Sorry to give you a 5th option, but I would say Athletic Finisher / Post Scorer.

Where my big men at ??.

What builds are you dead set on making, or want to experiment with for the park/am?

Are you going classic 7'3 or are you mixing it up again this year?

I'm leaning DEF/Athletic this year but I'm concerned about it's effectiveness in the park/am.

After talking with my friends that I run with on Park, I'm going 7'0 PP/AF. They both fit perfectly into my play style and I should still be able to get rebounds at a decent rate.

My play style as well, are you concerned at all with being 7' compared to 7'3? You'll be a better matchup against 3-4s but those big 5s might dominate you on the boards.

Not really, a lot of those 7'3 guys just tried to rely on height to get boards so I would out-poisiton them regularly. If I had trouble I would usually be able to muscle him far enough out of the paint for a teammate to come in and grab it.

I thought Athletic Finisher was a no-brainer for a prime Shaq build. You get all those aggressive big man contact dunk animations based on what I've seen. I don't run bigs though, so take that with a grain of salt.

Do you play pro/am often? I had a 7'2 GC so I'm not sure exactly how a smaller center fairs in the more crowded environment.

Sidenote... Reb/PP looks really appealing as well. Any thoughts on that?

I play park more but I did play roughly 150. Pro-am games and didn't have a problem, I got a good amount of double doubles and a few trip dubs.

I actually thought about a GC/PP build but one of my friends is only good at being a catch and shooter hence the AF. I still think it would be a good build.

I am going with a PF 6'10 about 240 LDD/LDD. I think that will give me the speed to defend the perimeter at the park and for pro am I will pray that my team has a fat center to cover for me.

I really want to play on the smaller end so I can be more athletic for PnR defense and to provide better help defense.

I made a small center last year...and I got crushed in the paint. I was bullied.

I made another big one to see the difference. And there was one. I wasn't any more bullied and crushed.

So yeah, size mattered a lot and I hope that won't the case this year.

How small are we talking? Below 7'?

Is there that much of a difference between let's say 7' and 7'3?

Yea thats a dope 4 build. Lock it down against the bigs and still be able to cover the other teams best scorer. Hopefully you don't end up the 5 though.

A lot of it depends on the build . I wouldn't go with an undersized Athletic finisher at center . But an undersized lockdown is a great build .
