel i want a more universal build this year and maybe 7'1 or 7'2 would be better.

It's pretty hard to say what good height/weight is until we've really got our hands on the game to feel it out. Because for a lot of us what matters is user vs. user interaction.

In 2k15-2k16, max height/weight players were everywhere and it didn't affect them much. Last year you could tell the differences a bit more, but it seems like for the most part, size was still an advantage.

            Shot Creator/ Anything looks good.

I mean with Shot Creator I think it's just so much more versatile. You have to be able to score essentially anywhere. But it's not OP because if you're not skilled at creating space for mid range shots, you will handicap yourself and be an average player at best. IMO, it has the greatest upside to dominate but also takes more skill to actually be good at.

Seemed that way. My max speed playmaker guard was constantly getting held up by bigs regardless of build. It was hard to take advantage of the mismatch. Height and wingspan seem to take priority over everything. Hence why I want to keep everything the same but go a bit taller.

I think that's one of the things they've said tried to address with the new game, that a small-big switch would be much more of a mismatch on the perimeter than in years past. Hopefully that's the case, we'll see.

But yeah, that's one of the reasons I regret making a playmaker instead of a point forward.

Yep but with the new gameplay now, the ball handler and speed boost will be reward apparently. Like there is not this "wall" defender animation anymore

So I think we can take pleasure again being a guard attacking 1 on 1

Actually an underrated build on 2k16 was a 6'0 outside shooting guard. You get more ball handling and three point shooting the smaller you are in that game. Last year was different.

I saw that in the gameplay blog but I'm skeptical to trust it as of right now lol.

Now instead of it being a set number of times, you get XP based on your moves and that XP is added to the badge progress , but you don't technically get to choose

Even that is a better alternative than last year. It is one of the biggest improvements for MyCareer this year, the. Badge Progress meter. No more blindly knowing how many more times you have to do something to get badges. Ankle breaker and most of the shooting badges were frustrating to get because you pretty much had to count how many times you did it because no way of knowing.

Now I can focus on playing the way I want to during games while getting XP, then during Practice focus on getting those badges.

But as a Offline gamer, I hold Attributes higher value than Badges. Last you could have max 3pt, but without badges( and offensive consistency) you would shoot poorly from 3. I also like that Personality badges are attached to OVR compared to random

Is this upgrade system actually designed for us to pay for the attribute upgrades without any knowledge of what the upgrade reflects as an actual rating? [emoji53]

It also comes down to it you're a Online user or Offline. For Online I think Pure Archetypes is the way to go if you mainly play a certain way. Or Archetypes that have more HoF badges. But for a offline user like myself. HoF badges aren't a priority. I'm more concerned about Attribute caps and what types of badges I am awarded.

Who the heck grind for badges just to play offline?
