Online will devolve in to a singularity no matter what, Goffs. It'll start with most HOF badges, then someone will come along with a video on YouTube of an archetype with no HOF badges, but like, more other badges smashing people. Then everyone will go that route.

I understand how powerful some badges are, but let's see how it actually plays out in regards to other badges.

Pretty sure Slashing/Defender and Post/Defender had like 27 badges, while most sit around 22-23. They also have like, zero HOF badges.

I'm not really trying to refute your point, I'm just sort of playing devils advocate and thinking in terms of what badges are. I'd really like to see the available load outs before any rash judgements. Those 4 HOF badges could end up being a trap and making that player worse off based off the other collection of badges it has. We don't know yet.

i cant wait to see the attributes for dual playstyles. if i was a betting man id say

      primary 80-85

      secondary 60-65 MAYBE 70

the info we got on 3D players having their 3 pointer max at 60 pretty much lays down the blueprint on what to expect regarding your secondary style

If you remember the attributes from last year, this should give you a good idea of what to expect.

I have a little question for you, I want to be a flashy PG "a la" Curry or Irving. So I wanna chose first Playmaking to have great dribbling ability. But I'm hesitating for the second archetype:

Should I take: - Playmaking and Shot creating
          Or
          - Playmaking and 3pts.

Or May be should I take Playmaking as second?

I'm talking for My career NBA, whats the best for you?

The idea of most dual archs with no HOF IS BALANCING. I'm not sure why that is hard for people to understand. People don't realize how many bums there are in the NBA. Most can't do multiple things good AND be AMAZING at one thing. That is what you call a superstar player. Adding "at least 1 badge" to every DUAL arch would be silly as it does not reflect the average talent in the NBA.

Give 2k a break. You kids don't watch enough sports to truly dictate what should truly be in a simulation game to begin with but since y'all are the consumer, 2k at least lets yall speak. Soon, yall opinion will not matter. Yall seen what happened to 2k17 when yall cry for patches. 2k17 was arguably the worst 2k in a long time. You wonder why it took 5 mins to boot up.

Realize what you are asking for before you ask it.

I would pick ballhandling as primary and three point shooting secondary. You would have near maxed ball handling, passing and high speed. Your three point shooting would be in the 80's. You would have all gold playmaker badges and the shooting would be silver badges (corner specialist and ect).

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

Now that I've learned more about the new archetype system, have to say it's a bit disappointing. I thought having 2 would mean a main one at full capacity, and then a second one at a reduced capacity, but if you choose 2 you just get watered down versions of both. Hitting shots against the cpu HoF this year was a lottery after all the tweaks, so having a watered down combinations of 2, will probably be worse than having a pure, which is what made the whole 2k17 cycle monotonous to begin with.

Have to see how it pans out I guess...

Definitely agree. You need an above average three to be those guys. There 8 gold badges with five going to playmaking. Chances are 2-3 gold will go to shooting hopefully.

Although pure archetypes seem to have 4-5 hof and 4-6 gold. Your guess is as good as mine what those badges are considering we only had five distinct archetype badges before.

I didn't factor that the ones without HOF badges get more badges than others. Interesting....thank you for the enlightenment lol

Now you made me reconsider my build. Need to know just how effective the badges are this year.

In 2k17 I'm pretty sure I created over 25 myplayers trying to find what works well for me and in tandem with my less flexible friends. It worked out because I enjoyed playing as a lower overall. It made things more interesting. But with this year having everything tied to your overall, I think I'm gonna run with only a couple

                          1. Slasher/Shot creator- 6'6 SG- This is who I am at heart. I'm not really a three point guy. I want to be able to attack the rim and finish or get my fouls, and also be able to deploy a crafty mid range game if I need to.

                          2. Rebounding/Athletic Finisher- 6'10 PF- This build still gets hof putback king and hof hustle rebounder (I think. I seen it for Center not Power forward) which is just lovely. I want to be able to crash the boards hard but still be able to rim run and roll hard. There's a big chance you'll be able to do that as a pure glass but this combination makes the most sense to me. I don't want to feel like I'm doing things my player shouldn't be able to do. Power forward so I'm not guarding giants all day. 6'10 so I can guard them if I need to.

                          3. Pure Sharpshooter- ?'? SG- Still gotta be able to space for my teammates sometimes.

If their 3pt shot maxes at 60, then 2k will have to tweak shooting so everyone with a 60 rating can hit shots again; twitter will be in uproar at having a shooting speciality and not hitting any shots.

It's a good money earner; I've not seen them confirmed, but you can pretty much guarantee they'll be back. They've confirmed Mountain Dew tournament returning, and the prize for that was permanent +5's.
