Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

All these posts are making me want to create a LDD. I didn't last year, but I think I will this year as my build for when friends aren't around but I feel like walking on.

I can go the entire game not touching the ball without caring (Unless I see people playing stupidly and I want to do something about it) And like yall said, it's pretty fun watching someone's grade go from a C to a C- to a D- to YOU GONE.

We played a team last year that I think, had 3-4 LDD and an athletic finisher or post scorer. I was super skeptical about that kind of lineup, but with all the badges, they completely wrecked us. I was impressed. I think a ball-moving LDD at the point would be tremendous if you surround yourself with spacing and players who can get buckets efficiently.

You are giving up 4 points on steals, lat quickness, strength and blocks and 3 HOF badges to get better ball handling, dunks, layups, while keeping everything else including 57 3pt. Only thing I lose out on is 3 other hof badges, while gaining a few extra badges for being a dual. Decisions..Decisions..
Noooooooo, you have to stay strong!

If reaching 99 means your badge go up one level like we all hope, that means getting the archetype with the most gold and silver badges is the long term dominant builds

Narrowed it down to 3/D or 3/Reb for SF on park and Athletic/Reb Center for park and pro am

Yea, but realistically the majority of people won't even sniff 99 overall so that shouldn't be the end all be all when you decide what build you create.

I want 99 but I don't have the time to play 24/7 unfortunately.

I'll probably get to 95 or wherever they start to artificially slow down your progress. That's usually where I stop.

I think instead of going with a 6'8 SF Shot Creator/Post Scorer build I'm going to go with 6'6 SG or PG Shot Creator/Post Scorer build.

Going to be either Old Man Kobe at SG and bully them in the post or Gary Payton/Oscar Robertson/Shaun Livingston at the PG..and still bully them in the post because YOU KNOW they aren't going to have anything in strength.

And then at 6'6 I can slide to the Small Forward without any problems contesting if I go max wingspan. I'll be able to play all 3 backcourt positions based off of IQ alone. And at 6'6 my lateral quickness won't take too much of a beating and with my high strength they shouldn't be able to drive past me so easy with blow bys I'm hoping.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

I echo the lockdown/paint protector love, I liked it so much I had three of them last year (PG, SF and C). Didn't really use the PG too much and the SF was towards the end but the C I enjoyed using more than my glass cleaner. Which brings me to this year and I'm still in debate mode as to whether to make a glass cleaner with defense secondary or the other way around. I like the 6'11" height myself for the speed and lateral quickness and the dual archetypes will hopefully mean that rebounding isn't as tough against 7'3" glass cleaners.

I wanna stick to 3 characters to avoid long loading times if the game is anything like 2K17 so that leaves a PG playmaker with 3 point shooting secondary and finally a SF lockdown with 3 point shooting.

You know, I'm not even gonna lie, if nobody has over mid-to-low 70s 3-pointers in 18 besides Sharps, I'll probably be sagging off of everyone. You all hear '30%-34% three-point shooter', I hear '66%-70% chance of bricks and car parts being thrown at the rim.'

I'll live with those odds. We'll see how this goes, lol.

72 3 point rating easily turns into a 82 3 point rating if they get hot via easy buckets.

Same for a 66 3 point rating turning into a 76. They go from, just got to play the drive to, damn, now I have to play up close on him and put a hand in his face.

That's why EVERYONE should be scared of the Post Scoring/ Stretch build. If that Post Scorer knows what he's doing he's going to be hot the whole game and then he's going to be able to stretch the defense out and get even easier buckets because now the opposing center has to go from patrolling the paint and making defensive rotations to scrambling to get a hand in the face of an opposing big man who's already hot and probably has the corner specialist and deadeye badge.

I can already tell Post/Stretches are going to be annoying.

Don't forget hot spots (provided they're still in the game) and gold/HOF dimer which add boosts as well. This is exactly why I want to forego any scoring as a C and go for defense and rebounding at a smaller height. Gonna need that speed to get back down and going to need that defensive stopper to try and put an end to some of the madness. Ideally I'll still have a decent dunk rating so I can contribute in some way.

This potentially could be the year that having a defensive player on your team is hugely important compared to rolling with a flat out scoring squad but we'll have to see how the game itself plays out.

Not sure how much they tuned the offense for lockdowns but I dominated with mine last year...in proam and park..it was impossible to score on me without cheese and even if you did the shot % was terrible...plus I had like a 90 speed and 80 strength...I bullied my way to the basket at will...and with hot spots I drained 3s

I bounced the archetypes off of what I'm actually good at and Post scorer/lockdown did seem to be my perfect fit

Lockdown as a secondary is going to help a lot of people who make taller guards and bigs

There is gonna be a lot of speed on the court in this 2k. I don't think people will be able to help themselves this year
