Just for the record...how many of games have this ruined for you?? I have played 5 very tight games so far against the CPU. The TO bug has hindered my experience in one of them(Carter didn't have enough time to get the ball off). For the most part, it hasn't bothered me and I made of point of noticing it. It's just one of those things that you hope it's a patch for, but it's not a gamekiller for me.

keep in mind also the VERY short limit of time these compaines (both EA and VC) have to complete these games. LESS THEN 1 YEAR. non-sports games sometimes take years and years to make. games like metal gear, final fantasy for example, take years to complete. and these are not sports games. these are games that basically follow a script.
While non-sports games may take years and years to develop, they don't start from scratch with sports games. I highly doubt they scrapped last year's entire engine and rebuilt it. It required some tweaking, which is just not the case with non-sports games, which is why I think a franchise like this requires particular attention to detail, especially given that minor details are much more noticeable in sports games than others.Comment

Re: CPU Timeout problem, reason inside
I haven't had the chance to play enough yet to see just how destructive this bug is, but I'm not looking forward to it. I buy sports games to play franchises, usually for multiple seasons. I played at least 4 or 5 seasons in their entirety in 2k4, maybe more, and just as many in 2k3. While the lack of AI difficulty in those games was difficult to overlook, I can't imagine having the few close games I encountered being ruined by a lack of CPU timeouts. I've always been a VC / Sega fan when it came to basketball, but this might very well push me to EA.
For those of you who say its excusable / somewhat excusable because of the $20 price tag, keep this in mind - the sole purpose of the $20 price tag was to capture some of EA's market in sports gaming. That doesn't work if they deliver a sub-par product, much less one wrought with game-killing bugs. I personally think b/c they went to that effort to lure in customers, they owed it to us to deliver a fantastic product, and moreso to themselves to take advantage of the opportunity. If these bugs are as destructive as they seem, you think 2k6 games are going to sell at all? I'm a PS2 owner so it doesn't seem like I could benefit from a patch even if they released one. If this bug is as big a problem as it seems, VC can be assured they've lost at least one customer next year. I don't pay to do their beta-testing.Last edited by Jas8099; 10-02-2004, 09:13 AM.Comment

Not to say that it possibly might not, or that it doesn't hinder the realism ever so slightly, but all of my games have been...... FUN.

Interesting thought, would be neat if someone tried this.Originally posted by klindougHas anyone tried setting their own TO's to Auto in franchise? Just a hunch...
It's possible that the CPU settings change with the user's, so ideally someone can test this out.Last edited by Jimplication; 10-02-2004, 09:44 AM.Enjoy football? Enjoy Goal Line Blitz!Comment

If they have any business sense they will. Something like this will destroy their credebility for next year.Originally posted by Peter_OSI will try right now and get back to you.
But if it's not possbile in franchise mode VC needs to release a patch or recall the game. Or give us at least an option to replace our game. IMO.Comment
