Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

ok iam back, i was caught up doing to many different games, for some reason started playing madden 10 again, haha ya i know alil behind. but i think im going to just sim my games now, i mean overall the stats all come out the same, its just taking me to long even playing the first half and sim the 2nd half, which ended up being the most fun way of doing it, cause i couldnt play someone to much the first half cause then when i simmed the 2nd half, the computer wouldn play him based on how many set minutes i had for them in the rotation,

So with someone like Brandon Roy who i had at 37 MPG, if i played him to much the first half say like 21 minutes, he would then only get simmed about 14-15 minutes in the 2nd half. So i had to watch out for that.. plus when someone got in foul trouble. 2 fouls in the 1rst qtr or 3 in the first half i would kinda keep him in there alil longer, cause i knew the computer would sit him the 2nd half, But there was just to many times where id play the first half, and be down 10-13 points at half and make it hard to come back, i know i know dont get down by 10, but the computer team always seemed to shoot over 50-53 % in the first half, and id be around 42-44. Anyways ill sim the games.. i may only do updates on standings and player stats and stuff like that after every month

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

just finished game 3 of my 2001-2002 Orlando Magic association

      Magic 99, Knicks 92

The score does not tell the whole game, as no team led by more than 10 at any point and most of the game the teams were within a basket of each other.

I don't know what it is about madison square garden that makes superstars go off, but its magic worked again. Tracy Mcgrady dropped 61 points to go along with 5 rebs and 7 assists . He shot 23-33, including 3-4 from deep.

For the knicks Latrell Sprewell scored 28, but no one else had over 10 and the knicks could not keep up with Tracy Mcgradys assault on the basket as Mcgrady sealed the game late with free throws to put the Magic ahead for good.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I'm just going to post a little bit about my Denver Nuggets association. I'll post more later after I wake up cause I'm tired right now.

For the 2010-2011 season, I stated out like 12-25 or something. Something pretty bad. So I realized I had to make some changes. First, I traded Al Harrington for Andray Blatche. I noticed that Marcus Thorton was tearing **** up in Sacramento, and he wasn't valued all that much. I sent Raymond Felton to the Kings for Thornton, seeing as how the Kings needed a PG, not a SG to go along with Tyreke. I focus on developing Thornton, hoping he can become the #1 scoring option, a void left by Carmelo Anthony.

Shortly after the trade (sometime in January) the team starts a massive turnaround from a lottery pick to a playoff spot. We end the season 46-36, with Marcus Thornton averaging 24.8 ppg, with 52% FG and a league-leading 51% 3pt. All that as a 79-rated player. His season high was 55 points, in a game I simmed. However, he got snubbed out of any all-NBA honors/awards, including Most Improved, which should be his because of a 10.3 point increase in scoring!

So in the playoffs, we decide to send a message to the NBA. Sorry, I can't give too many specific details about each series/game. I played/simmed them a month ago and I'm just returning to play my second season. After falling to a 0-2 deficit to the 2nd seeded Portland Trailblazers, we win the next 4 games. In the second round, we face the New Orleans Hornets and win 4-1. In the Western Conference Finals, we beat the Dallas Mavericks 4-2. Sorry Dirk! We then beat the team that we traded Carmelo to, the New York Knicks. Oh my... It goes to a game 7, which we win, with Marcus Thornton becoming the NBA Finals MVP!

Over the offseason, I drafted Chris Singleton with the 14th pick (forgot where I got it from) and Tristan Thompson with the 30th pick (apparently, if you win the championship, you have the last pick in this game, regardless of your regular season record). For free agency, I don't manage to keep Wilson Chandler, but with my massive salary cap space, I sign Zach Randolph and Shannon Brown to 3-year contracts each.

I like just having 8-man rotations. IDK why, but I do, and I love players that can play multiple positions.
        PG: Ty Lawson/Shannon Brown
        SG: Marcus Thornton/Shannon Brown
        SF: Danilo Gallinari/Chris Singleton
        PF: Zach Randolph/Andray Blatche/Chris Singleton
        C: Nene/Andray Blatche

We started the 2011-2012 season 8-1, and with this young core lineup, we can only keep improving!

You should probably start Boris Quinn. And do you play Derrick Williams at the 3 ever?

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Finished the 2011-12 season with the RAPTORS and finished 39-43 but that was actually good enough for 8th place in the Eastern Conference. I faced off against the Miami Heat in the first round and took them to 6 games but ended up losing.

DeMar DeRozan led the team with 20 PPG. Chauncey Billups played real well with 18 PPG and 6APG. Bargnani had his usual 18PPG and Jonas Valanciunas had a strong rookie season with 13 PPG, 10 RPG and 2 BPG. That got Jonas on the All-Rookie 1st Team.

In the off-season, I re-signed DeShawn Stevenson, Alonzo Gee, Kwame Brown and Andy Rautins. Even though Billups played well, I decided to let him and Boris Diaw go to free agency.

At the draft, I traded Ed Davis and the #15 pick to the 76'ers for Louis Williams and the #10 pick. Williams was unhappy with his minutes in Philly and they could use a young big man. I used the #10 pick to take Perry Jones. In Free Agency, I added Nicolas Batum, Rudy Fernandez and Louis Amundson.

              2012-13 RAPTORS

              PG: Louis Williams, Jose Calderon
SG: DeMar DeRozan, Rudy Fernandez, DeShawn Stevenson, Andy Rautins
SF: Nicolas Batum, James Johnson, Alonzo Gee, DeShaun Thomas
PF: Andrea Bargnani, Perry Jones, Lou Amundson
              C: Jonas Valanciunas, Kwame Brown

I'm already into the season and things are going very well. DeRozan's perimeter shooting has improved, Williams' quickness allows me to push the ball more than with Billups and Batum is just a great all-around player.

Yes, Quinn will start ... Biedrins sucks. I tought to use Derrick at SF but Terrence Williams is a beast. Kevin Martin is out for 5 weeks (injury) so my starting five will be :

                PG : Kyle Lowry
                SG : Terrence Williams
                SF : Derrick Williams

In the 3rd season of my Bucks Association I just made the move for Dwight Howard. The team looks nothing like the original.

                  PG - *Jess Moody (86)/JR Smith (74)/*Craig Nixon (73)
                  SG - JR Smith (74)/*Craig Nixon (73)/Ronnie Brewer (72)
                  SF - Gerald Wallace (86)/Ronnie Brewer (72)
                  PF - *Samuel Meyer (73)/Brandon Bass (72)
                  C - Dwight Howard (89)/Samuel Meyer (73)/Drew Cook (60)
                  *CPU generated

What do you think of the roster and what changes would you make?

Just finished the 2018 season.....the Sixers went 68-14 and won their 6th straight NBA title defeating the LA Clippers in 6 games. Tyreke Evans won his 5th straight regular season MVP and his 6th straight finals MVP and also Doug Collins won coach of the year once again.

Unfortunately, we lost Tyreke to the Atlanta Hawks in FA as we were unable to resign him. Some other big moves in FA were made by the Indiana Pacers who snagged Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard......Blake Griffin signed a max contract with the Charlotte Bobcats and they also resigned Brandon Jennings whom they'd signed in FA a few season ago so Charlotte will definitely be contenders in the East.

It looks like this may be the end of the 76ers dynasty, but we'll definitely see what happens going forward.

                    Here is my current lineup:

                      Stat Leaders

                      PPG: Rose(28.8)Matthews(16.7)Boozer(15.5)
                      RPG: Boozer(11.4)Rost(7.9)Asik(6.0)
                      APG: Rose(11.7)Dragic(3.2)Boozer(2.0)
                      SPG: Rose(3.6)Brewer (1.8)Matthews (1.5)
                      BPG: Noah (5.0)*Asik(1.5)Jordan(1.8)

                      The good

As you can tell by the stats Rose has been a complete monster to start off the season, scoring 30 in 5 of the first 6 games including a 54 point 10 assist 5 rebound 5 steal performance in the Big apple. He's posted 2 triple doubles and has recorded a double double in each game. He's only averaging 2.5 turnovers and shooting 52% from the field and 92% from the charity stripe. The only thing he does need to improve on is 3pt shooting which is a dismal 29%.

Joakim Noah has returned from a broken foot and just played his first game putting up 6pts 9rebs and 5 monstrous blocks which is exactly all I asked from him, this will allow Derrick Rose to not have to worry about rebounding anymore with Boozer/Noah/Brewer rebounding Matthews and Rose just have to worry about the break. Also with Noah back it gives me a 6'11 presence to lock down the paint

Matthews has been been a sharpshooter knocking down 37% of his threes, he's made the most in the league, he's hit at least 2 or 3 clutch threes to keep me in games. He's making roughly 4 threes a game along with his defense have been a huge plus pairing him with Ronnie Brewer has created frustration for any player I have put them on, they've shut down Carmello, Devin Harris, Gerald Wallace,Ben Gordon, Charlie V, Kevin Durant, Steven Jackson and Russell Westbrook so far into the season

                      The bad

Ronnie brewer is useless on offense his mid range is a 86 but for some reason he has not hit one single shot outside of the paint and is shooting a horrible 36% in general
Offense relies on Rose a bit to much since no one on the team besides Dragic can create their own shot, 3pt shooting is a bit spotty besides Matthews everyone is a bit iffy even if they are open. As good as my defense is I should be blowing teams out but yet every team seems to have a chance to beat me or has been within 5pts

Has anyone traded for a PG and moved Rose to the 2?

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Decided to start a fantasy draft association. Set the order to where D12 was with LA, Lebron in Cleveland, Duncan still in San Antonio, and that was about it prior to the draft.

The season is 29 games long with a 1-1-3-5 playoff format, and I will be playing a game followed by simming one to still be able to play the games whilst having a somewhat realistic record, so I avoid having a ridiculous win percentage due to playing every game, while still being able to enjoy the association and give it duration. It also will make the stats for my PG more realistic considering when people play their games PGs tend to average something like 25-10. I forgot whose rosters I am using, but i know they have lowered potentials on all players and their tendecies, touches, etc. redone.

                        My team is as follows:

1 - Brandon Jennings, Sebastian Telfair
2 - Ray Allen, Carlos Delfino, Jermaine Taylor
3 - Terrance Williams, Carlos Delfino, Rodney Carney
                        4 - Dirk, Charlie V
5 - Birdman, Andris Biedrins, Soloman Alabi

I also drafted Elliot Williams and sent him straight to the D-League.

I decided to choose the Knicks, so I can rise them to prominence. I also wanted to have a generally old starting 5, while centering around Brandon Jennings for the future and making up for the mistake they made on draft night drafting Jordan Hill over him. I plan to develop Alabi into a solid stalwart in the middle and either starting him or using him as a great role player in the future, depending on what type of Power Forward comes after the Dirk era with the opportunities that present themselves. Terrance Williams is someone i really like to run the break with Jennings with Allen hovering around the perimeter, and I can stick with the same Run n' Gun offense that the D'Antoni teams run.

Game one is against Manu Ginobli and the Wolves, one of the worst teams in the league I might add. This is a good game to try and figure out as much as possible about the players, seeing as I have hardly played with any of them.

At this point, I see this team as a middle of the road team, a 4 or 5 seed. Idk if we would be considered contenders, though. I know it'll be hard to rebuild with the picks I'm getting and the aging of Dirk and Ray, so I see a lot of fun now and in the future with this team, seeing as I'm not stacked with young players I know will develop in this roster and Jennings is really my only long term piece, so a lot is subject to change.

I like what you have done with this team! It is very realistic. I would maybe make a move to grab a PG from Houston. They have several and would realisticly be looking to unload one of them. D Rose's ratings will bump when he is moved to SG so thats a plus too.
The way to build a good team is not to load it with star players, but to load it with players who play well together with an identity

Just started up a season with an 03-04 roster (look in roster forums, some of the rosters in there are awesome) and I'm having a blast. Couldn't choose on a team so I decided to control all 30 and play a game with a different team each week. Played an awesome Knicks (me) vs Magic game earlier. McGrady went off on me for 48 points but nobody else bar Grant Hill was contributing for the Magic so I managed scratch out a 108-96 victory with Marbury netting 28 points and 12 assists. Great fun!
