Am I the only one who thinks 2K did a great job when it comes to Myplayer overalls and their gameplay reflecting such? To have a higher overall means you must play more, hopefully making that person more skilled. Along with that, a level 70 likely can’t outperform a level 85. Of course it’s basketball and IQ comes into play, but the difference is definitely shown and I appreciate that.

If everyone would think back to when they first created their MyPlayer and they were still not what they are today, animations mastered, badges upgraded - that is what I’m talking about, the overalls along with the evolution of characters and the skill gap being noticeable. It’s great

I've been a 70 and out performed 90s quite often this year. Overall has never meaned so little. Last year of you saw a 99 you knew that dude was good at Park or walk on because he had to play those modes to level up.

Seen a 92 overall pure slasher last night on park that had over 5000 games played and over 3000 losses. Dude had 4 points on 9 shots. Complete garbage.

Cut scenes before the tunnel, cut scenes in the tunnel, cut scenes when I step on the court and play someone like kyrie, cut scenes after the game, cut scenes after the cut scene after the game. Load into a neighborhood, cut scene going to practice, cut scene going into the elevator, cut scene in my my court, cut scene leaving my my court, cut scene getting my endorsement check, cut scene getting one more practice boost, cut scene boosting for park and pro am, cut scene getting my hair cut, cut scene going to buy shoes, cut scene buying NBA gear.






CUT SCENES DON'T BOTHER YOU?! I've got SEVEN characters with 127 hours on EACH watching CUT SCENES.


Sometimes I get repeated cut scenes I know I've gotten on that character before that glitched progress FROM ANOTHER CHARACTER.

I've literally had 25 cut scenes this week JUST in the barber shop because switching characters means it resets my conversations with doc.

AT LEAST LEMME SKIP THEMMMMM OH MY FUUUUUUUUUDGE.

A lot of these repetitive cut scenes are about 15s long. It's not time consuming or bothersome for me. They could literally make it a black screen with a loading timer.

Ever wait ten minutes to get all 5 in, load into walk on, wait ten minutes for it to not even match you with anyone? Load out, load in, then wait in walk on again for 2 humans?

Happened twice last night.

In 2k17:

A)

It would take me 4 minutes to load into my court. It would take 2 minutes to reach the training facility and another 4 minutes to return to court: that's 6 minutes for 1 practice spent on a loading screen and 10 minutes for the whole process of returning.

B)

It would take 4 minutes to start a My Career game and then another 4 to return to my court before I could start a new one. If I decide to perform a practice: that's now 4 to return to court, 2 to hit the practice, another 4 to return to court and another 4 to get into next game - that's 20! minutes of loading for two separate events.

C)

It would take me 4-6 minutes to join a Park. It would sometimes take up to 3 or more minutes to load inventory in the store / animations library. Sometimes it would even hang beyond 5 minutes on this screen because it was frozen.

In 2k18:

A)

I can get my character loaded into the Neighbourhood from main menu within 2 minutes.

B)

I can load into the training facility within 30s and while there I can fire up a game and tipoff will be ready in 2 minutes. I even have a change room where I can fix my gear in a timely manner. Soon as the game is finished: I can fire up up a new one promptly and it'll be ready within 2 minutes. If I want to practice, I'll be in there within 1 minute. 30 seconds to return to Neighbourhood and 30s to enter training facility.

C)

Whether joining off a friend or from the subway: I can reach the Park courts within 2 minutes even by jogging I can reach the bend in 2 minutes. If I want to change animations this is where it can take awhile in the My Player lab. It can take what feels like 2 minutes to exit the My Player lab while your changes save.

These numbers are nowhere close to 2k17.

Waiting on the got next to begin a game is also a lot quicker process than 2k17. Games begin much quicker in 18.

I'll take these advantageous wait times in 18 with some mini cut scenes sprinkled in over the 2k17 absurd load times.

I needed to grind 240 rebounds on my Rebounding Playmaker and I achieved that goal in two nights at 6ft4! That's a feat I could not accomplish in 17. I did this without breaking the game. Some park games here and there. Some drills here and there and still only about 60 rebounds on the season so all the rest of the progress for Hustle on Bronze and Silver was gained through Park and Drills. You combine 240 and 120 and that's 360 boards (worth of progress) I racked up on this build since Friday (the 6th) when I first created him and again this is without breaking the game - no practice glitches and only about 12 my career games played and I don't get on 2k until about Midnight on weekdays.

I have game volume off and I turn my attention away from the cut scenes. Gripe about it but for someone like me who is actually studying and comparing these load times: 18 is far superior. They could substitute a cut scene for a black loading screen with a timer and it would now be a loading screen but still only be about 30s short and 1 minute long on average.

This is very easy stuff for me to be patient about. I'm able to accomplish the heavy and important work in a timely manner. Enduring a cut scene at the VC office is fine with me. It's just a business arrangement they are simulating lol and it's for my benefit so I'll wait.

They are not Skippable which is a bit obnoxious but they don't overpower my mind like they do some other minds. I think this is why everything seems so seamless to me: because I tolerate it it. It's really not a painful experience when I measure it against 2k17. I know after this visit at the office I'll pretty much be done there for the day. Once I travel to the park, I'm pretty much there for the day or night. If I need to travel away and back I can still get there in very little time.

You can tell I'm in favor of thus Neighbourhood and it's workings. Like anything else that's new: there is certainly room for improvement in efficiency of things. I'll definitely tolerate this over 2k17 and do not wish to see 2k17 loading make a return.

On topic, I have Hustle Rebounder MAXED on Silver for my 6ft4 Rebound Playmaker - yayy [emoji16]

I starter this build on Friday April 6.

The 2on2 Hustle Rebounder drill is very helpful. There are some YouTube guides on how to maximize the potential for gains in this drill.

75 Rebound, 75 Vertical and Silver Hustle

Only downside.. I'm 6'4" [emoji16]

I'm going to boost Rebounding tonight for the first time on this character. I'll let yall know what type of improvements I see with these two changes: Hustle on Silver and Rebounding boost.

I'm expecting that the Rebounding boost will also improve my vertical. At any rate, I want to be able to jump so high I can snag a bill off the top off the backboard [emoji57]

They really need to bless us with the ability to go to a locker room and load all the same things from there that we can with friends for other modes (team up, all-star team up, quick match, etc.)

Live gives you the ability to pick any player you want IN the menu before loading up in a lobby somewhere else. It's much faster. The neighborhood stuff can still exist as a social hub but this would be a nice quick way to get games in as well.
