I saw the new feature where you can hold the defender behind you and every time I beat my defender I can feel it's waiting for me to do that, the animation is waiting for that.

I don't know how to do it and don't care. IRL who actually does that movement? CP3 and....maybe handful of others. So they made this "cool" new feature for like 5% of NBA players that actually do it and the play keeps waiting for me to do it....

Beat the dubs with Wiz. I'm in tier 2 why I am even matched up against them? The amount of AI help that dude got was unbelievable...couldn't believe I won and, the amount of anger.....

So 19secs to go up by 4 but wait....Curry 3, missing FT by me, Draymond 2 tie game OT. BS!




I went up by 4 in OT and the dude just stopped playing with 2mins left. I think he mentally ran out of capacity and was trying so hard and couldn't believe I was winning lol....I kept shooting open 3s on him to hammer the win home.

Draymond was his highest scorer. Livingston 3s....DC offensive rebounds...yeh right.

I swear I was in JV tier 2 and now it bumped me up to Varsity tier 3. Maybe that's what you get for beating dubs

I use to enjoy this game online but after 2K17 and 18 I'm even more convince with 19 that I'm no longer interested in playing online completely.

I do it all the time in game when people try to pressure the inbound with someone other than the point guard. I'll run in front of you with my point guard and press L2 to hold you on my back while the inbound passer runs up the court wide open. Easy pass to that guy for an open layup or to pass to someone who is left open because another defender has to rotate

Also, a lot more people than point guards do it irl. Demar Derozan did it a lot and would get floaters off in the lane, Kyle Lowry does it, Dragic does it. Happens a lot

The best offballer can defeat the best onball defender since forever but this year it prolly reached new heights. Once ur opponent gets the mash technique down it’s unnecessarily disruptive as it’s harder to get pass defenders period as it is and it gives ur opponent easy transition points.

A solution would be to run plays but even then I still gotta worry about the simplest passes getting clipped. Ima need more penalties for offballers in some form 2k drain their energy or take them way out the play or something lol

Try icon passing and freestyles. Instead of calling plays maybe use the auto/smart play calling. Also, you can call manual cuts of players out of certain branches of a freestyle which gives you a free bucket at the rim. To me, the offball defender is BBQ chicken. The AI defender is not that hard once you know how to get pass them. If I can get by the the defender with slow Oscar Robertson, I know people should be able to get by with the current NBA players.

I don't want to be that guy, but this game is incredibly deep. You really have to dig down and practice how to use your teams. This is definitely no longer a game where you just pick it up and just blow over everybody with just basic stick skills and basketball IQ. I stopped playing online for 2-3 days to practice like crazy in the freestyle and scrimmage. It's paying off and I'm noticing a vast improvement in my game.

I had one of my best games to date last night against the Classic Lakers (Tier 3) that went into double OT. Great game! I lost by 6 points, because I made some ill-advised passes down the stretch.

Man, you might want to start utilizing the dashboarding. You're going get to burned out on this game if you keep playing the Warriors like you do.

Last night I had a chance to go up 6 in OT and had Aaron Gordon wide open down court by himself at the 3 point line. I was my 3 point line.

I pass to him and Enes Kanter who is completely turned around at half court proceeds to stick his arm out and tip the ball without even looking for a turnover.

Changed the whole complexion of OT. Ugh.

Lol. Yeah, been there done that. I know that the game can be overpowering sometime with steals when it comes to the passing lanes, but I can't help myself when I feel like I can thread the needle on that one pass, lol. That was how I lost my overtime game that I previously mentioned. I threw that one greedy pass I shouldn't have thrown.

I don't care how some of you sugar coat it, this game is bad, there's some weird delay on shot contests even if you know the shot is coming and hit the stick before they shoot your guy acts like a zombie and puts his hand up as slow as possible because it's been predetermined that that shot is going in. The 3s people can hit with anyone that has a limitless badge are just stupid, the missed shots under the rim even though the other guy is just mashing triangle and jumping with no regards, the insta-steals when you strip someone and they strip it right back. The flaws of this game get more and more ugly the higher you climb in tiers, the steal spamming is just out of control.

And why does 90% of the community play off ball defense the entire game? Nobody is jumping online to play the CPU with some user along for the ride. The CPU will mask all of his terrible habits and 2k has all but eliminated the back door cut this year, great job. Ontop of all this, I just want to use the Knicks, I made it to GOAT tier with them last year, I can deal with playing the Warriors/Celtics/Lakers.

This is exactly why i put my copy on ebay. Hopefully it sells quick and unless some miracle patch comes in the next couple months i won't be picking up another.

Of course...the game where I'm up drops due to the update message, then I lose the game I needed to rank up. Now, I have to play the entire level again. Sigh.

Solution.......

Keep this mode exactly the same. Just unlock the restriction when you select your team. That’s the only realistic way I can see this being fixed for this season. They obviously can’t scrape it and start fresh this year or do it via patch.

Just unlock the team selection screen when you pick your tier game.

For example.

I pick my my tier 1 or tier 2 or tier 3 games, I have full selection of all the teams but just get matched up with only that tier I selected.

Everyone wins, I get to use my team all the time and still play other tiers or at least get a break from the warriors when I’m in my tier 2 or tier 3 matchups.

After lots of thought this is the only realistic fix for this season.

Thoughts ??

Side note. Yes I know his will dilute the player pool for tier 3 and more so tier 3 but they’re already diluted as we speak and atleast your have the tier 2 and tier 3 classic teams to spice up those tiers a bit.

I think this will make everyone somewhat happy and bring back more players to this mode.

They could have still done a tier system and had proper teams matchup for better matchmaking. I dont like this team restriction.
