I think being max size will allow you to carve out some space on rebounds even against some of the better rebounding builds. And if you get the ball under the hoop, it’s over. Or a few steps of momentum on a cut - bye bye.

I don’t know exactly what the trade off will be on the defensive end but I feel like you could overcome a lot of it with skill. I’ve seen Stretch’s play solid D so I know it can be done. I honestly want to try it myself but my current build is 94 and I kinda shudder at the thought of doing it over again.
Yea defense doesn't bother me. My 6'10 pure point forward can defend certain centers down there and he's minimum weight. Just can't grab the board after lol.

I just think it'll be a fun build to just grab offensive boards and dunk on someone's head over and over again.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

I'm currently running with my Rebounding Stretch 5, but walk on games all have the same pattern to me. PG brings the ball up and 2-4 try to set an on ball screen for him. Being a stretch big and not wanting to contribute to the log jam I space out to the corner and wait for a pass that never comes.

After a few possessions of this only one player will set an on ball pick which opens up more room on the floor. Seeing that there isn't chaos at the top of the key I set off ball screens for one of the wings only for them to have no idea what to do with the pick. At this point I get frustrated and will float between the low post and the corner waiting for a pass. When the pass finally comes and I knock down the open shot all of a sudden my teammates realize I can shoot and will chuck me grenades the rest of the game. Rinse and repeat in 9/10 walk on games I play.

If I was to make a pure athletic 7'3 what would you suggest: default weight or max?

I kinda messed up this year because I'm always a big and I just never made one so now I'm way behind lol

        Park or competitive pro am?

Cuz pure af for park you're better off with a 7'1.
You get the 1-3 contact dunks.

As stated previously, I'm a pure athletic 7' and have been having a blast. I did default weight(261) and i ALWAYS give better than i get. I've been demolishing centers recently now that i got gold posterizer. There's no comparison to me on any of my builds in terms of fun factor.

Having said that, i should have gone 6'11 and maybe even made him a 2-way a la deandre Jordan. But i like my guy.

My Slashing Rim Protector is DJ-esque, but I wanted the defense as primary because I love swatting everything. Most blocks I had in pro-am was 12.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

Maybe it's cuz instead of making one guy, I got like 5 70s. Maybe it's cuz 2k has one of those secret match making things where if you don't buy vc, they put you with bad players, or maybe it's cuz I usually play at odd hours... But I admit I'm not as good as I was a few years ago (don't take it srs or grind), but I'm at least better than 70% of people, even tho that's not saying much. Still, there's nothing you can do when your team is as awful as my teams consistently are.

I was playing with my friend and he and some other teammates were getting into it cuz they were calling timeouts and not in bounding him the ball, so he was just like screw it, I'm gonna play like a jerk too. I was so mad cuz we could have won. He's like I don't even wanna win games with people like that. My reply was dude I just lost b2b by 30+, I will take any win.

I know you guys know how terrible some people are at 2k. I don't think you can lose by 30 in pro am unless your team is terrible and making fundamental mistakes like turnovers, jacking impossible shots, poor floor balance/transition d, or very poor rebounding. I'd be surprised if I took some of the people from my friends list and played against the best 2k league team that we'd lose by 30.

If you spent the time to get to 90+ and are still able to lose by 30, you have a skewed understanding of the game. After prol hundreds of hours of play.

May be wrong, but that's how I see it.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

Overall isn't everything at all. I've got 5 90s and 2of them are 91. My C is already an 89. The biggest thing is badges. Your 70s can't have max badges yet, it's just not possible unless you just decided you weren't going to upgrade him.

In my experience, there are some good teams in walk on. My teams we put together are usually pretty solid. Sometimes we're getting blown out, sometimes we blow out the other team. Sometimes wewin close, sometimes we lose close. The key is to have fun. If we're down30 and we start getting quiet and frustrated, i got a buddy who will say something stupid and make us all laugh and we can proceed to do dumb **** for the rest of the game.

I remember a team blew us up 20-3 in the first quarter. By half it was 30. This dude started pulling half courts in his PF trying to see how bad we could lose by. LMFAO

                      ****s a video game.

I was constantly going through all my guards trying to find my favorite. Took me 7 characters to start having fun win or lose. I even get shat on a lot on my C in the paint, but on the other end i can kill him.

Game is supposed to be fun.

I like my PF primary post scoring and secondary sharp. The three point shooting isn’t the best but it’s good enough as long as there’s another three point shooter.

Is it possible to pull off this move in 2k?

The thing I don't know how to pull off is his half spin while he's facing the bench. What would one do to pull this off? Drive+Post+fake spin to middle+spin towards baseline?

or would it just be drive baseline and half spin

That's drive baseline then half spin.

I wish more players would think like this. I hopped on my brothers account and played with his Pure Playmaker PG. His player is only a 86 overall and the team wouldn't allow me to bring the ball up the court until the end of the first half. Still managed to get the W but I could've had at least 20+ dimes easy had I touched the rock in the first quarter. There's a lot of MyCareer grinders this year that have high overalls but are trash in PRO-AM and park. People should know better by now SMH.

The PG Shotmaker build is incredibly good. It was the first player I created and the one I've used the most throughout the game. Mid Range is automatic and the ability to finish at the rim is very good as well. Once you get hot you can shoot 3's also. Best Guard build in the game IMO.
