I was looking to be more of a scoring guard but it hasn't really panned out. I'm more of an 18ppg and 11apg with a couple of steals. I just notice that at times it's hard to get to the rim because my player is slow. Now I know you unlock first step or whatever with an 86 overall ball handle and I haven't gotten there yet. My entire game is about getting quality paint touches.

What do you guys think? Should I just be patient and build this player or switch to playmaker/slasher?

    UPDATE

So I looked up some Youtube videos of pure playmakers and stuff and they honestly don't look all that fast this year. Am I wrong?
I’m not a huge fan of the slashing point guard, but maybe it’s just me. In some games I see them do ok but in a lot where there’s 4 7’3 bigs lurking around the paint, it’s kinda sad watching them continuously try and penetrate. Plus I get frustrated when I kick out the offensive rebound to see them drive back into the group of 6 all standing under the basket.

The good ones I’ve seen mix up driving and finishing with kick outs or drop offs to their bigs. That way if I jump for the block my man is sitting open behind me.

That game I posted a few posts up was a slashing point guard. He went 2/10 and I had 9 blocks, probably 3 or 4 on him.

Yeah I normally do a good job of noticing when it's time to kick out or not. And I do a good job of shooting the 3-ball. I was really wondering if the speed difference with playmaking first was worth it or not.

I also have a shot creator/slasher and a PG, but my PG build is that of a Playmaker/Sharpshooter. I favor my SG much more (Excellent finisher and bucket-getter) but last few nights I've experimented with my point guard if we need one in pro-AM and the difference in speed is really noticeable. Since mine is a sharp build I can't finish like yours, so I do have to play differently, but the speed really is noticeable.

Hey guys looking for some advice. I want to create a 6’7 SF Slashing/Defender so I can equip all the contact dunks. I want him to be fast though and have at least an 80 lateral, which means I’ll have to drop his weight from default 225 to 210 lbs. This also drops his strength from 88 max to around an 83.

Do you guys think this is a bad idea? Is 210 lbs too skinny for a 6’7 SF?

Scottie pippen was skinny and dunked on people while playing great D :-)

In 2k it depends. I think 83 strength for a sf is pretty good guarding 1-3 and even most 4's.

I have a 200 lbs 6'7 pg slashing shot creator and play some nice D with 60 strength.

i left the slashing rebounder gang tired of seeing everyone with that build.

7'3 Rebounding primary, post secondary 340 pounds is my new bigman, i used double rep weekend to get him to a 90. loving the build its not great at one thing but all-around good

the strength/positioning on it is amazing, reliable mid range, great rebounding good dunking/layup and a good enough post rating to keep you on your heels on my next move.

its definitely a truck type build very slow but i know how to use it and not afraid to mix it up inside/outside

Thoughts on a 6'8 shot creator primary sharpshooter secondary build?

The attributes and badges look great on it

has anyone tried a Two Way Post Scorer and how does it work out for you?
(Post Scoring first, Defending second) or would you recommend different archetypes combination with Post Scoring?

i thought about goining to the spurs or cavs with this build

how about height & weight for this build?

Do you think he'd be better with lowest weight or max? How's the speed on yours?

That's what I run with, all around solid player, my only complaint is how long it takes to grind tireless scorer and mid-range deadeye
