Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
The 3 point shootout is not that responsive. The camera angles the cpu get are the type of angles i would of preferred when im shooting. But i do not think you can change the angles in this mode.
The dunk contest as terrible as i think the controls are for this feature would of been better to do this gimmick first then let the dunk take place in one fluid motion like the cpu instead of pausing mid attempt.
If there is a way to just have the cpu for all contestants in both of these modes and just spectate would of given me a better experience then when i was playing the modes as one of them lolComment

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
My biggest beef with presentation is how heavily edited the soundtrack is...it's like listening to a scratched CD. Then the stuff they edit half the time doesn't make sense. They bleeped out the word 'proven' in Victory, wtf?
What was the point of making Jay the ex producer? Lol
P.S. He did get us Barkley and Pippen thoughLast edited by NINJAK2; 10-02-2012, 01:47 PM.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Havent gone up to HOF yet but I've yet to feel like Im being cheated by the game. That, for me at least, is the most important aspect of sports gaming on the sim level.Comment

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
Playing on pro/sim seems the way to go this year. Just lost a close game to the Spurs, and they played exactly like the Spurs. Parker and Ginobili just took over and won the game.
Brandon Roy hit a nice floater over Tim Duncan with 4 seconds left, spurs inbound the ball and Parker fakes out Rubio with a pump, steps up and nails the game winner.
I was hating the game on all star, switching to pro was the best decision I could have madeComment

Haven't searched the thread to check on this but it seems like they took away the ability to have the mid-calf sleeve along with the knee pad at the same time on legs, unless im doing something wrong"here's a jewel, love your enemies and hate your friends, enemies remain the same, friends always change." -50 CentComment

Will do that tonight when I get a chance to play again.
I really like what I saw from Pro default. I'm not one of those that can kill the CPU. A gift in my eyes.
As for those commenting on Wall feeling like Wall, I can attest to that playing as Rose. Really felt like him. The speed, agility. Really nice to see your player actually explode and drive by a slower defender.
At one point a mismatch had Garnett on him. I knew it was go time and interestingly enough (I play on auto plays) once I started sizing him up, my players spread the floor and no play was called. Not sure it was just a lucky thing to see Iso happen so fluidly.
Then I blew right by Garnett to the basket. Felt nice.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
I am a MyCareer player mainly - I thought I'd post my impressions so far for like-minded gamers:
Well I made 2 PG's - one an Athletic guard based on my 2k12 Pg and the other a 3pt Specialist based on my 2k11 guy. Here are my thoughts:
1: Gameplay is a lot more engaging this year for me -- I feel this year's AI is better then either 2k12 or 2k11.
2: The bug with the playvision is forcing me to play free-style, but it is doable with the decent AI respacing and adjusting.
3: Playing on Pro-Sim settings with true shooting % and true free throws on 12 minute quarters-- I think some will bitch and moan about 3 point shots, however I thought all the games' statistics looked o.k. Only one game was a "high scoring" game with my team reaching 118 and the other 110. There were alot of intentional fouls, free throws and comeback attempts in the last minute of the game.
With my 3-Pt. specialist, my rookie showcase produced a double-double with 18 points and 15 assists and a B+ team grade. I was interviewed by the Rockets, the Bucks and the Hornets. I was taken 10th overall.
4: So far the Hornets are playing me at the PG position and placing Rivers/Vasquez at the shooting guard when I am substituted in. This is a great improvement over 2k11 and 2k12, where I was playing more SG then PG in the beginning.
5: After game five I had to choose between Nike and Jordan. I chose Nike and have access to the Pennys, however I do not have access to any other brand.
6: I was able to equip my guy with accessories - specifically Adidas sleeves, Calf thingies, and all the different wrist items without cost.
There are a lot more things like social media but I'm going to head back into the game for a bit. I hope everyone else is having fun as I am.
7: The inability to change name or character features is a bummer - so this year all my guys are going to look like the original I made. That is a step backwards- but maybe I just do not know how to make new guys correctly yet.Comment
