Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just lost my 2nd game in my ORL association to HOU 106-105. I was up 103-102 with 8 secs left on defense and i was controlling Dwight to try and stop Yao. Jameer Nelson freakin fouls K.martin near half court! Idiot!! Martin drains the FTs because he's been on fire all night. I call a TO, inbound the ball, find Carter coming off a screen and kick it to him and he drains the 14 footer. Up 105-104 with 2.8 secs left, Sweet! Oh no no no, HOU inbounds and Martin hits the 20 footer over Carter at the buzzer, game over. Yao was unstoppable 34pts 16reb 6 blk, Martin had 26 pts. I'm shipping Rashard out in the offseason.

      Good luck man.
Yeah, I don't have the most stacked starting 5 or anything but I prefer it that way. It would have been too unrealistic to me to suddenly have a bunch of top players in a 1 year turnaround.

I mainly just made sure I had good shooters and rebounders. I still could use a guy that can score in the low post and a defender like Sefolosha/Artest/Battier/etc but for now I'm pretty happy with how this team turned out.

Looks pretty nice to me. Denver got some nice pieces to remain competitive, although getting both the Deng and Igoudala contracts might be a little much since they're so overpaid.

The Sixers made out nice getting rid of that Iggy contract and also got some good wing players and a 1st for the future.

And of course you made out well getting Carmelo. It seems like every time I've played with or against him in this game he's going for 30 no problem. I love his game.

Yeah, Yao is a monster in game. What I did in my Cavs/Rockets game last night was just let Yao get his, but make sure his supporting cast was held in check. Not an easy thing to do though because Brooks and Martin are so dangerous and have great range.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Playing as the Cavs is a wildly different experience this year.

        On the plus side:
Several quality shooters who can knock down open shots.
Athletic guys inside who can move without the ball and get open.
Seven guys averaging in double figures.

        On the negative side:
        Trouble against "star" players.
Not very physical inside defensively (or offensively).
No "go to" player when the game is on the line. I might have seven players scoring in double figures, but none of them averages more than sixteen points per game.

I haven't traded anyone yet. I could use serious upgrades at several positions, but I'm leaning toward standing pat for now. See what happens.

Just curious...you had to have trade override on to have that trade go through right? I use the Bulls and I have tried literally every single way to get Melo on the Bulls with no such luck. My guess is that you had to force that trade?

Can't get him on bulls either. The trade sounds fair though but the bulls can lose him if he doesn't resign.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Wow, the injuries just keep mounting in my Blazers 'chise. After our 9-3 start I was already without: Matthews (out), Batum (hurt), Oden (out), and Aldridge (hurt). Now we lost Brandon Roy for 2-4 weeks with a back injury, and then immediately after inserting Fernandez into the starting line-up we lose him due to an ankle injury for 1-2 weeks.

Luckily I now have Aldridge and Batum back 100% healthy, but we're now 10-7. Losses to both the Nets and Sixers after leading by double digits really hurt, but my team is starting to play a lot better. Sadly, we got Boston next, who is on a roll lately, so we could be looking at 10-8.

Now I'm stuck as to who to play at SF moving forward. When Batum was out, I had Damion James playing a good 30-35 minutes and he was a monster on the glass. He was great at getting to the rim and drawing fouls, and also hit two clutch three's in the 4th (in separate games) to tie the games up.

Either way my Blazers team is looking solid once we can get everyone back and healthy.

What's yours and everyone's take on trade override? do you feel cheap using it even if you pull off a trade that is realistic and fair? Because every time I use it, still have that nagging feeling that i cheated the cpu.

Just signed Tyson Chandler after waiving Ryan Hollins. He's a really good addition.

I also overrided a trade between Denver and the Knicks. I hate the Knicks, but I know Melo most likely isn't staying in Denver. So yeah, Melo is now on the Knicks with Amar'e.

I'm hoping to sign Paul eventually.. or trade for him.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Yeah my only issue with the trade was the large contracts that Denver will be taking but I think they are getting good players that will play well over the course of their contracts though.

I did however, have to use the trade override as there was nothing else that worked. I tried a number of trades and this seemed to be most beneficial for all parties involved and something I could see happen.

I really don't like to use trade override either as I feel cheap doing it, but with the way the real life seasons are going and the rumors that are going around with Carmelo wanting out and AI wanting out, I feel as though it was justified.

On a side note, playing with Rose, Bogans (who I can't stand), Anthony, Boozer, and Noah is just too much fun. The Bulls would be title contenders if in real life if they can somehow get a similar trade done.

Its cheap and I feel like I'm cheating. But I may do the other guys trade. If I lose Melo ill just have to get another SF some how.

I think its cheap, but hey, its your association, play how you want. At least the trade is believable, if I saw it scroll across the bottom line on ESPN, id believe it.

On December 1st, I'm currently sitting at 11-6 in my Suns Association. That's good enough for 1st place in the Pacific Division and tied with San Antonio for 2nd in the Conference. The Mavs are 1st right now in the with a record of 14-3. The Nuggets, Kings, Rockets, Lakers and Thunder round out the Top 8. Portland, Memphis, Utah, New Orleans and Golden State are all within 2 game of the final playoff spot. The Clippers are the worst team in the Conference with a record of 6-12.

In the Eastern Conference Miami is in 1st place with a record of 15-3. They're followed by Boston, Orlando, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland and Indiana.

There have been no trades so far however, there some big names in the Rumor Mill right now. Most notably, Carmelo Anthony, Mo Williams, Mike Bibby and Evan Turner

As for my team, Steve Nash is playing at the same level as he did during his MVP years. JRich is playing his best Bball as a Sun and Grant Hill may have found the fountain of youth. Our stats are as follows:

                          Nash- 23.2 PPG, 9.5 APG, 3.3 RPG
                          Richardson- 18.8 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 1.6 APG
                          G.Hill- 13.2 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 1.0 APG
                          Turkoglu- 11.1 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 2.6 APG
                          Dragic- 7.6 PPG, 3.4 APG, 1.8 RPG
                          Lopez- 7.5 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 1.2 BPG
                          Frye- 7.1 PPG, 4.8 RPG,
                          Childress- 6.5 PPG, 3.8 RPG
                          Dudley- 5.3 PPG, 1.7 RPG
                          Warrick- 3.7 PPG, 3.2 RPG
                          E.Clark- 1.4 PPG
                          Lawal- 1.1 PPG

Currently Jrich and Dudley are both nursing injuries. Jrich is playing through a Broken Nose while Dudley is Out 1-2 Weeks with Back Spasms. The injury to Dudley hurts as he was just finding more playing time while emerging as our top 3 point shooter. Josh Childress hasn't been thrilled with his Role as a Role Player or his minutes for most of the season. I have switched him to 6th man in hopes to satisfy his Morale. Plus, with our current injury situation the way it is, he should see the court much more.

Other injury's of note around the league:
Ty Lawson- DEN- Out for the season with a Torn MCL
Kevin Martin- Hou- Out for the season with a Torn MCL
Jordan Crawford- ATL- 6-8 Weeks- Broken Ankle
B.Davis- LAC- 4-6 Weeks- Torn Meniscus
E.Gordon- LAC- 2-4 Weeks- Torn Hand Ligament
A.Stoudemire- NY- 2-4 Weeks- Torn Meniscus
C.Maggette- MIL- 2-4 Weeks- Stained Hamstring
V.Carter- ORL- 1-2 Weeks- Separated Sholder
A.Bynum- LAL- 1-2 Weeks- Servilely Sprained Ankle

Other happening's Around the league- During November both Lebron James and Josh Smith won Player of the Week twice. Kobe won it twice in the Western Conference. Lebron and Kobe ended up winning Players of the Month with John Wall and Blake Griffin winning Rookies of the Month. Kobe is leading the leauge in scoring right now, averaging 33.1 PPG. Monta Ellis is also averaging more than 30 PPG (30.2). Lebron is averaging 27.8, 7.9 RPG, 7.3 APG, 2.8 SPG and 1.6 BPG.

lower carmelo's potential in your roster and you can find fair trades for him in the association but why not just wait and sign him next year. I would move deng for some solid role players and give carmelo that money. Get a back up center and sean williams is a pretty good choice

Well there are only 30 teams.

I control only one team as I find controlling all of them too time consuming. But I do limit some restraints for the CPU like having CPU trades off until 2 weeks before the deadline. I also switch GM positions sometimes.

Who knows, it might just be best for someone like me to control all 30 teams.
