Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Problem is now, with park at least, it's live or die by the 3.
I've had games where my team has gone 8/19 (all 3s by 1 guy so he could finally get gold deep range deadeye) and we obviously got a ton of offensive rebounds.
and the opposing team went 10/10 on offense, honestly played very good defense as well (few shots we made were ridiculous).
They lost. That has to be the most incredibly infuriating and demoralizing experience in park lolComment

Agreed, I like it better this way.

I gave up that mode early last year; just too repetitive. It's either guys trying to be Steph, or trying to be dribble gawds. Got old really quickly. It's a shame as I practically lived in park in 14/15/16.Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I still love the park, I primarily play with the same 2 guys anyway and we've done this for the past few years so we're used to it.
I will admit though, playing in the park is similar to a game like, let's say, Ghost Recon.
Incredibly fun when you play with your friends and you're talking in a party but it's just OK if you're playing with randoms and gets old/repetitive insanely quick.Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Which mode? I find neighborhood games feel a lot different as a big than NBA and even pro am (so it's not just about latency). As a rim protecting big, the movement required to trigger a moving block attempt vs a standing block seems different in the neighborhood - I often do a standing block attempt when I was trying to do a moving one. Also I find the clipping and feel inside to be very different and usually glitchy at best. I guess in the neighborhood more than others 2K have to appease to all types of archetypes and probably bend the laws a bit to achieve certain outcomes.

Park was so fun in 14-16 . Feels dead this year though. Funny the dual archetypes make myplayer feel even MORE restricted than past years . But that’s probably just me.#1 Laker fan

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Well, the game has been out for about 2 months. For those of you who made one archetype and stuck with it - did it turn out like you had hoped?
I feel like I finally broke the glass ceiling on my playmaker. I can shoot, pass, dribble, and defend 1-4. Last couple of weeks of Playground been pretty damn fun lowkey.

The only problem with that build is finding four other teammates who can shoot the ball well enough to give you enough floor space to drive inside.
In real life, the 76ers surround Ben Simmons with shooters who can keep the paint open for Ben to work inside and run lots of two-man action with Joel Embiid.
In 2K18 Pro Am, 90% of centers are inside builds who just stand underneath the rim begging for the ball, blocking off any potential driving/cutting lanes until you either give them the ball or watch them get called for a three second violation, which in real time, is actually more like five or six seconds before 2K's refs finally blow their whistle.
So with that said, if anyone wants to be the Redick, Covington, Saric, and Embiid to compliment my Ben Simmons build in NBA 2K18 Pro Am, just send an Xbox Live message to gamertag jyoungADLast edited by jyoung; 11-19-2017, 07:39 AM.Comment

Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I’ll second this. If you have a defending archetype you should try to find other players with defending archetypes and play with them
Yesterday i played against 3players with defending archetypes. Like a two way sharp, two way shot creator and a 2 way playmaker. My team literally could not pass. So many loose balls and they all played great D so every jumper was contested. Think i was the only dude that scored and that was because late in the game we finally realized that the only way to score was to go ISO with no screens

Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Last time i posted in here i think i was talking about how OP the Playmaking Sharpshooter is as a center. That still holds true. It was so OP i got him to a 90 ovr and got bored.
So i made what i feel is the true Ben Simmons build and i have to tell you guys it may be the best small forward build. 6’ 10” Slashing point forward
Pros
Elite defense. You can defend positions 1-4 at an elite level with good stickwork. Defensive stopper goes to silver i think and blocks and steals are high. I get a lot of blocks with this guy. He’s also very fast. I can keep up with smaller PGs.
Ball handling is OP when you factor in he’s 6’ 10”
Rebounding is great. Iv been averaging 10 ppg 8 boards and 10 assists in the walk on with this guy
Dunking is amazing. Without the badge i catch damn near every oop thrown to me and i dunk on a lot of ppl
Cons
3pt shooting is inconsistent. I have my release MASTERED and it’s still hit or miss from 3. 3ball max out at 73 and you CAN green at 73 but if your playing with players without dimer your gonna be inconsistent
No other cons i can think of honestly
Final thought is just the defensive ceiling of this already OP build makes it a monster. It makes sense seeing it’s modeled after Ben Simmons and he’s destroying the league

Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I'm only up to an 89 overall, but so far, I'm pretty satisfied with how my 6'10" playmaking slasher has turned out:

May have to add you and play with my Sharpshooter with you. I’m looking for tall playmakers to run with

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Here is my 6'5 90 Overall Pure sharphooter Mixtape. Now I personally hate pure sharps. Having to guard someone from half-court is mind-boggling but it's 2K. When you're the pure sharp, having the ability to Make half-court shots in the park and shots from near logo in Pro-am is very fun. I'm not going to recommend anyone make a pure sharp, because my main player is a defensive player and I prefer defense over offense, but that's me. Anyways hope you enjoy!

I'm seriously tempted at trying a build just like yours. Did you make him a SF or PF? Also, what wingspan and weight?Comment
