The way MyCareer works is that upgrades in the early game are worth like +4, whereas later they're +1. And that's just the upgrade amount, we have no idea what the base attribute is for the archetype. I don't think it's possible to even semi-accurately predict an attribute cap by looking at the amount of upgrade blocks. We're just going to have to wait for the prelude.

That's fair! I just wish there was more info out there so I could better prepare for this.
Guess we will just have to wait and see.Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Defender/3pt gets 12-13 blocks in 3pt shooting. Depending on position, height, weight I'd say mid to high 70s in that category. Definitely 70s though. That's passable as a shooter. If they get catch and shoot that should be fine to hit wide open 3s.
Your ballhandling maxes at like, 8 though, so you're strictly going to be cuts or catch and shootLast edited by ViolenceFight; 09-03-2017, 05:25 PM.Female Russell Westbrook.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
In 2k17 I'm pretty sure I created over 25 myplayers trying to find what works well for me and in tandem with my less flexible friends. It worked out because I enjoyed playing as a lower overall. It made things more interesting. But with this year having everything tied to your overall, I think I'm gonna run with only a couple
1. Slasher/Shot creator- 6'6 SG- This is who I am at heart. I'm not really a three point guy. I want to be able to attack the rim and finish or get my fouls, and also be able to deploy a crafty mid range game if I need to.
2. Rebounding/Athletic Finisher- 6'10 PF- This build still gets hof putback king and hof hustle rebounder (I think. I seen it for Center not Power forward) which is just lovely. I want to be able to crash the boards hard but still be able to rim run and roll hard. There's a big chance you'll be able to do that as a pure glass but this combination makes the most sense to me. I don't want to feel like I'm doing things my player shouldn't be able to do. Power forward so I'm not guarding giants all day. 6'10 so I can guard them if I need to.
3. Pure Sharpshooter- ?'? SG- Still gotta be able to space for my teammates sometimes.
25 players with only 7 archetypes. Now they said 189Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
After looking at the Attribute Cap list, I'm leaning towards a Shot Creating Defender SG. Should have a 85-90 Mid Range, 80-87 Speed, 75-80 Ball Handle, and good enough Defensive skills
Not sure which type of Big man I will create thoughComment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I think max athleticism builds will be alot rarer this year, any build that has Shot Creator, Sharpshooter, Post Scorer or Rebounder as a Pure or in a Dual archetype will have less than max athleticism. Online play "usually" is an uptempo, run&gun style of play so it will be interesting to see if that stays the same or the game slows downba bit.
As someone who loves defense I've decided on a Big and Perimeter Build, for the big its going to be a Pure Defender somewhere between 6'9-6'11, i mainly played my PP like a Slasher offensively in 2K17 and judging by the caps dunking will be reasonably good plus having great Athleticism.
For my perimeter build im going to be a 6'7 PG Slasher Primary Defending Secondary, i had trouble in 2k17 guarding 1's with my 6'7 playmaker so the boost to defending will be nice, plus this build gets HOF Posterizer, OMFB and Acrobat.Last edited by TheFinalEvent97; 09-03-2017, 08:25 PM.Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Seems like he would be playmaker primary with slashing secondary at least in his prime. I am sure you could switch the order as well

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Something that would really help in deciding and developing your build would be the total number of available upgrades that we can get, via both VC (yellow caps) and progression (white caps).
As in 2k17, it's not likely that you can max-out everything, so I need to understand how many upgrades I can spend and how priotise them.
Any idea about that?
Or maybe do you remember how many upgrades we had in 2k17 before reaching 95 ovr?Comment
