It's probably a combination of both. I'm getting used to the new gameplay mechanics, so I'm expecting to take off on a winning streak at some point.



As a side note....you dang NYK users are the people who's preventing me from getting my Tier 3 wins, lol. Tier 2, no problem, because I get to use my Pacers. Tier 1, hit and miss, but I'm getting more and more comfortable using the Thunder. Tier 3...those Knicks are a tall order.

[emoji23]🤣 Ain’t gonna lie Porzingis does feel like a demigod at times. Actually think tier 3 is the most balanced tier. Dallas, Bulls, Hawks are all fun in that tier

I'm honestly getting ready to sell my Anniversary Edition. I can't take this broke bull**** anymore.

The game has too many issues. No matter what they add to offensive, everything is broke.

The game just gave me a loss because all of a sudden there's a connection problem when everything was fine other than the stupidness of the game itself.

Hang in there, Dawgie. The more and more I play this mode while adding to my videogame basketball through practice and videos, the more I realize how incredibly deep this game is.

I can't man, the game has gotten to point for me where the legacy issues and new issues are just too much to enjoy the game without raging.

Get a steal and in the blink of an eye the ball is stollen right back.

50/50 balls going right back to the offense.

Steal spam in general

Online stability

Bump steals

Offensive rebounding

Ai - offensive and defensive

Technical issues

Nefs and buffs

Ever since i got to Varsity the competition didn't get better the game just started showing it's flaws.

They need a 1 year break like live did to iron the problems out and make some type of tech change.

Too many good games coming and currently out to be raging and not having a good time.

Man, don't scare me, lol. I think I'm going to be in that league this weekend. Surprisedly, the Freshman and JV have mostly been "sim" games for me. If those cheddarheads got to the higher levels in a hurry, I think I might stay where I'm at .

Great minds think alike. The Flip Push is one of the freelances that I use. I like using the Corners and Flow (who doesn't, lol). I'm scrimmaging and watching videos to add a 4th to my personal list. I find these three best fits the Pacers than the default 3-out 2-in which, frankly, I think sucks. I'm going to read this article...

Because I don't recall seeing this before the release.

I was using the shot meter by the hands, but I'm reading now that the meter isn't as "accurate" as the shot meter by the feet. I went into freestyle mode, and there might be some truth in that. One by the feet actually changes in size based on the range of the player where the one by hand doesn't. Also, the arrow might be factor too. Should we be looking at the tip as it approaches the top, or the "base" if we think of the top of the meter as a triangle? With the feet, you're just timing it for when the two lines come together.

Yea I noticed the meter under your feet changes based on range last night. I still forget to look at it half the time cause I don’t want to take my eyes of the action.

The bail out 3s they give my opponents are really killing me. The 3pt game in general is really killing the game somewhat for me. It’s to easy to just stop and pop, pull up mid stride in transition, or kick out to a covered player and pull.

First that why after every rebound I’m still holding on to L2 button to avoid that cheese tactics. 2nd omg what’s with the same colour jersey. 20th edition and still can’t get that right!!!!

I usually go to the jersey selection screen to check the jerseys after my opponent ready up. Don't forget to confirm to your selection instead of backing out by press B or Circle.

8 steals in the first half by the opponent and yet he's still down by 10....knows how to mash that steal button after a TO but doesn't know how to score lol. Also every time I would size him up he would strip it and steal....but if I try it just fouls so I gave up on reaching....

8 steals should mean the player is good at D and the game should be close or he should be winning. Way to easy.

So if this was a normal NBA game his steal rate 8/10mins would give him over 32 steals total for the game. Broken AF. We go from offensive rebounds to this...

The best offballer can defeat the best onball defender since forever but this year it prolly reached new heights. Once ur opponent gets the mash technique down it’s unnecessarily disruptive as it’s harder to get pass defenders period as it is and it gives ur opponent easy transition points.

A solution would be to run plays but even then I still gotta worry about the simplest passes getting clipped. Ima need more penalties for offballers in some form 2k drain their energy or take them way out the play or something lol

I don't care how some of you sugar coat it, this game is bad, there's some weird delay on shot contests even if you know the shot is coming and hit the stick before they shoot your guy acts like a zombie and puts his hand up as slow as possible because it's been predetermined that that shot is going in. The 3s people can hit with anyone that has a limitless badge are just stupid, the missed shots under the rim even though the other guy is just mashing triangle and jumping with no regards, the insta-steals when you strip someone and they strip it right back. The flaws of this game get more and more ugly the higher you climb in tiers, the steal spamming is just out of control.

And why does 90% of the community play off ball defense the entire game? Nobody is jumping online to play the CPU with some user along for the ride. The CPU will mask all of his terrible habits and 2k has all but eliminated the back door cut this year, great job. Ontop of all this, I just want to use the Knicks, I made it to GOAT tier with them last year, I can deal with playing the Warriors/Celtics/Lakers.

The 70-71 Bucks have some OP defense. I think I found my Tier 3 squad. Kareem's hookshot is basically a guaranteed two points. I scored 25 points with mainly using that. Oscar Robertson...dude is just bulldog at the PG spot.

That's what I saying too. This year takes the cake. Because defense has been given a major boost you have to work harder to beat your AI defender only to met with the offball paint camp cheeser who becomes the onball defender and is now better at onball D because of the game. As you said if you try pass it around that's 90% TO guarantee, some AI will just jump and grab the ball.

Running plays is odd too, I find the whole movement rigid AF.

2K18 is starting to look real good.....

They do it because most find defense boring. I actually enjoy the challenge. Off ball if you want but 2K fails to punish them every year for not playing the right way....ok forget the 'right way' even...this just the AI doing all the work for you. See my shoot em up analogy....it's like your AI teammates killing your enemies for you...as you said CPU playing and the human is along for the ride.

2K fails to recognize this and I actually think with all their devs and testing guys they are actually playing on ball so they don't realize this happens on an extreme level once the game is launched.
