Meh, IMO you are over thinking it. Draymonds wide open corner 3 with Steph's dimer is a high % shot. Waiting to see what the defense does could result in no open look and him having to reset. Even watching that video, its unclear if Grant would be able to get to Klay and get a yellow or red contest. IMO a good defender would switch to Grant and jump at Klay to get a red contest in that situation.

Re: NBA 2K19 Play Now Online Thread
Update, here is my weekly record:
I've player 39 games in 4 days (yes lol thats a little much) and have found a few patterns as to scripting. It's mainly my CPU movement on offense that changes. I am not an ISO player so I need my CPU players to behave correctly. Also Offensive rebounds are a huge indicator as well.
I am pretty sure this is going to be in 2k20 and am not looking forward to it.

Re: NBA 2K19 Play Now Online Thread
This is my first year ever playing 2k, so it might be normal for you if youve played for 10 years. I've noticed patterns that let the losing team back in the game. 2k wants everyone to play their game, and if they could prevent a blowout from happening in order to get users to lengthen their play I think they will do whatever it takes.Comment

Yeah man... I've been playing for a long time. Longer than 10 years. And every person comes in here with the same conspiracy theory. Sounds like flat Earth at this point. Is there a "rhythm"? Yes, but it's a video game. Get over it. If you feel like your getting cheated. You should either go play real basketball. Or go play the other game (I'm sure they have the same feeling). Every game has something. For crying out loud, Mario Kart 64 has something. It's a video game! Go outside and enjoy life lol

Lastly, didn't we all share before that NBA 2K seems to be the only game that causes rage inducing moments within all of us, lol? Everytime I have broken or thrown a controller, it was always a NBA 2K game.
Since NBA 2K4...
5 broken controllers.
3 holes in the wall.
4-8 noise complaints from my apartment neighbors.
I think I broke a TV before, but I don't remember, lol.Comment

Where's the welcoming feeling, lol? He's just sharing his experience why he feels like the game is 100% scripted. He wasn't around during the times when Mike Wang vehemently stated that the game wasn't scripted. Personally, I took him at his word, but every now and then, I think everyone has those games where you feel like the game is tilted in favor of your opponent. Honestly, I think offensive rebounds seems to be the distinguishing indicator for who is going to win. I can't tell how many games/quarters that I have had where my opponent snatched down more offensive rebounds than I have total rebounds, and I tend to blow my top when my opponent's PG is able to grab the rebound immediately after missing the layup attempt. I'm so glad game controllers are expensive.

But you also play as All Time teams which is absolutely not normal basketball and cannot be compared to regular game play.
I just lost to the All Time Hawks by a few points with a regular team. Usually I would dash as I don't want to deal with that nonsense. I even skimmed over his line-up and saw Wilkins/Willis so I thought it was a classic team lol.
Now that was a rage inducing game....7 3s by Al Horford and some contested...give me a break....he could not shoot those early in his career with Hawks. Offensive rebounds galore.
Worst part is I prob would've won if not for the lag.Comment

You are right. Everyone here knows about the 2K keep the score close switch.

Something interesting just happened. I played a guy 3x. The 1st game I was the All-time Celtics and he had the regular Warriors. I beat him pretty bad in the first quarter it was 23-11 and he quit. Then I went back to the lobby and found him again with the regular bucks. In this game, it seemed like he was being favored by 2k. Robin Lopez was dunking on Bill Russell, he was hitting smothereds in the paint all day with Eric Bledsoe and company. We played a full game where he led most of the game, and I only won by 8 points. So then I go back in the lobby and find him using the all-time Lakers. Now you would think that me using the All time Celtics against the regular Bucks, with him leading most of the way that he should probably beat me with the all-time lakers or the game should come down to the wire. I ended up beating him 35-16, where he quit in the 2nd quarter.
To me, this demonstrates a potential equalizer that keeps opponets in the game to keep them engaged and making them want to keep playing. It's happened to me many times where the Warriors bench comes in the game and Looney starts posterizing Bill Russel. Yet when I play people with the All time Lakers I can shut down Shaq and Kareem? The only explanation i can think of is that there is something that triggers either when a team is completely outmatched by the other or if an opponent just quit against a guy the game with favor the guy that lost in a rematch.
I understand why 2k would do this. It is no fun to get blown out all the time. But why dont they just make a "competitive" game mode where this doesnt happen and a "fun" game mode where it does? They just need to be honest about it. It's not easy to spot unless you play A LOT of games in a short period of time, but it becomes glaringly obvious what they are doing.Last edited by boomproductions; 07-27-2019, 02:42 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K19 Play Now Online Thread
Also I had another thought I havent seen discussed on here. The 2k20 all time Lakers are going to have Lebron as well, probably 97 ovr+. That is adding another insanely glitchy player to already the best team in the game. How is 2k going to handle this? I dont think its going to be fair to use them at all unless 2k puts an algorithm in that will only match the all time Lakers with the all time Lakers.
And then 2k21 they will have AD too, probably at 96-97 ovr. That's gonna be crazyComment

Because one... Basketball is a game of runs. And second like I said. It's a video game.
Your not the first person. A lot people thought they would of taken it out of the 2K League. But there is a whole thread of me saying they wouldn't have taken it out. And they didn't lol. I got alot **** lol.
I think the Da_Czar said it once in a podcast. They want the users to think. "They won't keep trying to put the round peg into the square hole".
Edit: The most important thing is that you won all the games. Because you probably played smarter.

I also like that certain players have that "clutch factor." I have no beef with Kobe, Bird or Jordan hitting a last second shot or being unstoppable the last minute of the game because 2k is honest about them having extra abilities.
What im talking about is 76 ovr players get that timely AND 1 or when you play solid defense against them with a 96 ovr player or just straight up dunk in their face and then on the other side of the court that 96 ovr player misses a lightly contested lay up twice in a row. Or when that 76 ovr player horsed the 96 ovr on a rebound. I understand that all of these things are "possible" but the frequency they happen at is not realistic.
If people have talked about it before and Mike Wang came out and denied there is any sort of equalizer, then we should keep bringing this topic up until 2k admits what they are doing or solves the problem. Maybe not in this thread, but somewhere we should be speaking up about it.Comment

Re: NBA 2K19 Play Now Online Thread
Honestly, the more and more I play NBA Live, the more I start to realize that 2K isn't an organic game when it comes to things just happening randomly.
In NBA 2k, I can almost call it when a rebounds going to be grabbed unexpectedly, or my opponents about to hit a contested shot. It seemed like everything in the game is predetermined within milliseconds of the action. For example, the game has already decided who's going to get the rebound while the shots in the air. I can't tell you how many times I have seen somebody already jumping for a rebound and getting it, and the ball haven't touched the rim yet. Long story short, NBA 2K has too many shenanigans that be happening against the common sense of basketball outcomes.Comment
