I will be a pure perimeter defender going for HOF defensive badge. Gonna love breaking peoples spirits when all of their offensive badges are worthless with me guarding them.

But when you play good players/teams they will need some offense

In my opinion, defense means more than anything. Was a Lockdown in 2k17, staying a pure lockdown on 2k18. I did not struggle on offense once throughout the whole year with my lockdown. Not once. Yes, you your stats are gonna be lower in terms of shooting. But I'm gonna go with a SG LDD again because
A. You have solid rebounding allowing you to grab offensive rebounds with a high vertical.
B. Move on offense much quicker as your acceleration , speed are far better than others, allowing you to be more open on cuts.
C. Them HOF badges are going to turn defense into offense as quick as possible.

Another thing that affects shooting, is your jumpshot, badges, ratings, hotspots, probably offensive consistency and some of those other +1s. I took the time to Max all of those out, get every badge possible (51 I had) and get all my hotspots and I was very confident in my shooting as a LDD with 60 3pt.

if post/driving finishing gets brick wall, posterizer,lob city finisher and pick and roller as the 4 other gold badges 8 total(bruiser,drop step, up and under, relentless finisher) i might go with that.

layup = pure post scorer
dunks higher than pure post scorer
rebound a little lower of pure post scorer
higher speed than regular post scorer
higher vertical than post scorer (helps with boards)
strenght a little lower than post scorer
post offense decent.

or if post/glass gets hustle rebounder, put back king, posterizer, relentless finisher as the 4 other gold , 7 total.(up and under, post spin, drop step) might go with that

layup little lower than pure post scorer
dunks equals to pure post score
rebounding higher than pure post scorer
speed about the same as pure post scorer
higher vertical than pure post scorer (about same level as post/driving finishing)
strenght same
post offense only lose 2 pts

Props man .just pointing out that your three will be much lower than a 60. You can't get every badge anymore . Hotspots aren't as strong .

But you will shut people down . I don't play much park though like yourself .

I don't care. I shall make a pure LDD, spam the hell out of X against the kids in the park and then sit back and wait for the abusive messages to flood in from dribbling idiots who got kicked for bad teammate grades.

I doubt I'm going with LDD as my first build this year; however, there certainly is a sick, twisted, pleasureable feeling from using a LDD when you know that you are literally breaking someone emotionally. Nothing feels quite the same as grading another player out when they thought they were a "dribble gawd", or holding someone who averages ~20 ppg or more in pro-am with their sharpshooter to going 1/13 fg and seeing them break, and give up, or rage quit.

Props to you as well. I browse these forums every few days and respect what you have to say Everytime I read it. I am gonna get in the lab, take some notes to compare LDD dual builds and decide what Im feeling. Regardless, Thanks for the insight.

i just checked and seriously i think shot creator/defensing, defending/driving and finisher(Super athletic and strong) would be better than defending/shot creating. if you want above decent offense.

Absolutely, I'm considering making a 3 and D SF/PF tweener, a la Shane Battier at some point this year for pro-am, won't be the same, obviously, in terms of defensive impact as a pure LDD, but hopefully the clamps will still remain!

Played a game of 21 in Rivet City with my PG LDD against a playmaker and a center, got both of them kicked because I stole the ball so often.

Of course I lost the game because I couldn't score against the CPU but I didn't care, it was worth it for the angry messages. Legit one of my proudest moments in almost 30 years of playing video games.

lol when i used to play 21 with my 6'7 ldd i would post them up cause my strenght was high and i raised my post scoring..

After reviewing the NBA 2K18 estimated archetype attributes, My first build on prelude will be a SG 6'6 200 Max wingspan Driving & Finishing Defender. Primary: Lockdown Secondary: Slasher I'm thoroughly impressed with the comparison to a pure lock down. You are giving up 4 points on steals, lat quickness, strength and blocks and 3 HOF badges to get better ball handling, dunks, layups, while keeping everything else including 57 3pt. Only thing I lose out on is 3 other hof badges, while gaining a few extra badges for being a dual. Decisions..Decisions..
