What do you guys think would be a good build for the biggest player on a park team?

I was thinking defensive 3, but some of the hardest games I've dealt with is when the other team's 3 is a ball handler.

Yeah looks really solid. If I make a second guy this is it. Shoot decent from everywhere with great d. No other combo seems to offer that. Everything else lacks a three.

has anyone tried a playmaker primary / lockdown secondary PG?

i think this might be usefull for pro-am, because everyone tries to score...many assists and the opposite PG will hate you if he's a typical ballhog/ego-shooter

        which height/weight/wingspan would you recommend?

Do you think it would be worth it to go with playmaking Primary? Or would I lose too much of my 3 Point rating?

Any bigs have a problem with the game making you slide on defense it the paint ? Happenening to me a lot when somebody punpfakes or if the offense lead passes.

I can feel the difference between gold rim protector and HOF rim protector. It feels bigger than the difference between silver and gold.

Yep, it's a major flaw in the game's defensive mechanics.

Pump fakes and lead passes will magically slide your defender out of the way so that the offensive player can slide in front of you and trigger a dunk animation.

It's a bad combination of archetypes because the other team can just ignore you and play 5 vs. 4 until you get into the mid range on offense, while the playmaker's base defensive ratings are so low that the defensive secondary archetype doesn't help him much on defense.

Just make a tall pure playmaker with max wingspan IMO if you want to make a playmaker that can play good defense.

Which mode? I find neighborhood games feel a lot different as a big than NBA and even pro am (so it's not just about latency). As a rim protecting big, the movement required to trigger a moving block attempt vs a standing block seems different in the neighborhood - I often do a standing block attempt when I was trying to do a moving one. Also I find the clipping and feel inside to be very different and usually glitchy at best. I guess in the neighborhood more than others 2K have to appease to all types of archetypes and probably bend the laws a bit to achieve certain outcomes.

So, with all the hype on the last pages, I am thinking of trying the the Sharpshooting Defender build at the SF. Has anyone used it in pro am? Any suggestions on height/weight?

but how bad is the grind from gold to hof?

I made a 7'1 rebounding rim protector and i barely just got bronze main badges.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe:

                        Bronze: 12,000 points

                        Silver: 24,000 points

                        Gold: 72,000 points

                        HOF: 164,000 points

If those numbers aren't exact, it's roughly what it should be.

To clarify, for example, once you get your bronze badge - you will need 24,000 additional points for silver.

The HOF grind is real, but doable. I've gotten a few HOF badges on various guys - Post Spin & Drop Step on one, Defensive Stopper on one and then I've gotten P&R & Dimer on a pure point forward.

I think the numbers are correct. HOF might be 168 but like you said it's close enough.

Anyways, I wouldn't know how easy it is to level up rim protector, but getting to HOF depends on how many XP you get for doing it in game, and if there's a drill that gets you a lot of points doing it. For example, I think tireless scorer/difficult shots is the easiest HOF badge to get because the drills you can do gets you an absurd amount of points (You could get 2500-3000 for both in one drill). But for something like One Man Fast Break which doesn't have a fruitful drill and doesn't reward much in game? Gl;HF.

I still haven't seen anyone with HOF fast break lol I swear that's gotta be the hardest HOF badge, maybe Bruiser?

Anyway, Rim Protector isn't too bad IMO, you can get a ton of "Good Shot Contest" during a game and a drill like, say, gauntlet Post D gets you roughly 3k points like you said.

Yeah trying to figure out the same. Seems like 6'8 is a good height for guarding a range of people + contact dunks, but can't figure out the weight. Made one at 210 yesterday. Felt good in prelude, but not sure if means anything. Any suggestions at 6'8 sharpshooting defender weight?

I found defensive stopper is worse to get than rim protector in HOF. Mostly because you can do the chase down artist badge as well to increase Rim protector.

Then again I am a 6'10 PP so I have speed to get into position for blocks.
