Sometimes as a LDD in 2k17 the top pro am teams would literally use the Kawhi game plan on me. What I mean by that is they would isolate me away from the offense .

Ex. 1.) Team had a point Foward at the point. He kept getting by my point guard teammate and dunking on him. 6'9 vs 6'3 in height. I switched onto him and ripped him 2 straight possessions. Forced the SG to be the ballhandler instead. Originally I was guarding a 6'10 LDD who then starting dunking on my 6'3 point guard teammate. It was a lose lose. I couldn't guard everybody.

Ex 2) the Stretch PF I was guarding averaged 20 ppg. He tried me a few times but I contested every shot and forced misses. He tried me in the paint and failed. By the third quarter he decided to stay out in HOF limitless range territory. I couldn't leave him . He didn't even move on offense. Not even a cut.

lol I had to tip my hat to those guys. Smart. But one problem we had as a team was a go to scorer. A shot maker. Pure buckets. We had 1 sharpshooter. The Playmaker is a pure pass first point. I will fill the void . That's why I'm going Shot creator primary and defense secondary to still force guys to isolate me lol.

Damn!
Seems that this year everybody in my pro-am team wants to be a playmaker-something in the backcourt e nobody wants to be a sharpshooter or a big.


I'm starting thinking to a back-up build to my SF playmaking-post scorer (Magic style) as a sign of good will on my side.


no way I'll be a sharposhooter (I suck at getting green releases), so I am thinking of a 6'8" PF post scorer-playmaking (CWebb style).


Opinions/suggestions?

Hot spots are still in the game, but beluba said on twiter they'll be less effective than in 2k17

Damn it. I never Really was down with hot zones in online play. Hot zones are realistic but everyone's will be red (or reset!)

There is gonna be a lot of speed on the court in this 2k. I don't think people will be able to help themselves this year

Speed is the new king of the league. I messed around with my max weight and height post scorer yesterday and decided I don't feel like a lumbering fatass this year, as much as I loved using that player.

Also, if the OP could add this to the original post I think it'd help everybody so that we don't have to hunt the spread sheet down if we don't have it bookmarked.

Yikes...a pure ldd looks so bad on offense lol. I think someone mentioned mid-range was nerfed and it seems that way

You know, I'm not even gonna lie, if nobody has over mid-to-low 70s 3-pointers in 18 besides Sharps, I'll probably be sagging off of everyone. You all hear '30%-34% three-point shooter', I hear '66%-70% chance of bricks and car parts being thrown at the rim.'

I'll live with those odds. We'll see how this goes, lol.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. And I'm taking a guess and say those percentages might be if someone is wide open. I'll take those odds all day long.

This game is supposed to be in esports this year right?

Why can't I see what badges im getting and what my stats will be before creating a player.

Games like dota 2 also have 100 characters to pick pick from and you know exactly what each one does and/or is capable of doing.

Picking blindfold doesnt make any sense.

Why can't I see what badges im getting and what my stats will be before creating a player.

Games like dota 2 also have 100 characters to pick pick from and you know exactly what each one does and/or is capable of doing.

Picking blindfold doesnt make any sense.

Prelude to me will be almost useless since I won't spend a single VC for updating blindfold my build.

Didn't really hit me till now, but this makes me hope they have regular teams to play with in the Prelude. Because damn, this entire week is going to be spent with a 55-60 (Does anyone know the floor yet?) OVR player, and it's not like we can make them again to try out other archetypes because the archetype for a 55 OVR is a BUM.

I feel like it has to be somewhat intentional by 2K to prevent homogenization/cheesing.

It is intentional, they want you to experiment with builds which only leads you to buy VC since it will take you ages to earn it for free.

They have to learn they can't beat "the community". Inside of a week someone will have crunched the numbers and figured out the "best build". We already have multiple spreadsheets just based on screenshots and the prelude isn't out.

Oh please, they want people to mess up their builds so they have to buy new ones and keep spending on new characters that are the new "cheese"
