Question: if I don't improve my player, will it still be faster to rep up after multiple cap breakers? So if I stay at 60-61, will it continue to rep up quickly even if get multiple cap breakers. If so, i would wait until I get enough upgrades to get over 92 OVR so I wouldn't mind the grind after that
It's not faster however what I prefer to do is upgrade what I deem necessary while grinding. I also don't touch things I don't plan to use or don't value.

If a stat can reach 71-74, I'll stop at 70 until I can reach 75 otherwise I'll just stay at 70. If I need an upgrade to unlock speed boosting (86 ball control) or contact dunks (82 driving dunk): that's more specific and necessary otherwise I don't care for the +1 upgrades between ×1 and x4 once I'm near the cap in that ability. I don't touch post scoring because i dont use it and I only put 70 at most on mid range because I'm competent enough at that rating and don't take too many as it is.

One of my builds is an 85 but has enough upgrades available to be 90 or 91. It would cost another 50k to reach that overall and I just don't care for the rewards or for the upgrades.

Thats what i normally do. Where I only focus on key ratings when starting. But with my Center, i was so focused on getting the OVR up so fast, that it will take me 17-20 games to get 90 OVR. I'm not beat for that after being set on getting it already. I mainly play career only. So most of the rewards don't mean nothing to me. I just wanted to influence roster movement & rotations and defensive anchor & alpha dog. To make team better.

With my SF, I won't touch ratings i don't plan on using. I won't touch post, at 6'8 I can pull down decent amount of rebounds so no need to improve Rebound. My Dunk is very low anyway so no point, I wont touch Block. With my Center I was so set on getting the most out of him. I improved all the ratings, bought gatorade stamina packs, skill boosts for 10 games at a time. I could have had so much VC saved.

Some notes on a few of my builds:

6'11 240lb PF - post scoring rim protector. Aimed as an Anthony Davis clone. Full wing span. My first build. In hindsight I probably wouldn't have chosen post scoring as it's basically pointless as a secondary, and TBH I think my understanding of Davis as a player was a bit misinformed when I started this build. Perhaps shot creating rim protector is better, as you still get all the post badges (I think) and mid range dead eye. Anyway, regardless of the post scoring choice I have this build at 90 OVR currently and most badges maxed, and it is a fun build in both NBA and Pro-Am games, especially once I realized I'm better off spacing on offense and not crowding the paint too much - high screens, hang around the elbows and short corners, and crash the boards or drive with usually superior agility against my oversized opponents (online). Occasionally I'll back down and use the up and under if I feel my defender will bite on fakes. I felt this build was highly competitive from about 85 OVR onwards.

6'8" 250lb SF - slashing point forward. I was thinking Ben Simmons and a bit of Lebron with this build. Currently at 87 OVR. Also a fun build but for some reason not as engaging to me as the PF above. NBA games are fun but I think the problem online in Pro-Am is I rarely get to run the point - even if I spawn as the primary ball carrier on inbounds plays i.e. indicating to everyone my point ratings are superior to the PG and SG, usually the teammate PG ignores and tries to take over (and usually just wants the ball to score). It's actually best in Pro-Am when I get positioned as the PF - I play as per the PF build above, but it's even more effective against PFs due to the great ball handling.

6'0" 165lb PG - playmaking shot creator. Allen Iverson. Currently 81 OVR. This is my first time going for an undersized elite ball handler. I'm not a huge fan. It's fun but I don't think it fits my style - the size is just too small and I find he's too inconsistent anywhere near defenders. Even open shots don't seem as reliable as they should be based on the ratings. The ratings really are insane with this build though (even get 77 driving dunk and 75 contact dunk - that's better than the post ratings for my first above build, and this isn't even a driving build!), but it's just on paper - driving feels nothing like mid 70's (granted the badges aren't maxed or even close to it yet). Anyway this is my Need for Speed build - it feels a bit arcadey and some good fun for a bit here and there.

6'10" 220lb SF - shot creating slasher. My take on Giannis. Full wing span and shoulders. Really like this one. Yeah, pretty slow and lumbering, but the badges are great and he's elite heading to and around the rim on offense. Consistent enough from mid range. Length makes up for a lot on D. What I like about this build is, because I know he's slow, I don't worry about speed boosting other than in transition. A problem with the PG build above is it's too tempting to try and boost everywhere but it never works how you expect. With this build, I find I can attack the hips of defender and gaps anywhere near the paint, but do it more deliberately and methodically vs relying on speed, and I'll probably get some points out of it. Euro stepping in traffic is almost unfair for defenders. Play too far off and I can knock down enough shots to think twice about it. Currently just 79 OVR but I feel like he's already too dominant in NBA games and pretty competitive in Pro-Am. I'm curious to see this one at 90 OVR.

My buddy has a 6'10 PF athletic first and shot Creator secondary. He wishes he would have got the HOF posterizer but it's a fun build. Can hit 3s pretty consistent.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

I'm hoping to see an improvement in triggering athletic snags more consistently with my 6'4 Rebounding Playmaker now that I have Hustle Rebounder unlocked. It can reach Silver but I'll need 240 more rebounds which I'll make a lot of progress on once I'm a starter.

Currently my 6ft6 Sharp Slasher SG is a much more reliable snagger. The Rebounder is currently at 75 on Rebounding and Vertical but I need that vertical to reach 80 to see a difference.

So far, I have to say the extra height and reach on my 6ft6 plus his 80 vertical and 70+ Rebounding makes him the better Rebounder. A 6ft6 Rebounding Playmaker would be solid but you'd have to be willing to sacrifice your speed boosting which I'd say is reasonably worth it albeit you gotta be able to break down the defense with some type of skill still.

I'm trusting it will all come together with this build as I reach 80 on Vertical or Silver on Hustle Rebounder - whichever comes first.

I saw a guy rolling with with a undersized post scoring sharpshooter Point Guard on the playground today and I just want to give that guy some props for going with such an alternate build.

Hanz, there's no way that man will ever be reliable rebounding online. No matter your rating or badges, he's too short. I was thinking about that build around 6'10. 6'4 is way too short.

Almost broke down and created another character today. Got a check from Bryan for 15k I forgot about. Checked my other characters and ended up around 33k. Was GOING to make a 6'7 playmaking shot Creator but then I remembered ALL the cut scenes and that was my single deterrent. Man... If only we could skip them this year. I'd have 4 more characters probably. LMAO

Also, my point forward does everything except contact dunk. Lol if I could throw contacts on him and keep my HOF dimer he'd be the goat. Makes me want to run my slashers but they can't shoot! Grrr... I want a good passer with contacts that can shoot okay. Is that too much to ask?

Haha, I wanted to make a Slashing Playmaker SF but those cut scenes discourage me. I'm done for the year lol.

I have the same build rated 82. He's 6'9 235 I believe. He is fun and consistent from midrange, but as you mentioned, not nearly the Giannis type due to the slow speed. I normally play with the 6'7 shot-creating playmaker and the speed difference can be frustrating at times.

I get 5 rebound type games but I can't seem to compete with 6ft10 plus builds like my 6ft6 Sharp Slasher can.

I have about 50 rebounds towards the 240 I need for Silver Hustle Rebounder. I'm holding out hope for improvement via that badge and the upgrades to Vertical that will reach 80.

I do get boards I'd have no business getting if I didn't add Rebounding. The build has its rewards but if you're selling for boards: go 6ft6 at least as a guard for a more rewarding experience early on.

My next scheme is to fix a 6ft8 Rebounding Slasher at SF or 6ft6 at PG/SG. I just love being a Rebounding Wing [emoji16]

*Peep the stats on the Rebounding and Athleticism of this build as a perimeter player [emoji57]

I would probably pump my extra VC into making more players, but the cut scenes and the badge grinding sucks. I wish that if I unlocked a badge for one player that it could be unlocked for anybody new I make.

At this stage, players won't feel the way you want them to unless you get the badges. And I am dooooooooooone grinding.

I'm really not bothered by the cut scenes lol.

You can quit out of the Prelude games as well as the nba WalkOn games in the training facility. After that I don't need to pay attention to the cut scenes at his loft or in the locker rooms. I just turn my attention away and engage in YouTube or TV for 30s - 90s and the scene is usually over by then or coming to a close.

CUT SCENES DON'T BOTHER YOU?! I've got SEVEN characters with 127 hours on EACH watching CUT SCENES.

Sometimes I get repeated cut scenes I know I've gotten on that character before that glitched progress FROM ANOTHER CHARACTER.

I've literally had 25 cut scenes this week JUST in the barber shop because switching characters means it resets my conversations with doc.
