Definitely go 6'10" instead of 6'11" so you can make a small forward with 75 ball control and get the pro tier dribble moves. The badges for that type of player are also better at small forward than they are at power forward.

I just made a small forward 6'10" 251 playmaking slasher tonight, after seeing what a beast the sapphire moments Blake Griffin card was in MyTeam.

Being a small forward will also save you from having to face 7'3" players at the power forward, since those are so common this year.

Don't bother lowering your wingspan for this build to get better shooting, because 2K capped the max three rating at 68 and max mid rating at 75. You can't move those numbers any higher, even if you pick minimum wingspan.

Made a 7'3 max everything slashing stretch five. I really like the options I get from screens if only more people knew how to run screens lol. Anybody else made this build?

As every year, I cannot decide what archetype I want to go with. I always base my players off of real life ones. I am really intrigued by the thought of having a big man with a mix of post scoring and sharpshooting in whichever order is most optimal. But I don't know how layups and dunks would work with that build. I am also intrigued by a point guard build, but it seems to me dunking is really hard for players that are not very tall and have a low dunk rating this year, more than last year. But at the same time, I also love a player that can hit a three. I may go with a Sharpshooting Slasher at Small Forward, although I know that is not the most efficient of builds.

Finally made a max height/weight Glass Cleaner as my third character and have been really impressed how much impact he can have even as just a level 85.

Easy to get high grades and lots of XP without really trying. No offense out of 3 feet, but even with minimal badging can snag everything and throw deep outlet passes better than my PG.

            How is the defense?

I made a 7'1 280pound rebounding protector and also also is bad but he is fun to play with on defense. He is mediocre as of now but i bet that has to do with not having any badges,

Your build is one of the three I was considering for my big man: Glass Cleaner, Rim Protector, or Rebounding Rim Protector. I ended up with Glass Cleaner as I thought it would be easier to use with randoms.

Post defense is solid even though the stats aren't the best. Max height/weight/strength/reach has it's advantages. Hands-up contest is really strong but not a ton of blocks or steals.

My badges are all bronze at best so it can only improve.

My GC is a 92 (all badges fully maxed). The D is fine, if you don't jump much. The build is heavy and slow, so recovery times are meh, even comparing to similar stat builds (i have a 89 slashing rebounder as well). The 99 str definitely helps, so does hof bruiser.

That said - in my opinion the defence, especially paint defence is very bad in this game (atrocious even), with all the clipping, bad 3 sec calls, almost non existent traveling calls, and the ability of 165 pound guards to push a 340 pound centers out of the way. And the game rewards bad defence (all those body/elbow blocks on pump fakes for example), so maybe more "jumpy" type is better on d...

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

I have a 6'11 250lb post scoring rim protector as my main type. I did the build thinking more about NBA games as it's a realistic NBA build, but I didn't anticipate neighborhood games and the fact most other bigs are 7'+ and max weight, so I get thrown around a bit.

It's still a pretty fun build for me though. Just got to 80 OVR and have max block and a silver badge for rim protector. I usually get 2-3 a game in the park, and cause a lot of other havoc on D. I also had mid 70's steal so when one of the cheesy bigs tries to go instead I tend to just spam steal until I spook him off or cause a foul - fair response to cheesy bigs IMO.

One thing I'm a bit disappointed about is how low the inside offense ratings are despite it being a secondary archetype. 75 post ratings is lame IMO, when other dual types seem to get a much better deal with their secondaries. My other build is a 6'8 250lb slashing point forward, and his slashing is comparatively much better than my big's inside offense. What's worse is it seems some inside animations are basically 0% success even when lightly or uncontested (and yes I'm aware of layup/inside shot timing). Particularly anything inside off the backboard - almost never goes in.

What's the closest I can get for a Kevin Love type of build?

This is funny as hell. Just said that i was going to create a rebounder primary / sharshooting Secondary PF . Think it’s a great fit for pro am.

I think it's an interesting build but I have my doubts about how well you would shoot with a 75 3 point rating. Granted, having shooting badges on silver helps a ton, but I don't know...

We already have a PF defender primary / sharpshooter secondary on the squad who shoots well with a 75 three. PG has gold dimer and floor general . I also have a shot creator with a 74 three and only corner specialist bronze shooting 50% from three in pro am. Not worried about shooting at all .

Sharpshooting primary is a great build too but i prefer the badges of reb primary .
