Can you get floor general or defensive anchor by picking playmaking or defending as your secondary skill?

Or does playmaking/defending have to be your primary skill to unlock the appropriate badge?

I’m slow on the response but I have a pure playmaker (6’4) with maxed speed with ball (99 speed and acceleration once cap breaks achieved). Depending on your teams playstyle I think the build is underrated. With 99 passing, it seems like unless you’re playing cpu, the passes just always seem to get to the target. And once you have difficult shots to silver they have to respect you off pick n roll.

primary . Still waiting for our D/3 PF to hit 91 and he’s only a 89. Our Play/Sharp PG is close at 90.

I hit 91 and I’m a shot / def. has to be primary . I just want to know how much it affects the game .

Since it's a little harder to shoot and a lot harder to play defense this year, I figured it could help a lot to have someone with floor general and someone with defensive anchor on the court.

This is the kind of thing that the game should be explaining to users in the menus. If 2K is going to make this game an esport, then it needs to tell players the exact statistical benefits to badges instead of providing vague written descriptions.

It shouldn't take dozens of hours of work from a 3rd-party website like 2K Labs to find out what's actually going on under the hood in this game. Esports are supposed to be completely transparent about what's happening during gameplay.

It's easy to get bruiser. Just leave your guy open and hard foul when he goes in for a layup or dunk.

You get like 2000-3500 per game

Yep, I've seen a pure post scoring C 7'3 340 lbs that had HOF Bruiser, Post Spin and Drop Step.

Pure playmaking 6'4 PG is such an under appreciated build.

Still contemplating between this and a SF 6'8- 6'10 pure playmaker build for my next build.

Might just go 6'10 min weight / max wingspan for the fun of it, too many PG's in park.

I think I'm one of the few that made a heavy wingman (6'8" x 240 lbs).

When maxxed out I should get 80 speed, 74 speed with the ball (already have this) and 70 strenght that I guess is one of the best balance you can get with your myplayer.

Clearly I had to sacrifice some speed (especially speed with the ball is a pain coming from the 94 of my point forward in 2k17), but being able to switch and defend on some big men in pro-am without being phisically abused, or bully your average matchup is quite satisfactory.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

Has anyone been able to get a pure playmaker's open three point rating to an 80 by lowering the wingspan?

They get a maxed out 79 rating and a starting 75 rating with default wingspan, but when I go into offline mode and lower the wingspan to minimum, the starting open three point rating stays at 75.

This leads me to believe that there's no way to boost pure playmakers' open three rating above 79? The only way to know for sure would be to level up a bunch of times and max out that attribute, which is tough to do with the attribute upgrades being controlled by 2K this year.

If you can't get to an 80 by lowering the wingspan, which has historically been the point at which greens become significantly easier to hit in 2K games, then you might as well just max the wingspan for defensive purposes and take the -2 rating deduction to open shots.

At two clicks below default wingspan, the starting rating for contested threes decreases by 1 point, and moving threes increases by 1 point, but open threes stay the same (75).

Yea I think the hof dimer is underrated as well. Seems like this year more people are more worried about offense and stats. But for me personally I like to be more role player builds take what’s give. And facilitate no matter where I’m at.

Originally I wanted a Gary Payton build but starting to think pure playmaker is the way to go here. It’s hard for me to decide bc I know I want our team to have one solid wing defender with out sacrificing one of the other players 3 point archetypes. I just don’t see enough lockdowns and every build is catered to scoring outside of pure glass cleaner now. I tried talking to people I play with saying let’s have 2 maybe 3 two way players but not everyone has money for vc

The reality for me is that I’m gonna have to find new people to play with outside one guy now bc most aren’t playing as much as they have in past. I don’t have to be top tier team I just want to play wit competitive people that I can have fun with win or lose

I made. 6’6 pure playmaker didn’t spend to much money on lvled up to a 70 ovr played couple walk ons I can tell will be solid once have a mid range jumper for sure. Just gotta figure out dribble animations more my style and I’ll be good to go
